Greenlawn By Design

Worst lawn service i have EVER used. Owner is completely unresponsive and doesn't even give a heads up when he's going to come. He also doesn't let you know he's been there and what's been done for several days, so you don't have a chance to water it in (doesn't tell you that needs to be done, either) My lawn is covered in weeds. It truly looks horrible. When I've tried to contact him about it, my issues went unanswered. I don't know if he's just tossing junk on the lawn or what, but he's certainly not treating or preventing weeds or fertilizing grass. Also, several of my neighbors use him and their lawns look like junk too. Avoid at all costs.

Very well. We live in a new development and we contacted Green Lawn By Design for a design plan and estimate. We chose them because we were working directly with the company owner and he was also a veteran. We have received many compliments on our yard and other neighbors are now calling Green Lawn By Design for estimates for design plans for their new yards. The owner went above and beyond to make sure the project was done in the three week timeline promised. He and his staff did an excellent job and we couldn’t be happier!!

Constantly dealing with weeds in the yard, they were only spot treating. Paid for over seeding which was not done (they claimed it was). Multiple issues with scheduling of service. Overall service did not meet expectations. While they may meet the needs of other customers, their service was not a good fit for me.

They're reliable, my lawn is healthy, and everyone I've interacted with is nice and professional.

He does my yearly fertilizing, he is prompt and very professional. Royce is a great guy to work with. He is honest and treats me fairly. It’s nice to know this level of service still exists!

They were EXCELLENT! My wife dealt with them, during the clean-up and she said that they were very kind, courteous and worked hard, during their time here. I was amazed at the great job that they had done, when I arrived home.

We met with the owner of GL by Design on approximately 18th Sept. to get an estimate for a variety of tasks in our yard. He had good advice and seemed that he would be great to work with. We received an estimate for the work within a week but it was very vague so we replied via email to indicate we wanted the work done but wanted to be sure we both understood what was requested. In the email we indicated a list trimmings, shrub removal lawn treatment requests (more specific than estimate). No one responded to our email initially and at first it was not obvious that an online form required completion before your job could be scheduled. The contact in the office was always very polite and initially very responsive to emails and phone calls. Now on Nov. 18 the aeration and much of the trimming is complete. The work completed was good quality and they left yard very clean. Some bushes that were not in the request appear to be trimmed (hope that does not interfere with blooms next spring) but one shrub was not removed as requested and grub treatment was not done. We have been proactive from start to try to ensure we were aligned on work request and if an adjusted estimate was required, Mr. Simpkins had plenty of time to send this before any work was done. Since GL by Design is now completely unresponsive for a couple of weeks with several emails/phone calls from us, we want to cancel any remaining work and pay for the trimming that was done. The aeration invoice has been paid. We do not want to pay for the unfinished work thus want confirmation in writing this has been cancelled and estimate closed before we make our final payment. The lack of communication is very frustrating. We hope the owner will at last contact us to resolve and we will gladly complete payment.

This company may be good for the average home, but for an estate with slopes and additional tree and lawn details, they could not handle the job. Scalping the lawn or damaging the trees were the norm for the service provided. Often there were difficulties trying to reach anyone in the office to report issues. Repeated problems occurred for the same issues. Fertilization services were fine.

Their work has always been first rate. I have been using them for three or four years.

Went well. Excellent weed control. Would be nice if tech left note if lawn problems were spotted during fertilization.

Our lawn cutters are very thorough, professional, and friendly. On occasion, they have done additional work for us, such as, replacing a few rocks, misplaced by neighbor workers, and recently by picking up branches blown down by heavy winds on the weekend. We were very appreciative of this since we both have health issues which prevent us from many outdoor chores. There was one incident of damage which they responded to immediately and satisfactorily..

They were professional and did a good job. I would use them again.

GreenLawn by Design has some sketchy business practices. They do not send confirmation emails. They do not notify clients of jobs completed until a month later. They exercise no grace in compromising for misunderstandings. I requested a quote, and a month later received a bill for three mows! I had assumed that a different company I did hire had been mowing my lawn, but it turns out that GreenLawn by Design had also been mowing my lawn without my knowledge. I had no idea. I did not receive a email or any confirmation that service was coming. I did not receive invoices until a month's work had already been done, amounting to $270 of work that I had not accepted. I reasonably assumed the mowing was done by the other company I hired. When I received a call from GreenLawn to figure out the invoice issue, the woman on the phone seemed kind and understanding, but she would not budge. Although I had not accepted the proposal for weekly mowing and had no notice of the work (no emails, no calls, no confirmation of services), she would not provide me with any grace. She maintained that I am responsible for the entire bill, of which I was unaware for a month.

It took a while to get scheduled, but the did exactly what I wanted and it looks good. In the past, however, I used to always get 4 cu yards of mulch, which was more than enough, but the estimator from this company said that it was 6 cu yards. Not sure that I was ripped off or not.

They did an excellent job. Went over and above what was expected.

Use cheap stuff. Grass stays brown until really full summer. Our yard was last to become green in whole neighborhood.

I had all of my landscaped areas cleaned and mulched. It was 14 yards of much. They did an excellent job with edging of the areas. Only one area was not done to my satisfaction and they promptly came back to fix it. I use them for fertilizer application as well. I would hire them for any landscaping project.

The men did a very...very good job. Detailed and focused on doing a quality job. They were very polite and careful around the young plants.

I hired Greenlawn by Design to maintain my residence for 2018. They came out last week to perform the first services; spring cleanup and mulch. The crew did a great job and was very attentive. They took their time and finished the job right. I'm looking forward to more great service this summer.

great, they mowed once a week for the past few summers and fertilized when needed. The lawn looks good but still has a few weeds.
