Greenlawn By Design

I purchased a "Deal" to for 3 hours of cleaning up the weeds and things from my flowerbeds. It went very well. I was very pleased with the service and how nice the people were. They even finished a little early and called me to see if there was anything else I wanted them to do. I really appreciated that.

The Team Leader Kory showed up on time and his crew did exactly what I had asked them to do. They cleaned up my landscape beds and removed all leaves in a prompt and timely manner. They even moved some lawn ornaments that had fallen down and replaced them for me without me even asking. Will be sure to call them back in the Spring!

Work performed as indicated. Communication on scheduling was great. I look forward to seeing the benefits on the lawn in the Spring.

Very good. He was originally scheduled to come on Oct 17th but hadn't shown up. When I called he explained their truck was in an auto accident and he was working with insurance. I understand things happen but would have liked a courtesy call instead of waiting around all day at home. However, he did show up first thing the next morning to do the job and we ended up booking an additional service. I would use them again.

It went well. Nice staff to work with. They did not get as much done as I thought they would, but I could have had unreasonable expectations.

All the work was completed as we discussed. The bushes and their roots were completely removed. Great care was taken accessing the trees prior to being trimmed to ensure they remained healthy and still looked good. The ground cover was killed off successfully with one application. All this work was completed in three separate jobs. Each time, the crew cleaned up the yard of any debris, leaving everything looking great. We plan to have them come back in the spring to do more work.

This was a small cleanup job to weed garden beds and create separation between beds and pavement around pool, also remove poison ivy. Everything was done to my satisfaction.

The good - someone always answers the phone and is always friendly. My experience went awry when I showed up at my rental one day and it looked as if the grass hadn't been mowed that week. My tenants assured me the mowing crew had been there the night before. I called the next day to ask if they could mow it very low next time. This did not happen. The next time they mowed I was at the property at again, it looked the lawn had barely been mowed. I was not able to catch the crew before they left, but they were only there for just over 5 minutes and I was in the middle of a plumbing problem. My yard is not small and I couldn't believe they were gone already. Plus I had originally requested every other week and was assured they would notify me if they felt the grass needed to be mowed weekly. This never happened. I got an invoice one day and they had started mowing every week without notice. And the place still looked like a jungle. They are nice people - I just think they need a better system of communication.

We couldn't be happier with the service we receive. Royce and Catherine Simpkins, the owners of the business, do a fantastic job with the company. Service is on time. The billing is easy -- email. Our lawn has never looked better. Additionally, they sell services that are not needed. We plan on using Greenlawn by Design for many years to come.

I have used Greenlawn for years and have always been impressed by there service. This was the first time I used them for weeding. A team of 3 people came out for 1 hour (3 man hours) and did a fabulous job. They gave me the Angie's list special which was great!

The service went well. I paid an additional fee to have them out a little longer. Two technicians came out and completed the job in 5 hours. They spruced up the yard and mulched around the front of the house. They did what I needed done. They were cordial and easy to talk with. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Everything went well. They were on time and did exactly what they were supposed to do.

They came out and performed the 3 treatments in a timely manner. I still had some weeds and they did come back out to apply another treatment. However, this still did not take care of the weeds and I have had better results with other lawn treatments. Still on the fence as to whether I would use them again for lawn treatments.

The mulch was about $100. It went okay. I was at work and my wife was the one that primarily dealt with them. She said that it was fine. They were couple of young guys. They pretty much cleaned up the beds a little bit and threw some mulch down. Their work was okay. They were willing to come when we wanted to schedule it. My wife said that they were nice. I would probably not consider them in the future.

There were no troubles with scheduling and they even went out of their way to accommodate my schedule. On the first day they came out for the work, I was not here and they came back out the next day. I was pleased with their willingness to come back right away. My experience with them was just fine.

The service went fine and they did a good job. They were very responsive and easy to schedule. Two technicians came out and completed the job in the 3 hour time frame. They were great with the cleanup and left no mess. The owner even called to follow up to make sure I had been scheduled.

It went very well. The yard looks good. The only issue is that the mulch was spread a little thin, but still it was a good value.

It went poorly. They came out twice to do the work, and two times I met the supervisor. I had unreturned phone calls and unresolved problems, then the office called wanting the bill paid because we had some extra work done. I took the opportunity saying I was glad they called because I had problems still unresolved and I had left messages but this person never called me. They were totally unaware of any problem. I proceeded to tell all the problems and I had pictures, the whole nine yards to go with it. She did take care of the problem by writing the balance off. She had no idea of the problems. I understand I wasn't the first complaint that week. I sent her the pictures and the emails that we had communicated trying to get the problems resolved. The person they sent out who looks at all the work was not the actual one who did the work, but the work was very poor. I was very upset after the second time and no response. They did offer to come back but I said no, I'm done and I don't want them here. I don't want them to touch anything. I am done with them. Two times things were bad and I had pictures. I was done. They did write the balance of the bill off but I did also pay for the Angie's List service. They took that as payment but the work was not completed at all as specified and it was very bad. I didn't think the price that they quoted me was that unfair. They didn't come when we kept calling back. I didn't really have any problems with the professionalism of the office, but there was also no communication and you can just imagine getting called to pay the balance. It was like they wanted to take the payment now. They called me in August and I was out of town in July. I kept calling and telling this guy that gave me his card. I think maybe he was a project manager. I told him he needed to call me because we had unresolved issues here and they did not do all the work. It was so obvious that there was a problem. The front row had like a head and it was all chopped in all different levels. It was not even straight. I went over all the work with the manager. That was the whole thing, he met me, and I was very specific. He went over everything with me and when he came back, I went over it again, and he saw all the problems. I took 2 times to meet with this guy and go over all these. We authorized extra work that did not get done which was edging the lawn. They kept saying they will send someone and they will take care of that, but it never got done. The work was so poor. I still have half the bushes with all kinds of weeds that I took pictures of. They did not get edged but the part next door to me got edged so I can see it. I sent all the pictures to Jennifer, the manager because I discussed this with her. I said they put this out on Angie's List and we were looking for someone to do the landscaping stuff and we tried them. They are a nearby business and we would think they would want to do a good job and build their business, but this is what happened. She was very thankful to hear it. She said I was not the first one to complain. The owner is kind of new to the business. They have no idea unless people like me complain to them. I said I have left many messages and no one has called me so there was no communication there. This guy was not communicating. She was the office staff/manager. The girl who was trying to collect the bill put her on the phone. She wanted to send people out to do the work, and I said I don't want them back. They also cut my phone line. We were out of a phone and cable for over 3 weeks because we had it all tied in and they said they have to come out and run the line under my driveway and above through my whole lawn. It was 3 weeks before they came out and fixed it. When the guy was here, we determined the phone would come in there. We knew where it was because we could see the box but we didn't know they cut the line and I'm assuming they didn't either. There was nothing they could do at that point. Nobody could do anything. I understand that could happen and it did happen. I really don't know how deep they were digging, but they cut my line and we were out for 3 weeks. It took them that long to come bring the special machine from the phone company that buried the cable under our driveway. We have a 3-lane driveway. I believe I have it resolved because I didn't pay the difference. I did pay for the Angie's List but the work was very poor and it was really not complete. I would have to go finish it. I was out pulling weeds and I am going to have to go put the rest of the dead bushes myself because they did not do it, and the lawn was not edged. The only thing I could say that was positive was her name was Jennifer and she was in the office, and she was workable in resolving this and open to hearing the feedback. I think they resolved the issue but I thought there was poor communication and this person did not respond to my calls. I thought that as a manager, he should have been out to inspect the work after the second time, but he didn't and I couldn't get him to call me back. I kept saying he needed to call me and we needed to resolve this but I had no response. I think he was very poor, but when the office called they had no idea. I said I just kept calling the number on the card they gave me which was to this guy and not to the main office. My husband was emailing them too saying we still had issues and they needed to come complete the work. We had emails too to this person or to Greenlawn. We thought it went to wherever which the card and info they gave us, but it wasn't the office staff like Jennifer the manager, and when she called, that was when she learned of the problems. We were trying to resolve it. At that point, we just did not want them back. I did not want them to touch anything. It was bad enough. They did resolve the problem but I just felt that there was really poor communication and poor work. I will not use them again because I just don't want to go through it. It was too much energy on my part. I got shoddy work and I did not pay the balance for what they didn't do. My husband forgot what he paid for the Angie's List Big Deal, but I felt that at that point it was fair enough. I did not want them back and I was not paying anymore, and they did not complete the work. We resolved the problem although I just did not feel that the work was good at all, and also the responsiveness and all that. She did resolve the issues so I did not feel the need to pursue any further. I sent her the pictures so I gave her the feedback so she could see or she could come out and look. It was really clear of the problem. I told her that she wouldn't know unless someone tells her. It's the same way at work. If there is a problem, I don't know unless someone will tell me and then we will work on resolving it because it's not what we want to do either. I was nice about it and just told her. I wasn't really happy but I wasn't angry. I just said I'm done and I don't want them back. She offered that and I said fine and I said we just part ways, and bye. I haven't heard back from them but that was the end of it. She resolved that a couple of weeks ago.

I had purchased a big deal from Greenlawn by Design for $115 for three applications. The 2nd application was done on 7/20/14. I called them around 8/1/14 several times to complain about the weed in my yard. Upon multiple phone calls and follow ups the technician came and did the 3rd fertilizer application on 8/20/14 instead of only treating the weeds and a bill(which I fail to understand). I left a message to the company and no one has returned my call. It takes several phone calls to get to talk to someone.
