My experience with Aztec was unimpressive. I am grateful he ignored me because I would not want someone like that working on my house... Can you imagine what it would be like trying to get ahold of him if something went wrong? I have since hired one of Aztec's competitor's who is truly James Hardie certified, professional and has the customer service skills Mike Dittmer lacks. I will be posting a review on this company upon completion of the job. UPDATE: Dittmer did not respond many times as he states. I Never asked for anything going against James Hardie specs and based on Dittmer's comment that the product I wanted was flawed, I called James Hardie directly. I was told there was nothing wrong with the product and their website advertises pictures of what I wanted. The JH rep gave me the name of the JH certified contractor I used for the job and I couldn't be happier. And, my JH warranty is intact. After a little research, I discovered how Aztec has manipulated the Angie's List process to achieve the ranking it has. If I can gain this information, so can other people. Scar your reputation? My review can't even come close to what you've done to it yourself. Again, thank God you ignored me.

Aztec Homes gave the best estimate of all the contractors we contacted. All work was done professionally, on time, and on budget. I highly recommend them. An added benefit is the owner and foreman are veterans.

After getting a few bids on painting our house and shocked at the price we decided to get some bids on replacing cedar siding with fiber cement boards. The bids we recieved were slightly higher then the painting alone but thought it was worth the investment to updated the exterior with fiber cement siding. Aztec Homes was one of the siding companies that provided bids. After meeting with Mike from Aztec to review his proposal and discuss how they handle the process we decided to go with Aztec Homes to replace our siding with James Hardie fiber cement boards. We also had to replace many rake boards along the roof line as well. Once the project started Ryan was introduced as the project manager and was our point person through out the process. Ryan was very responsive and was available each day to make sure the project was progressing to our satisfaction. The project took 7-8 days to tear down old siding put up new siding and paint the entire house with two coats of paint. Our two biggest surprise during the project was to find out our two cedar columns in the front of the house were rotten and our wood garage doors were rotting as well. The crew used the Myrtec product as its replacement for the columms and it looks the same as before. We were able to get a vendor out to replace the garage doors in time so Aztec's crew could paint them. In the end, we are happy with the final product and hope that it will add value to our home in the long run.

Quotation was delivered promptly, with complete details as to what was covered. Scheduling of work was arranged to beat the approach of rainy weather. And the work was done so as to even better the anticipated schedule (by working long hours and without "horseplay"). Supervision by Ryan Oros was the very best one could hope for, and seldom reached by contractors in general ! All workers were professional in manner, friendly and accommodating. Altogether an experience that was very pleasant.

The workers finished the work quickly and thoroughly and cleaned up well.

The job went very well. Mike Ditmer patiently answered all my questions during the planning and presented a very complete picture of what work would be done. There was a lot of attention to detail. Once the project got under way, Ryan supervised the daily work and was always available if I had a question. I cannot imagine a nicer person to work with. He was kind and knowledgeable and willing to work through any problem. There were some delays due to weather but everything was handled professionally and I was always informed. I was especially impressed with the precision of the carpentry crew. I highly recommend this company.

They were excellent to work with. They did the job as we expected and in the time frame we expected.

All in all, we were very pleased with the services and experience. Mike Dittmer was helpful and detailed in suggesting solutions after looking at our home. He was extremely patient and came back three times over a number of months as we sorted out what we wanted to do. He is a well educated professional with a depth of experience in his work. It was a very pleasant experience to work with him. Ryan took over the supervision once the project was underway. He was very responsive to questions and concerns and frequently was on site to make sure the work was done consistent with their standards. He was also very friendly and helpful. One of the things I liked best was their willingness to do small tasks as part of the larger project so that we were satisfied with the end result. They repaired a tear in a few shingles that had been nagging at us. They evaluated one area on the roof where we thought we might have some water coming in occasionally. They resealed around several skylights as a preventive measure. They did some sealing around an odd turn in a gutter that has been an irritant. They of course cleaned the gutters before installing the gutter guards, which helped with our high pitched roof. They moved up the date for doing our house to accomodate our schedule. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. Our neighbors commented on how the crews really hustled and worked very hard. They were all polite. They also cleaned up thoroughly after work each day, not just at the end. I suggest you paint a small sample section before the main painting is done. It can be hard to visualize what a particular color will look like when on the home.

This company was excellent. They were great to work with. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves, did exactly what they said the would do and the house looks like a brand new house. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a quality job done in a timely manner for a good price.

I worked with Mike on the initial planning and was very pleased with the proposal and attention to detail. Ryan ran the project and was extremely attentive to any concern or changes that arose. Phone calls were always returned in a timely manner. It was a pleasure to work with him. The house is a two story.The roofing crew was extremely hard working and polite, cleaning the site up each day. Existing rotted siding was replaced. The rotted wood in many areas was replaced and one plate was partially replaced. Window trim was replaced MiraTEC. Porch supports were replaced and timmed out and any concerns were addressed in a thoughful and timely manner. The end product was professionally done to my satisfaction. Remy's painting crew did a great job and was very couteous and responsive. The guttering was the only part contracted out and I understood that. Part of that process was less than satisfactory but Ryan worked that out to my satifaction. The whole process ran smoothly thanks to Ryan, Remy and Mike. I could not be more pleased at the finished project and would definetly work with them again.

The job went great, they have a very competative price, completed the work on time and were very responsive to every question or issue I had. Ryan the project manager was always available and made sure that I was completly happy with the project before my final payment.

Working with Aztec was a great experience. Mike and/or Ryan responded to any questions or issues that I had in a timely fashion. Their crews worked hard and were respectful of our property. Having a nearly 100-year old house, they also helped to replaced parts of the undersiding that were damaged from the years. The trim painting took a little while to finish because of the weather back in spring, but the house looks great and the insulated walls help out immensely. Like any project, there were a few minor issues, but nothing that didn't have a quick fix.

Working with Ryan Oros was a pleasure from start to finish. The start of the project was delayed due to our very slow neighborhood architectural review board. But Ryan managed to start the job as soon as we received the approval. The crew worked fast and did a great job. They even replaced some damaged items like our dryer vent and back door screen; they definitely went above and beyond. Most importantly, the house looks great.

The windows were installed in four hours. Two crews showed up and were all over the house, inside and out. I was amazed that the job was done so quickly. Clean-up was excellent, all old windows, and scrap was removed. These are great windows, have cut my electric bill (I'm all electric), and the professionalism of the Aztec crews was exemplery. I had used Aztec last year to install James Hardy fiber/cement siding on the upper story of the house. Due to that experience, I was confident in using the company for the windows. The cost was less than I expected to pay for the windows and installation. They have been in for two months, and I have found to problems with the units themselves, or the installation of them.

Aztec came to my home and gave a good estimate to custom build, paint, and install 4 sets of outdoor shutters. The shutters arrived and I liked the design, paint job, and overall product. However, Aztec sent a Spanish speaking only crew to install the shutters. Some shutters were installed with too few screws and they pulled away from the wall. Some shutters had the screw holes in the middle of the shutter, some near the end, no consistency. The screws were not counter sinked so they were an eye sore. Aztec came out to the home and agree to rehang and counter sink. They made 1 trip and did some re-hanging. Several weeks went by, I called and they promised to come out again. The second trip they did some counter sinking but were not able to finish. Several weeks went by, I called the owner and he sent the guy out to finish the job ASAP - I had fallen off of their 'radar'. Now the shutters are hung - but the screw holes were so messed up that I now have 10 screws holding up 1 shutter - 20 screws for the pair. That is a lot of holes in my new fiber cement siding. The shutters look ok but 2 of them are bowing in the middle - I am not going to call them again to fix this because I do not want more holes. In the end, the product was fine but th installation disfigured the product and left me with a lot of holes in my siding.

We highly recommend Aztec Homes, Inc. Ryan Oros was our supervisor, he spent a lot of time with us before signing the contract to answer all of our questions and address any concerns. Ryan also took the time to meet with the roofing company, to ensure the new trim boards were installed to the specifications the roofer needed. Once the work started it was seamless. The siding crew led by Remy was extremely polite and courteous. They took extra care with our landscaping and even did a few things for us that did not fall into their realm of responsibilities. The painting crew led by Jose was also extremely polite and courteous. The paint job is exceptional, very professional. Both the siding and painting crew left our yard as clean if not cleaner then when they arrived. Over the course of the project we got to know Ryan and the crews and found them very personable and geniuely nice people. Throughout the process we made changes to a few things on the fly, this was not a problem at all. Aztec was very accommodating. At the end of each completed job, Ryan made sure we were completely satisfied before moving to the next step. This was our first experience with contractors and we could not be happier with the end result. We would not hesitate to hire them again.

The company was very responsive from the beginning, providing an estimate and starting the job earlier than anticipated. I received an update every day of the progress and they finished ahead of schedule. Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous. My only criticism was they did a less than stellar job of cleaning up. Some of the siding was removed and replace on a screened in porch. I didn't realize until after the job was done and they were gone that they left a lot of debris on the porch. There was also some debris in the flower beds. This is a small disappointment, however, compared to the excellent job they did removing and replacing the siding.

It was great from the quote process to the actual work. They spent a lot of time explaining the process and reasons why you might choose to replace the siding or fix the old. A couple of guys came out and had the new siding up in just a few days. It looked like they did a great job and the painters that came in behind them talked about how impressed they were with the job and the caulking that they used. We were very pleased and would highly recommend them. We had contemplated fixing the siding that was on the house and after talking to Aztec, we determined we could put on fiber cement for just a little more money and never have to worry about the siding again as long as we lived here. Why wouldn't you go that route?

Mike and Ryan were terrific to work with. They were very engaging, professional, and followed through on all their promises. They made some recommendations on using Miratec trim boards on our house and we couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. This was one of the most positive projects I have completed with contractors. They were there everyday making sure we were satisfied with their work - AND WE WERE!!!

I have been in the contracting business for close to 30 years and these are exactly the kind of guys that you want to have doing work for you at your home. They care about you and your home as well as the quality and professionalism of the work that they provide.

The overall process start to finish went very well. They made a big project simple for me and I appreciate that. Mike and Ryan met my expectations on every level and I felt comfortable to give them a call if I had any questions and they always responded within a reasonable time. They kept in contact with my on a regular basis as to the status. We did a final inspection and they did not ask for my final check until everything on my list was completed to my satisfaction. The crew was professional and worked very hard in the heat and worked until dark if I allowed them, which I did. They even worked Saturday to finish everything. They were also careful not to let the dog out of the fence, as I had asked, when working in that area. In addition, I feel comfortable to contact them in the future for references of other necessary work that I may need. Thanks Mike, Ryan and crew for making this experience a good one.

Overall the entire project took about 8 days. Aztec is a very professional and well managed company. We selected them because of their high recommendation from Angie's list. The owner, Mike, gave us a very professional estimate complete with literally hundred's of references complete with addresses and phone numbers. We did visit several of the jobs he had completed and all were very well done. Aztec is a preferred installer for Hardy Siding and I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering replacing siding on their home. Ryan was also very hands on everyday, and we appreciate all his hard work in a very successful job.

Very well with minimal need for me to follow-up. Work was done. They worked efficiently and cleanly removing debris. They had to beat winter and then follow up to paint.Project began in Oct-Nov and completed in Feb-March.Committed to replace soffits and damaged area and did so with one exception. After several polite calls they did finally come and apparently painted soffit area and not replace as it may need. Overall I was very pleased with the work done and Ryan Oros especially. He was professional and responsive (except that one small area.) I had to be out of town and they managed well independently. Everything done as promised despite the weather challenges and this helped home avoid winter damage as the Louisiana-Pacific (L-P) brand siding actually disintegrated into open holes that water could come through.The manufacturer would get an F if I could rate them here. But Aztec deserves an A for the work they did. Thanks again to Mike for setting it all up and to Ryan for his friendliness and thoroughness (and answering the phone himself whenever I called!) Good and fast work that I would recommend - especially if your house is unfortunate to have L-P siding. Don't wait for winter!!!
