THE CHRISTIAN CONNECTION / PASTOR TORRANCE DUNN

Description of Work: I have a very large handyman project. It represents several thousands of dollars. Pastor Dunn had called several times, and was eager to give me an estimate. I meet him at the premises, and all he seemed to want to just talk. I asked him to look at the place, and review it with me, and told him that I had been told it would be about $5,000 in work and he tells me that he will give a 20% discount. There were no referrals on Angie's list or the BBB, which concerned me, but he was able to offer references, and he appeared to be knowledgeable of what he was saying.... but my gut feeling tells me that I need to interview others. Pastor Dunn said he could start immediately -- as soon as I could pay him upfront 1/3, which is customary, and he promised a revised estimate by Friday, which he did, but less somethings that were major like the Air/Heat Furnace, and the Water Heater, and when I questioned him on this, he gave me a figure far lower ($215.00) than his original amount of $3800..... so something was wrong. Maybe he is giving me an "al a carte" bill --- and that I don't want. I also wonder why he is so overly eager.... for me that is a red flag. I have decided to interviewed several companies, just for comparison now while I figure out the financing of this project.
