I have been an antique colllector and part-time antique dealer for 25 years. I've refinished dozens of pieces of antique furniture. The shop that previously did my furniture stripping closed and I found Second Chance in the phone book. I delivered a mostly disassembled curved glass china cabinet for stripping. The piece was ready to strip except for some hardware. Second Chance gave me an estimate which I found acceptable. I was told that the cabinet would be finished the next Friday. I work during the week and asked if I could pick the cabinet up on a Saturday. I was informed that Second Chance is not open on weekends. My wife had to take off work to pick the cabinet up on the agreed date. The next day I unloaded the cabinet to find the worst strip job I've ever seen on a piece of furniture. There were numerous areas where the finish was not completely removed. There were areas where dried stripper and old finish had seeped from the pores of the wood. Lines and cracks had large amounts of finish still present. Hardware such as the door handle had been left on the piece and simply stripped over. My previous stripper always bleached & cleaned each piece to remove discoloration and permit a more even finish. No such luck at Second Chance. As a result I purchased a gallon of stripper from another dealer and restripped and bleached the piece myself. I was not willing to drive 25 miles to return the cabinet and then take off work and pick the cabinet back up. I would definitely not recommend this firm to do any furniture stripping of any type. Worst quality job I have ever received.

They did very good work. There was about 80 years of paint on the doors & hutch and they stripped almost every bit off. The rest was taken care of at home prior to staining. Very good work.

They did an incredible job matching up the fabric. The benches look like they're right off the show room floor. Plus, they accomplished the work ahead of schedule. After describing the benches over the phone, Dan gave me an approximate estimate. The price per bench was more reasonable than any Indianapolis upholsterer (including those on Angie's List). I took the benches to him and after seeing them, he confirmed his initial estimate. I left them there with the fabric and the rest is history. Second Chance is a freestanding building, clean with fabric samples and sample books in the showroom and work area in the back. You can bring in your own material. They also do beautiful refinish work on furniture. Well worth the trip -- easy to get to.

They did a great job. They were affordable and the owner is extremely professional and articulate. He came out to do the estimates. They did exactly what they said they were going to and they did a great job.

We are very pleased with the work and are planning to work with them again. The dining room set and the bedroom set were my grandparents and have sentimental value. They replaced and repaired where necessary and lightened the color as we had agreed. They did a great job.

The company did a good job on the refinishing.

Teri was great to work with. He looked over the pieces before stripping and discussed the options I had. The striping was done when he said it would be and then he called (as promised) so I could look at the pieces and decide what the new finishes should be. He made suggestions, but made it clear it was up to me. The final work was done on time and each piece was done perfectly and looked great. I will definitely use them again.

They were absolutely awful. I had a beautiful drum table in my living room returned full of bubbles. Furthermore, their upholstery job was inadequate. They were inept. I wouldn't take anything to them for any reason. They kept pestering me too, and the woman who works in there is not congenial at all.

The furniture looks like new. They returned it on time and were very aware of the muddy conditions outside and asked for something to wipe their feet on to keep my floor clean. They very carefully set everything down in place and helped to put the glass top on the buffet. They repaired the small pieces that had come off the furniture over time and repaired the hole in the dining room table so that it can't be seen. They were on time, polite, and very reasonably priced for the services they provide. They maintain a list of costs for certain furniture and their estimate was right on the button. I plan to use them again this summer for another room of furniture.

THE COMPANY CAME PROMPTLY TO PICK UP ITEMS-VERY PROFESSIONAL, HANDLED MY FURNITURE AS IF IT WAS THEIR OWN.

THEY WERE GREAT! THEY DID THE REPAIRS FOR FREE BASED ON THE NUMBER OF PIECES I HAD AND LET ME PURCHASE SOME TASSELS FOR THE CHAIR MYSELF TO SAVE MONEY. VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY CONCERNED THAT I WAS COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH EACH FINISHED PIECE. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND DID ALL THE WORK IN LESS THAN A MONTH'S TIME.
