Practical Tree Service

In April, I contract Dwayne Howard/Practical Tree service to remove my final two trees in my yard as well as three stumps. I took several different estimates and as previously stated in a review they were far cheaper. It seemed to be a great deal. He quoted for the take down for the two trees, quoted me to remove/grind down three stumps. Which is what we thought happened. Late April Practical Tree Service removed the trees and stumps as contracted ($2200). Later in the spring I decided to remove the shavings from my yard in order to grow grass in those area. Once the shavings were removed (6/8/16) we realized that instead of removing the stump by grinding below the surface (6-8”) the stumps were at ground level with some parts of the stump were actually above the surface. I contacted Dwayne immediately to schedule them to re-do the grinding. He stated he would be in contact to schedule this as his cousin was the one he had remove the trees and grind the stumps. He also stated that this wasn’t the first complaint about the type of work. Although the weather in the early summer slowed the possibility of getting this completed, no contact was ever made by Dwayne. I reached out after the weeks of rain in the beginning of August. I was told that “hoping next week” per a text from Dwayne (see attached). I requested him to firm up a date. I never heard back for nearly a month, reached out again about when I can get my project completed since I already paid in full. I have been given excuse after excuse for reasons of why this is being delayed. Whether it is an illness of his cousin or not having a trailer to haul his “new $51,000 stump grinder”. I have been trying to make contact no via email, text and phone without returning any of them now. This is not a good company and doesn’t understand about customer service nor does it understand about services rendered. They did NOT complete the services I paid for and therefore they should simply refund a portion of my funds in order for me to hire another company to finish what they started! I attached pictures of the horrible grinding job as well as the text messages. Speaks for itself, UPDATE: October 8th, 2016 After waiting and waiting for this ridiculous company to call me back I hired another company to finish the job that Dwayne Howard was incapable of doing. I add the pictures of how much saw dust was left proving that this company does NOT know their own craft. Buy cheap you get cheap!!! Pictures 1-3 are from after original job was completed by Practical Tree. Pictures 4-6 are the text messages trying to get Dwayne to re-do the obvious incomplete job Pictures 7-8 are the re-do that cost additional funds. And as you can clearly see the job was not completed the first time. The re-do was performed by Stumps Only which capitalizes on lack luster companies like Practical Tree to keep busy.

They were prompt. We had them take down three trees for us. They were really large trees. They cleaned up their mess, they took all the wood. They were wonderful.

They were great. They even took away trees my husband had started to cut down. We had received 2 estimates, and he was by far the lowest.
