Answered initial call quickly, arranged appointment for measuring and provided estimate at that time. Price was equal to one other company, and $1000 less than a third. Install was scheduled promptly, string line was placed and adjusted as necessary. the next day posts were placed, and two days later boards were put in place. The fence looks great, is exactly what we wanted, needed, and expected. the crew who installed were pleasant, efficient, and did a great job. we couldn't be happier (unless it had been free, of course!). The dogs are now free to run around and we are all grateful.

About two weeks after I met with the Glidden rep. at my home to discuss what I wanted in the way of a fence, workmen arrived and installed the posts in cement. Two days later, they came back and built the fence from scratch, lattice strip by strip, in one afternoon/evening. The workmen were very professional and cleaned up well afterwards. The whole process was painless and it was obvious that these were experienced fence builders.

We are happy with the product and quality so far. Wendy Glidden was very responsive, but others were less reliable. If they fixed follow-up and response time it would make a big difference.

3 week wait for installation as told from the beginning. Was told fence would be down for 2 days--but was 3 days instead. The finished product looks good. The clean-up from the installers was poor--pices of chain in the yard, pieces of wood not picked up, and a drinking cup left behind.

I called Glidden Fence because a co-worker had recently added a fence to their property and recommended them. My co-worker priced three companies from Angie's List and Glidden offered the best prices. Do to the fact they had already done some leg work for me, I thought I would just hire them. I emailed and made an appointment for the next week, Bill showed up on time and was extremely nice and professional. He gave me several different quotes for fence (using a neighbor's fence and without using neighbor's fence), I also asked for a quote for adding an iron handrail to the front of our house. Before they began we decided on using the neighbor's fence and adding the handrail. I had not yet bought the house but asked for it to be scheduled the day I got possession of the home, which they got scheduled for me. However, I made the error of not asking permission first from my HOA so the dates had to be pushed back. Glidden Fence accommodated my error and got me scheduled as soon as they could (the following week), they even helped me with some paper work with the HOA, which was appreciated. Prior to the work being completed (it's a week process - which was not explained to me prior to the work beginning), I pre-paid for the fence and the handrail. The installed the fence and it looked wonderful but they had forgotten to ad the handrail for my front porch. I called and left a message on their office phone and sent an email letting them know. No one got back with me. I called the a few days later and again sent an email- no one got back with me. A week later, I finally got a woman on the phone (not the Wendy- the regular office manager) and she assured me she would get to the bottom of it and give me a call back the following day, but she did not. I didn't hear back for another week so I called again and finally got a hold of Wendy. Wendy apologized and said she was out of the office the week prior and was trying to get caught up. The iron handrail was finally put in two weeks later. The process was just frustrating. I believe this is a good company but I just got them on a bad couple weeks.

Overall, I am happy with the fence besides 3 points. I have small dogs and in the contract was written that I had 2 small dogs and thus the fence needed to be close to the ground. Although they did install the fence close to the ground, one 8-ft section slats were placed far enough apart that my dogs thought they could get through. Also, they did not connect the new fence to the old fence so there were wide gaps at both ends of the fence. I mentioned this at the end of the install, as they were leaving my house, and they added some planks to connect the two, but these planks were weak, split, and not secure at all. I was confident that this would not last for one summer. I called the company and explained the issue and they corrected both issues without question. The third issue is a bigger issue that was just realized recently. My contract includes a 4ft (=48 inches) wide gate for access to my backyard, since my backyard is elevated from my sunken driveway. I need the access point. They only installed a 33-inch gate, which is just an "ok" size, and doesn't allow much access for equipment. This has caused a problem. Now, it is time for me to do my summer landscaping and the companies cannot get into the backyard after we measured the gate, it is not big enough for their 42-inch equipment. If I had noticed this earlier, I would have complained to the company about the size of the gate. If there was a problem with the installation of the proposed size of a gate, which was suggested by the estimator from the company when he was writing the estimate, then they should have pointed that out to me, that they were unable to install a 4ft gate and instead can only give me 33inches. But, I just realized it today, when I need to use it. Companies now are debating having to tear down one 8ft section of fence in order to provide access to my backyard since the installed gate is not the correct size according to our contract to allow for the work to be done.

I had to wait four weeks for the install, but it was worth it. They were the losest price among four "A" rated companies. I could see why they were in high demand, and didn't mind the wait. Other companies did not seem to really want to bother with it, based on their bid, and attitudes reflected. The three day install was very professional. First day was removal, and install new posts set in concrete. Day two letting concrete dry. Day three was installing new fencing, and cleanup. They also installed a temp fence to keep the neighbor's dog out of my yard. They will do you a good job, and appreciate your business.

I used Angie's list to submit requests to 3 fencing companies. Glidden being one of them. The other two companies got back with me immediately. Glidden took one week to respond to the request. When they finally came out to the house to scope out the job they sent someone who had not been in the field for multiple years. This individual was nice, fairly professional, but had no background in the vinyl fencing products that we were interested in. She told us that she would have to take the information back to someone who knew the products and would send us a quote the next day. She took our email address, but did not leave us her name, her business card, or any other contact information. Needless to say, it is now about 5 weeks later, and Glidden has not contacted us back. Based on other information, I was primarily using Glidden as another comparison for this work and probably was not going to use them anyway. For that reason, I did not push the issue and contact Glidden asking where my quote was. But, it is not the customer's responsibility to follow-up with the business as to if they are doing their work. It is the responsibility of the buisness to do what they say they will do, and get agreed to information to the customer. The fact that Glidden took a week to respond to the request, sent an unqualified person to my house, did not leave any contact information, and then never returned information for the quote tells me they either do not run a professionally managed company, or they did not care about my business. Glidden missed out on my business (>$5,000), which went to another company that did an outstanding job.

I chose them because they were on Angie's List. They were very professional and showed up when they were supposed to for the estimate and to do the work. They were not the lowest bid but they were the most competitive and they gave me the Angie's List discount.

Estimate process was quick and painless. They were willing to come late afternoon, which helped me get home from work in time. Their estimate can in right about the same as other companies in the area with similar product offerings. We were on a pretty tight budget but really wanted to get the fence done, and Glidden was by far the best at trying to help us get the cost down to a point we were comfortable with. Installation was quick and painless and the fence looks great!

Beautiful fence and very smooth process. They were able to come to the house to provide an estimate within 2 days and then start the work 10 days later. Posts were installed on Tuesday morning and the chain link was installed on Friday afternoon after letting the concrete set. The installation team was led by Roberto. They were very fast and professional.

Also got an Angie's discount and a discount for paying within 5 days of completon!Very prompt and professional, cleaned up everything. Would absolutely use again!

They were polite, prompt, and did a superb job replacing the old posts. They removed and replaced old boards very carefully and moved them according to my specifications. I would highly recommend this company.

My experience with Glidden has been nothing short of excellent. I used Angie?s list to get four quotes from the top recommended Indianapolis fence companies. Each of the quotes was post an onsite visit. The cost range from lowest to highest was around $1500. Glidden was not lowest but we selected them on the following factors. Bill who did the estimate picked up on several items that the others did not. He advised more space round our AC unit, he offered to string line the fence for approval and offered advice on look of the fence. Glidden removes the soil at no cost. This was only offered by two quotes. Glidden offered Angie?s List Discount and early payment discount. Glidden had a better warranty of gates and fence. Wendy was easy to deal with and once I had approval from HOA (Another less enjoyable experience) booked the job within three days. The post crew did put the fence posts up in an afternoon, left zero trace of the visit other than the posts. The fence crew returned after a day?s setting time. The put the rails, gates and boards up and left, again not a trace of their visit. The team swept my drive way and the street for any soil or wood shavings. They did a completely spotless job. The fence looks great. It will keep those ?pesky kids? of my yard ;-)

Overall - Outstanding job! We were impressed because we were getting estimates from 3 companies to get wrought iron railing installed in the front of our home, from the house, squared around the stoop and down the steps. The first company came out but didn't have a sample of the product to show us and extremely expensive estimate. Glidden's representative came out, professional approach and provided a written estimate onsite. The installation was approximately 3-4 hours, the workmen were considerate, worked quietly and proficiently. The wrought iron is a good and sturdy quality. We'll definitely use them again!

Overall, I could NOT have ever dealt with a better company! Truth is, because of timing of closing on the house and having to have a safe place for my four dogs, I worried extensively about the fence being installed. From the first call to Glidden to the last handshake with the crew upon finishing - everyone was wonderful, professional and compassionate! Wendy was very helpful in setting up an appointment for an estimate quickly. When I explained to her my dilemma about being able to move with my dogs, she explained how Glidden understood the "dog factor" and would make sure that they completed the fence ASAP. Not only that, but should there be any issue with completing the permanent fence due to weather, Glidden would install a temporary fence to keep the dogs in, while the permanent fence was being completed - free of extra charge! How greeat is that?! Immediately, I was reassured and felt confident that is was the company I wanted to work with. Bill came out and provided the estimate for me. He was punctual, professional, and made excellent suggestions for things and choices I had not yet considered. His years of experience in the business shined through! The installation crew was punctual, professional, courteous, and cleaaned up every thing in the yard upon completion. Tony and Arturo, and Tom worked through their lunch, on the coldest day so far in 2012, to make sure the fence was completed in time to move my dogs in. I felt so bad for them being so cold out there! But I am so grateful to them for their dedication and work ethic to completing my fence! It's clear the everyone at Glidden understands customer service. No matter what the reason, be it kids, privacy, aethetics, or dogs, GLIDDEN GETS IT! I would gladly call them again! I called to arrange a quote, and the appointment was made promptly. The sales person arrived on time, was thorough and personable. He told me what to expect for the duration of the project and about when they could start. He was considerate of my need to finish the job quickly because I have a dog that needs to be contained in the yard. I was not called again to confirm the start date, which would have been a small improvement they could make. The process occured pretty much as described. The fence is beautiful. I found three boards that were about an inch short along the back length of fence. Not sure why, but it doesn't affect the functionality, so it's not a big problem for me. My yard was left in good condition. Everyone concerned was very friendly and polite. I would be happy to work with this company again.

Great Customer Service!! I have used Glidden fence many times over the years. recently a corner of my privacy fence that is over 10 yrs old came loose and needed repair. I called Glidden and asked for an estimate to repair the fence, when they came out they fixed it while they were here and left an invoice that said "No Charge". Thats customer service!! Glidden is terrific to work with. They are prompt and reasonable.

Glidden sent out a gentlemen who gave us an estimate. He also suggested different ways to fence in the backyard. He gave us a price for galvanized chain link as well as black coated. The workmen came at appointed date/time. They worked tirelessly throughout the day to set the poles. This ground was a rock quarry years ago. Setting the poles was way harder than expected. The auger bit even broke once. They never complained, kept working. Each pole was set straight and true before they applied cement. The poles were allowed to set for a few days. They return on the date they gave us, set the fence. Part of the fencing was in a wooded area. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the first phone call to the work crew. Everyone was professional and worked very hard to give us a great product. The fence is very nice and fits the home

We were very satisfied with them. They went out of their way to make sure everything was as we wanted and needed it to be. They were very efficient in installing the fence. They did a very good job and it was worth every penny! They were very prompt.

This was a great experience. After getting estimates we decided on Glidden Fence Co., they were highly rated and a coworker had used them before with great success. The price was highly competitive and we decided to go with Glidden due to the Angie's List reviews. They promptly setup and estimate time and came out the following week. The estimate was well laid out in detail so we could turn all the documents into our HOA. The crew did a good job of keeping the hard clean during the entire install process. We had an issue with the fence after completion, but after a phone call a crew was sent out the same day to fix the problem I was highly impressed by the customer service from the estimate to calling in and talking to the office. I would use or recommend this company again.

I called Glidden Fence Co. for an estimate on removing a straight section of chain link fence and replacing it with cedar privacy fence. Wendy scheduled an appointment for Bill to give the estimate. He arrived on time, measured the area, gave suggestions, and showed us photos of fences from which to choose. He left us with literature, and a written itemized estimate. I called a few days later and ordered the work to be performed, also signing and sending in the written estimate and a deposit. I was given an install date, weather pending. Bill stopped by to see if the cable locators had been here. As soon as the cables were marked, the fence crew arrived. Within a few hours they had removed the chain link fence, measured and dug all post holes and set the posts in concrete. The workers were very careful about not harming my wife's flowers and paid close attention to detain on the installation of the new fence. I saw the crew leader take a post back to the truck and replace it with another that he thought was a better looking and straighter post. I appreciated that kind of attention to details! The crew returned a few days later after the posts had thoroughly set and installed the rest of the wood. The fence in straight and looks great. I love the smell of fresh cedar. We couldn't be happier.

Had to gave pickets on my fence replaced due to the dog chewing them off. They did a great job, the only problem what the communication on when they would be out. It was during the rainy months, and I will use them again for a project. They are great to work with,
