The new fence looks nice and well constructed; however I did not think the wood would not be water treated. The fence was plain and I spent about $60 on waterproofing supplies + 3 hours of my time to treat the wood. I would had like them to have pre-treated the fence wood. The rest of my fence is made from pre-treated wood. I assumed but did not ask, so I guess that is my fault.. It would be nice if the sales guy "educated" me during the process. Also instead of attaching the fence to an end post like my old fence was designed, they attached part of it to my neighbor's end post, and I am hoping that does not present an issue in the future (it probably will). They should had put an end post next to his fence and kept my fence separate from his fence. I thought this job was very expensive for what was delivered for the end project, but I did see them spend a few hours onsite custom making the fence, so perhaps the price was justified for labor + materials. I would research and obtain estimates from other fence companies in the future. The workers left a lot of dirt and sawdust on my new patio. I still need to power wash it to try and get it out. Also, I cannot prove they did this, but a few days after the job was done, I saw my outdoor faucet was partially on and leaking, so I assumed they used my outdoor water supply. I had a puddle from the leak and just know that it will cost some extra $ on my water bill this month. Also in their contract under tiny print it says that "Accounts become past due seven (7) days after the job completion date. Thereafter finance charges are assessed at 21% APR, computed on the average daily balance." I got the remaining invoice in the mail a few days after the fence job was completed and sent in the check. I don't know about timing, but you need to consider making this a 15 or 30 day business cycle! because 1.) you don't communicate when you schedule and finish the job and 2.) people travel for a living and may be out of town and 3.) the mail is slow! 7 days is not enuff time! If I had actually read that the early morning I signed this... I probably would had not signed without making you change that item!

Glidden came out and completed our fence within two days. The entire experience was painless as they put in a black chain-link fence when we purchased our home. The owner came out to provide an estimate and worked with our schedule and I came home from work as the crew was putting the finishing touches on the paint. I can't say enough great things about Glidden! The price, quality and professionalism were outstanding and I'll continue to use them for any future needs.

The spots that they actually fixed looked great with no problems. The problem is that I asked them to quote on the repair of the fence that encloses my backyard. What I actually got was an estimate for fixing the problem associated with less than 25% of my fenced backyard. However, based upon the price quoted, I believed that I was getting a repair estimate for what I had asked "a quote to repair the fence that encloses my backyard". Unfortunately, 2 things went drastically wrong. First, the estimator did not understand the requirements of the job (even though I was home and could have easily explained the requirements if they just would have knocked on the door). Secondly, I assumed the estimate was for what I had asked and that the estimator had evaluated the entire fenced area as asked. Obviously, this did not happen, because the fixes only addressed those areas that were noted on the estimate. If I need to secure my fence for my small dogs, why would I choose to only address less than 25% of the fence repairs. I didn't even notice the other problem areas until one of my puppies exited the fence area by sliding under the fence because the tension wire was not properly attached. When I called Glidden Fence back asking for an explanation on why the entire fence was not repaired, I got comments like the following: "The fact that you could not understand it (the quote) is not our fault" - My perception: I'm an idiot. My claim to this is that if the estimator does not understand the job to be estimated, then they should ask and not just submit a quote for what they think I want (I was home and available, but the estimator never attempted to contact me). Long story short, I like the work that was done although I think it was extremely overpriced for what I got. The workmen are very social and friendly, but the office and estimator staff can be obnoxious at times. One example is that I asked them for a detailed itemization of the charges and they told me that they would not provide that because it was confidential pricing. Really....sounds to me like they are intentionally overcharging their clients! I understand that everyone needs to make a profit but come on...I just wanted you to itemize your charges....I was not disputing your charges (at least yet). All I can say is that fence wire must be filled with some sort of precious metal or something to justify the $595 charge for the small area that was actually addressed.

The fence looks great but we're not pleased with the workmanship. We were really happy with the front office people and the sales staff and the way they put down the line markers. They had us confirm and that was great. We were disappointed in the actual crew that they sent out. We had a few posts that had missing nails. We probably will have them come out and look at one of the fence junctions because it looked pretty bad. The guy who came out threw their trash at the back on the house. The front office people notified them that we saw it and they got it out. They made it really awkward from then on. We weren't happy with the crew who came out.

Overall, it went well, the only reason I didn't give them A's or excellent ratings across the board is because there was some room for improvement. Of about six fence companies I contacted, they were the only ones who actually provided an estimate which was definitely in their favor. The work was completed in less than an hour and the issues they fixed for the most part look great. Since the other companies that came out to look at the fence never provided estimates I cannot say for sure how the cost compares, but it did seem a bit on the high side to me for less than an hour's work and the minimal supplies that were required. The repairs themselves look good for the most part, however, one of the gates that they trimmed for better ground clearance was done very unevenly, almost scalloped, and just doesn't look great. In addition, where they straightened and reset the leaning post, I now see that there's a gap at the top of the section where it meets the next post, which would have been nice if they had reattached that as well. (Especially since that was one of the issues I had them fix on another area of the fence since I have large dogs.) I also never received an advance call letting me know when the work team would arrive, they just showed up as I was leaving for an appointment. And other than the bill for the balance, I have received no follow-up to make sure the repairs met my expectations. Overall, everything was fine, and I would probably hire them again but would make sure to emphasize with them that I want ample notification of when to expect them so that I can plan to be home while the work is being done and can make sure everything is completed to my satisfaction before they leave.

It is a bright vinyl fence and the vinyl is peeling off of it. They came out and replaced some parts of it, but did not really do a great job. They just can't stand behind whatever they are selling. Something that is there fault is that the vinyl is peeling, but you can't replace it. You know, I just blew $5,000. The price was probably fair. The quality was poor.

Glidden Fence installed a 6 foot red cedar fence around our backyard in May, 2015. They were responsive and professional. The work was high quality. I contacted them in September, 2015 because I'd noticed that one of the boards had not been nailed properly. We were also having some issues with the gate. They sent a team out free of charge to fix these issues. They also proactively replaced two boards that had been splitting. I am very satisfied with their work and would recommend them.

Were prompt and accommodating. I feel the estimate I was given was not enough for what needed done, but they completed both projects on budget.

They were prompt, efficient, and did excellent work. The fence looks better than I imagined. Its Perfect. I am very happy with the results.

Pleasant to deal with. Repaired a gate damaged by lawn mowers on a quality vinyl covered chain link fence they installed 30+ years ago. The fence still looks like new and now the gate matches. Came out a couple days after I called to give an estimate and repaired the gate a few days letter. Quality and professionalism all the way around.

Everything was professional from the initial contact with Jeff to the workers. No problems encountered. All work completed in a timely fashion. Cleanup was satisfactory. Would definitely use them in the future.

Very good. Provider was on time and professional. The quote was easy to understand and the price very competitive. We only went with another company because we had recently used them for a different project and they came in with the same bid.

Saleperson Jeff Charnes was very friendly and informative, providing the estimate and running a sting line where the fence was to go prior to the start of the job. He and the installation crew did a wonderful job! The crew of 4 installed the posts and returned just 3 working days later to put up the fence. From start to finish, we could not be happier with the work the 4 guys did and they way in which they worked and interacted with us! The final product is absolutely flawless; a fence that is both functional and decorative and one that we can be proud of for years to come.

Fencing looks great! It was done in a timely fashion. Had a minor issue and it was quickly corrected. Very professional! Pricing was better than a competitive bid. Used Glidden at our previous home also and were very satisfied. Would definitely use them again.

Glidden Fence was a wonderful company to work with. Their salesman, Bill, was punctual and knowledgeable. The cost of the fence was very reasonable and the installation was done in a very professional manner. The first day, all the posts were set in concrete in a 3 hour time frame and all the dirt was removed. The crew returned after the concrete had cured and installed the fencing and both gates in 2 hours. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and the overall installation. They were very good at cleaning up the yard, and the only clue that they had been there was the fact that I now had a beautiful fence enclosing my back yard that my 2 dogs utilize every day. If you are considering a fence of any kind, I would highly recommend you consider Glidden Fence for your project. You won't be disappointed.

Quick, affordable, professional, quality fencing! We are completely satisfied with our Glidden Fence experience. From estimate to installation, everything about the process was efficient and professional. The salesman providing the estimate was on time, personable, knowledgeable, quick and professional. We initially elected to install ornamental iron for only part of the fence, but after receiving such an affordable estimate, we decided to upgrade to installing iron fencing on three sides of the lot (choosing vinyl chain link for the less-visible back of the lot between houses and landscaping - the iron and chain link fences blend seamlessly and look great together). The office was very responsive and helpful when we called to make changes to the estimate. We also appreciated that the office was very responsive to email as well (which is helpful for those with a busy work schedule). The work was done on time and as promised (exactly as requested). Provider still has not answered my calls about coming out to the house and giving me a quote!!! What's wrong with these guys - don't they want the work??

Everything went PERFECTLY! They arrived on time on the day they were to give us an estimate and gave us a proposal within a few days (as promised). We agreed to have the poles set the next Friday and their crew arrived at the agreed time. It rained on Monday so they were unable to return to put up the actual fence, but they said they would come to do so on Wednesday and they did. Our fence turned out beautifully. Of note: they were the only company that we obtained estimates from that did not give us a hard time about wanting to run our chain link through some woods. Also, when they came out to give us an estimate, they actually listened to my wife's idea about running the cedar fence to a corner of our deck instead of to the side of the house (which would have crossed asidewalk) that all of the other companies had proposed. They also installed a beautiful gate on our deck. Pricing was similar or a little under other companies. The quality of the work was exceptional. We are VERY pleased with the job they did and would definitely use them again in the future!!!

It went well. They did not manage to hit the underground sprinkling system. It's a good thing. I wanted them to use some fencing that I already had. They removed a piece of fence and put it up where I wanted it. They held off all the extra pieces. They cleaned up after themselves. They did a good job. I think they're a little pricey but I was under a time crunch. They did a nice job.

The prices were very reasonable and the work was done very soon after the estimate. There was a problem with one of the horizontal posts, and they came right out to replace it. There were a few scratches in the fence and they fixed those, as well. I was impressed that they removed the dirt from around the poles.

We had Glidden Fence come out when we started building the wall to give their recommendation and to get an initial quote on what it would take to install the fence in the wall. Bill D. was the representative they sent out to review the project. Bill was extremely professional, very friendly to talk with and gave great recommendations. I told Bill that the wall project would likely take 3 weeks, and then I would call him to come back out. 9 MONTHS later the wall was finally finished (too long a story to tell here and for a different contractor). I called Bill and asked if he would mind coming back out. Bill came back and still honored his original quote. I was impressed on how patient Bill was with us through the process and how many time he came out to make sure we knew what we were getting. The fence was installed by a contracting crew that they used. They were also very professional and did a great job. I had one issue at the end of the fence. It had a gap that was larger than what I expected. I called up the front office and asked them to please fix it. They sent me an email and stated a crew would come back out and fix the fence. They would make sure that they fixed it to my satisfaction... and they did. You can't ask for more than that. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future if and when I need a fence installed. Great job.

Never recieved estimate. Called twice to follow up. Gave up and had someone else build fence.

Their work was fine and they did it in a timely manner. Price is probably comparable to the other places around. Pretty good responsiveness. They are very professional.
