+ -1 moreEverything turned out well. The crewmen were very nice and on time, worked hard, and didn't leave behind any messes. Furthermore, they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The only issue is that they didn't seem too knowledgeable about dealing with plants.

+ 0 moreThe beds around trees were not well shaped, it was to be a circle but it was not at all any defined shaped. The other bed was not edged deep enough. The people were nice but they were talking bad about other landscape companies. The company never did complete the bid I requested.

+ 1 moreThe provider attempted to come twice but was deterred by rain. In one instance, they sent two persons but it was too wet to go out in the yard. The workers took advantage of the trip out to look over the yard to see the areas where they could help achieve our overall goal of ridding the yard of areas of overgrowth. The next scheduled time, they were running late from another job. My husband had started working in that area and I asked the company of we could reschedule. They were accommodating and sent two people at the start of the next day. It was a good decision. Oh, did I fail to mention that the equipment used by these two fellows who did the work saved much time. Yes, my husband could have done the work but he told me what these fellows did in 2 hours would have taken him at least 8 hours. We are very happy, very satisfied, and would hire this company to do landscaping work, or spring clean-up, again.
Description of Work: Clean an area of our yard that had been neglected for a few years. They moved some items for us and trimmed back overgrown bushes. Actually, they cut back to the ground all the brush that had overgrown and carried all the debris away. The two fellows who did the work were excellent. They knew their stuff, so to speak, and worked diligently, efficiently.

+ 2 moreA little confusion on our address, but after that they showed up quickly. Worked with virtually no supervision and did an excellent job of cleaning up after they were done. Great personalities and good workers. Don't hesitate to buy this service...it's worth it and they do an outstanding job.
Description of Work: Removed old hadite stone mulch and placed new mulch. Placed 3 tree rings. Cleaned out old mulch that had grass growing through it.

+ -1 moreI was very disappointed in the work done. The people that came were very nice but they talked bad about other companies but then didn't do a good job edging. The area around a tree was not at all a circle, it was so off! They also didn't make the depth of the edge nearly deep enough. It was barely visible.

+ 0 moreThe work has been done. They came out in the first week of May. They did not show up on time though. However the manager/team leader showed up to take orders with what needed to be done. He was professional, but the work was not completed. Also there were several items I wanted them to do, such as trim/cut the shrubs and spread mulch. The shrubs were not trimmed/cut at all and the mulch took longer to spread than it should have. Since they showed up late, I was not able to supervise the job and then I had to leave. I then realized that the work had not been and there was no communication from the company to myself as the customer for a follow up.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for: $99 for 4 Hours of Spring Yard Clean-Up, Plus Debris Disposal.

There were only actually 2 phone calls made to me and this was after I waited several days for communication from them. They did try to schedule after I had already called Angie's List to cancel and had already been refunded my $. All my other reviews are A's and I stand behind my statements concerning Greenlawn by Design and their lack of communication/cooperation.

Ever since I switched from True Green to Green Lawn by Design my yard looked better than it ever has from a weed free standpoint. True Green only applied full yard weed killer during the 1st yearly application, and spot weed killer during the remaining yearly applications.

After having Royce Simpkins out to our home for an estimate, he was able to give us a very competitive offer for both lawn cutting and treating combined. We decided to go with them because we were very unhappy with the service from our previous service. We really liked the 1:1 service that Royce and his staff gave us. We have continued using them and are very happy with the results. Even in one instance, where the cut of the lawn was not to our expectations, we had a phone call within one day, they refunded us for that, and followed up after the next one to make sure it was up to our standards. They are very accessible, and I have even scheduled things via Twitter with them! The billing system is easy to figure out, and they are always available to answer any questions you have.
Description of Work: GreenLawn by Design is our lawn care provider for both cutting the lawn and treating it. They also have done core aeration and other lawn services for us over a period of 2 years.

+ -1 moreOne of our friends for whom he's done work before was there when we learned that he refused to finish the job or replant the ivy/ vines that they'd taken out, turned and left, and he was astounded. Our friend said, "If nothing else, it's very unprofessional for him to say 'I'm not going to do any more work for you people!'" We later sent him a letter and check, documenting everything (work done/ not done), and he sent us an email back stating that he wanted the full amount quoted (even though he didn't do all the work; twice, he refused to do it), which was $7500. His one response was to mail our check back with no note of explanation. He is unwilling to attempt a resolution.
Description of Work: We hired him to do some landscaping work for us. We knew he was new in the business, but we knew a few others who have had good work done by him so we decided to give him a try. We asked him to weed some bedding areas , and his workers pulled up a large area of ivy and vines due to lack of professional training. We also asked them to put down mulch (2-3 inches deep), and they only had one wheelbarrow, two workers. It took two days, and that inflated the hours for which they billed us. We asked him to put in metal edging, he started, however , stopped saying that our soil was too rocky. We feel that he wasn't using the right tools. He was suppose to clear one area, and he just went through with a chainsaw instead of digging the invasive plants out. This way, they'll grow back next year, but we didn't say anything in case we'd given unclear instructions. We want to be fair, but we don't want to be taken advantage of-- we don't like bad feelings with anybody.
