Jeff worked with us for weeks while we tried to make a decision on the type of fencing to use (chain-link, vinyl, iron). Gave us quotes on every option we were thinking about. When we finally decided to go with the wrought iron and gave Jeff a 50% payment, he said they would start on a Monday, just measuring and "pulling string" to lay out the design. Not only did they lay it out, but they started digging the holes! The installers, Oscar & Eddie, were wonderful to work with. I know they would have preferred to drive their truck on the yard to haul their material, but they moved everything ... trip after hot, grueling trip ... in their wheelbarrow (the ground was soft from all the rain & the truck would have done alot of damage). Ten days later, through heat, rain & a holiday weekend, we have a beautiful fence! Glidden, by the way, installed the split-rail fence we replaced several years ago & did a great job with that, too!

It went very well. Glidden was extremely responsive and was able to book our fence quickly and completed the work in two days. The employees cleaned up everything when they were finished. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

They were very prompt and professional. They provided an estimate for us and I thought it was very fair.

They had a great price. I really liked the estimator that came out. They whole project worked out well. They were top of the line. They made an unpleasant project pleasant.

Great to work with - they proposed options and gave ideas, and the price was competitive (I checked 3 other companies). Install took only about 3 days for over 300' of fence. It was important for us to keep a straight top line on the fence, and their install was perfect. I would definitely recommend.

Received multiple quotes for fences and decided to go with Glidden for the following reasons: price, turn around to installation and availability of product (Ameristar steel classic.). Worked with Jeff who came out on a Saturday (called on a Friday) to provide a quote and get measurements. Measurements were right on and didn't need to be performed again. After we received the quote we spent a couple of days deciding if we wanted to change the type of fencing we wanted and worked contacted Jeff who provided modified quotes so we could see the price differences. After we signed the quote to go with them we put our down payment down and Jeff came out a few days latter to mark the fence location (we had to get a survey done, went with SEA Group, A+ job). After the boundary was laid out we decided to do some changing with the type of fencing and let Jeff know. Jeff was okay with it and gave me a verbal commitment. However there was some lack of communication between him and the install team. When setting the post they placed some in the wrong spot and forgot a few. They were out the next day to fix. Also on the day of installation they brought the wrong panels out. If my wife wasn't home they would have had the wrong panels on and would have had to remove. They went back to the shop and got the correct ones. I also asked them to leave the post dirt onsite so I can use, but they removed. Communication, I think that there was a lack between the company and customer during the installation of the fence (Thsi si the reason for the 'C' grade in Punctuality). We did not receive any communication on when workers were going to be onsite only estimates (May start early next week). I know that there was a lot of rain and backups were occurring and work could not be performed. However a 1 minute phone call to say, we will be out 'x" around 'x' or we will be out in 'x' mins/hours can go a long way rather than than have the customer wonder. I know that there seems to be a lot of negative above, but I want you guys to be aware of some of the issues. You quickly resolved anything that was incorrect. Overall the fence looks wonderful and I expect it to last for many years to come. Jeff you were a pleasure to work with. Your promptness, availability and flexibility were greatly appreciated. I emailed Glidden Fence Company through Angie's List with a detailed request for an estimate and a specific request to call me to setup a time for an appointment. I got an email back from (I presume) one of the employees, Jeff Charnes thanking me for the email on the same day which I was impressed by. However, his emailed said "Thanks for the email, how can I help you? Mr. Charnes obviously did not read my email because he would have called me as I requested if he had. I emailed him back with the full explanation (again) and asked him to call me to set up a time. It is now a full 8 days later and I still have heard nothing from the Glidden Fence company about coming out to do an estimate. I am not sure what happened on their side but I will not call them again because the follow through and attention to detail has already been poor. Cedar Creek Fence Company is the only company that actually called me back, scheduled an appointment, showed up on time and provided an estimate. 4/11/2011 - I just got a call from Glidden asking me if I still wanted an estimate. Better late than never but still 12 days after I was expecting a phone call.

I knew that I could rely on them. They are great people. The fence is perfect; we are so pleased. When they came out they helped us decide where we would like the fence because we have an odd shaped deck as well. They drew up the plans and they efficiently got the work done.

We spent $8000 on that work. The job they did with the fence turned out excellent and it is still holding up and is fine. We would tell other members that they were really easy to work with. They were professional and completed the job on time. We had a problem and they fixed it right away.

Glidden fence was great to work with from beginning to end. I called Wendy to see if they had any financing available, and she offered me ninety days same as cash. We originally had requested 4' black vinyl chain link, and she had someone out the next Monday to check out the property and string the fence. We decided after they had been out that we wanted to change from 4' to 6', so my husband called Wendy and she said no problem! They were able to come out two days later to set the fence posts, then came back two days later to finish the fence. The workers were polite and quick, and made sure that where I wanted the gate to go was the same as what they had on their print. Everything looks amazing and I'm so happy I chose Glidden!

They did a very good job on the repair but the price was way too high. They are very helpful. I have them deliver the materials a week ahead so I am able to prepare it. They are very punctual as well and really do a great job.

The whole experience was excellent. I had an estimate done in late August at which time I wasn't certain I wanted to have it done this fall. That gave me an idea of what it would cost. In late September, I decided I could go ahead with it. I changed my mind about gate placements a few times, and Glidden was very accommodating. The work began on 10 -28 and was completed the following Tuesday - six business days in all. I thought the tear-out of the old fence might mess up the yard, but it didn't, and all the fencing and poles were removed quickly. My neighbors, who have a couple of large dogs, depend on a section of my fence to enclose their yard. Glidden put up temporary fencing to close the gap until my fence was completed. The fence look great, is stretched tight and straight, and the gates swing level and true - real craftsmanship!

I received an email stating "Are you looking for wood, ornamental iron or what?". I responded but did not see a reply for several weeks. The response from Wendy below is much appreciated and it is understood that there can be issues with email communication. I do also believe however, that in the current economy, consumers have the right to expect excellent communication at all times, especially when a company makes initial contact, regardless of the communication method. I made my request of several companies and was not impressed with the content of the response in this case, aside from the communication delay which has now been addressed. Although we chose not to move forward at this point, I would indeed do business with Glidden in the future, because this company is clearly passionate about service and appears to believe in continually trying to improve.

We had a new fence installed by Glidden 2 years ago. They did a great job. We had 4 boards that had warped and called to see if they would replace them. We were prepared to pay for them, but they showed up the next day and replaced all 4 for free since our fence was pretty new. Great Customer service and pride in their work.

Contacted them for an extimate for vinyl fence for my yard. Bill came to take measurements and provided information, advice on options and ideas for the fence. He arrived on time, made a drawing of the yard and emailed the bid within 48 hours. I decided to use another company but would certainly consider calling them again.

Very responsive. Gave me an estimate within a couple of days of my call. I mailed back the signed estimate and the utilities marked their lines within the same week. A couple of days later I came home to find the all the work done and everything cleaned up neatly. They mailed me the bill. I've used them before for both a chain link fence and this fence and have been very pleased with the work every time.

They did a great job. I thought the price was a bit high, but you do get what you pay for.

The service overall was great. I only had to call them back (a couple of times) for a minor adjustment and it was handled without any disagreement. I would use them again and I acutally never met them face to face!

Quoted best price. Crew was very professional. We are very happy with the fence. This was the best experience I've had with a contactor. I've had some horrible service from A-rated contractors off of Angie's List. I didn't even find these guys on Angie's List. I'm done with the whole Angie's List thing. They were recommended by a neighbor. This is the only way to really get a reputable company.

It was a very good experience. They were very prompt about getting out. Our dog continued to jump the fence so it was a bit of an emergency. They came out the day after we called and had the fence up with in the week.

They scheduled at our convenience, were here promptly and did a beautiful job. The work crew was courteous, ultra-professional, and thorough including clean-up. They went out of their way to explain options, make suggestions and get our opinion. Great job by a great local company that deserves your business.

Work went well. They set the posts one day and then returned a few days later to finish. They were so good to work with. The guys were careful and hand dug it all knowing we had an irrigation system. As they were working I changed my mind on a few things. Very patient! They said it was important for the customer to be happy. The deck looks great. Glidden did an iron fence for us and we have been very satisfied both times. Would definitely recommend them.

The Glidden team was great to work with. We had to replace about 60 feet of fence. They came and gave a quote quickly after we contacted them. Due to some issues with where the original fence (whch was in place when we bought our home) and the actual property line were located we had to make several changes to the plan. Glidden was very cooperative and responded quickly to each change. They also suggested a change in design to make the fence more visually appealing as it transitioned from one elevation to another. We would use them again.
