Overall, it went horribly. From the start, the owner was slow in getting back to us, including the initial bid itself. The job took considerably longer (six months longer than predicted) than predicted by the owner, and the owner regularly would not respond to our calls, would not let us know what to expect next, did bits and pieces of the job then went AWOL for lengths of time. We regluarly requested that he simply let us know what to expect, by e-mail, phone or text, whatever was easiest for him. No responses most of the time. The job dragged in to Winter, then Spring, and we had to just wait and wait. Sometimes workers would show up unexpectedly, and many times workers did not show up when we were told they would. It was ridiculous. The owner presented in a mostly professional fashion, and the work he did himself was of a good quality. Some of the sub-contractors' work was very shoddy. Many extras were promised that never took place, such as completing caulking on window and door trim, putting in a solar roof vent then getting a ridge vent instead, trimming out the inside of our garage window and our basement windows, cleaning up the mess in our attic after new chimeny was put in, and the list goes on. All the basic work was finally completed, and we decided to let these smaller issues go. Ten months after the initial bid, we got the job done that was predicted to be done in three months time.
