Glidden Fence did an excellent job! We are extremely pleased with our new fence and everyone we worked or spoke with was completely professional, friendly, and courteous. They were on time with appointments and responsive in everyway. We used them 19 years ago for a fence and they are still a wonderful company with which to do business.....highly recommend!

This is the third fence that Glidden has put in for us. Again, they did a great job from start to finish. They removed an old fence, carted away the debris and replaced it with a new one. A visiting dog had knocked over a portion of our old fence (18 years old!) and we needed it replaced quickly. We were concerned because it was winter but they assured us they could do the work and they did. They were prompt, professional and fair with the pricing.

They were very good. They were always on time whenever they said they would be here for something. They worked quickly and it was a good experience with them, it was really pretty painless. They did what they said they were going to do in a timely manner and were in & out quietly, not big deal. I would definitely use them again.

The job turned out very well. They had to come back and straighten a few panels. They were very responsive and everything turned out great. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

We didn't have them do any work for us. The estimate that they gave was very high and I didn't like the person who came out, as I thought that he was condescending. I felt that the job was too small for him or something. He was here along with his crew fairly quickly. They came out on the same day I called them. He was terribly unprofessional, but not mean. He was not really eager to help.

They came out when the material was in, and did a good job. They were very efficient.

Could NOT have gone better. Sean showed up at 9:00 AM on the dot just as scheduled. I have seen the silly things on here about missing an appt by 20 minutes etc. Having worked for years in the services business I don't think people appreciate how hard it is to run projects and be across town at the exact time you are trying to be there. After arriving Sean introduced himself and did a walk around to get a quote together. The price he proposed was by far the best we recieved and the materials were first rate. When I added in the pay early discount and the Angies List discount we saved over $300. We went ahead with the order on a Wed evening and by Thursday the next week the complete install was done. The fence looks great. What really did it for me was Wendy or someone from the company calling AT&T to let them know that they accidentally cut a wire out back. For the record the entire neighborhoods phone lines go thru my yard so there was no way to avoid this. The next morning the AT&T guys showed up and we never had to lift a finger. It turns out it was a dead line anyway but just the follow up showed by Glidden was a real differentiator. It looks like my two neighbors are going to have fences installed by them as well. When I told Wendy this she reminded me to use my referral cards and they would send me $25 for each one that moves forward with the project. I can't recommend Wendy, Sean and their crew enough. -Tom

WOW, the entire process was a pleasure. From Sean doing the estimate, to Wendy on the phone answering all kind of questions we had. You can really see that everyone really cares about their product! Fence was built when promised and to our wishes, We chose the board on board with 2 gates. even with all the questions we had a little bit of a mix up... they quickly fixed the issues. I would highly recommend this company!

They were very clean and professional and explained everything and answered all questions. They were prompt and did what they said they were going to do.

They did a good job. I had a few concerns about how it was supposed to rain when they came out. They did a good job of reassuring me and explaining all of the guarantees. They came out right when they said that they would. I was pleased that they were careful around my vegetable garden. I thought that the price was reasonable, however I did not get any other estimates. I have found some splitting with the wood, however the fence looks very good. I would hire them again in the future.

I would not entertain using this company again.

The work looks great! They were very careful of my neighbor's plants. The fence is solid, straight and good looking. The workers were very nice and answered my questions. I wish I had called them two years ago. I would definitely call them again.

We had the estimate done one week and the fence built by the end of the second week. They were even able to be a bit flexible with the price. If you give them customer number 40590R you can get an additional $20 off your fence or deck installation. While the price was high, the quality of work makes up for it (and it was comparable to another estimate we received). They explained we would probably have to restain in 4-5 years but that seems pretty reasonable. We are very happy with our fence!

I think it went great. I had three companies that I got estimates from. They all came on a Friday. One company did not give me a written estimate and could not get back with me until Monday. Glidden had prompt response in coordinating with checking with underground utilitites and get the job done by the deadline. There were a couple delays, but they had reasonable explanations for them. They were able to get it up by Friday deadline. It is high quality fence and the work was done well. It was excellent craftsmanship. In addition to the fence they are putting up, I am putting up a couple sections of vinyl fence on myself and they provided some great information for completing the project.

No work performed... Glidden did not show up for the estimate.

This job was fantatic. Glidden came right out to give an estimate and we sent it through the homeowners association approval process. They were extremely helpful and felxible during the process as we made some changes to the original plan. Tom the owner came out to draw the string line and the crew came the next day to set the posts. Two days later the fence was completed. It's beautiful and the quality is very high - it looks to be of higher quaity than the fences built by other companies in the neighborhood. We are EXTREMELY pleased.

Their price was considerably better than the three other A-rated Angie's list companies we got quotes from. The job went very smoothly and right on schedule. The people I called in the office and at the site were all a pleasure to work with.

They were quick to get me the estimate and quick to get the repair completed.

I had them out last year to give a quote, now this year I was ready to get started. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the quote after all that time. And that is where my story begins: I decided to log onto Angie's list to get info to reestablish contact. The email address, as reported on Angies list is incorrect (or unmonitored). Three business days after submitting an email, I called them on the phone. I asked if they had my estimate from the prior year, and they did. I asked that they emailed it to me so that I can look it over. They were very responsive, and emailed me the quote. I replied to the email that was sent to me, asking for pricing on a different fence style (something they said they could do). Two business days later, I hadn't gotten a reply, so I called them again, I left a message with whoever answered the phone. A week went by with no one contacting me. If this is how they treat potential customers, I can't imagine how they treat actual customers. I went with another company for an $8400 fence. I don't know what the issue was?

They were great. They showed up on time and completed work perfectly as promised. They tried to use existing fencing where repairs could be made. They replaced what could not be reused. Their estimate was competitive with the others I received. I felt like they were trying to offer me a quality job while trying to keep the cost down. They are professional and honest. I would recommend them.

First they never showed for my estimate appointment.....I had to call them and they had messed up the time and date. Second, the job was not done right. The fence post they put in was cut 4 inches shorter than the top of the fence.....very little concrete was put in the hole to hold the post, and they never touched the rehang of the section of the fence. I called, they sent the crew back over later......then the crew lied to me that they did the job previously....but I knew they did because they told me they were sending the same crew that had done the work. So, I had to oversee them that they corrected the problems. Finally, they sent me an incorrect invoice saying I owed $245 when the estimate was for $245 minus $50 for messing up the appointment. When I called about ther error on the invoice.....they had the nerve to say they would not do any more work for me because I was upset with their company!!!!! I had already told THEM....I would NEVER use their company again...nor would I recommend them to anyone else!!!!

They showed up on time and provided excellent service. Did the work quickly and pretty much cleaned up after themselves. The workers smoked and we found one or two cigarette butts after they left

Glidden installed the fence in Oct 08. Wendy, who estimated the project, did a great job & left me feeling confident that Glidden would be a good company to do business with. Glidden sent out a crew to complete the work within 10 days of when I called to schedule the work. The fence looked great, but the gates looked horrible. Boards on both gates are uneven & jagged along the bottom. The arc cut on the top of both gates is off center & lopsided. Instead of using 6in planks along the whole width of one gate, they've got two 3in planks toward the middle. It's as if they ran out of 6in planks & used two scrap planks instead. One of the boards on the other gate was used as it had pencil marks & nail holes in it. I called Glidden & complained about the gates. I explained what the issues were & that the quaility of the gates didn't match the quality of the fence. They assured me that they'd send someone out to repair the gates. It took a total of three phone calls over a month for them to come out & "fix" the gates. One of the gates they did no repairs on. On the other, they replaced the used board, but didn't fix the poor arc at the top or the jagged bottom. I originally had them finish the fence so that the posts were on the outside. My HOA didn't approve & asked that planks be put up on the outside. I called Glidden at the beginning of Mar 09 & requested an estimate for the additional work. I also explained that I still wasn't happy with the gates. I was assured that an estimator would be out the following day & that an estimate would be left on my door. The following day came & went & no estimate, nor did I get one by the end of the week. I called Glidden the following Monday to see if they were going to get me an estimate. Rather than have the estimator call me, they gave me his cell number & asked that I call him! I called the estimator, Jeff, & left him a voicemail. Three days go by & no word from Jeff. I called Glidden again, & they try to give Jeff's cell number. I explained that I had already left Jeff a voicemail & that he needed to call me. Jeff finally called me back nearly two weeks after I had requested the estimate. I agreed to the price he quoted & complained about the gates. Jeff assured me that the gates would be fixed to my satisfaction & that the work would be completed by the end of the following week. The following week comes & goes & no work was done. I call Glidden, again, the following Monday & ask why nobody has been out to do the work. Again, they ask me to call Jeff directly. No, you have Jeff call me. Jeff gets back to me the next day & explains that the work wasn't done because it was overlooked & wasn't put on the schedule. He said the work would be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday, which it was, but they didn't fix the gates.

They were on time, on schedule with the same quoted price from 3 years ago.

I called early the morn after the storm because the fence was down between our neighbor's property and we both have dogs. I assumed they would be very busy and we'd have to get in line. They got out for an estimate that same afternoon(a Thursday)I gave the go ahead and they said it would probably be mid-next week before the repair because the utilities needed marked. The utilities were marked mid-Monday afternoon and a crew arrived several hours later and started mixing concrete for the new posts, did most of the work that afternoon and came back to finish the next morn.
