He has always been excellent. A little slow to finish the project, but the quality has been excellent.

Jerry was very straightfoward with us. He told us what the unknowns were (cottage was a former barn), what the various construction alternatives were, and how they could affect the cost. He was open to us doing the painting and varnish touch-up. Jerry cheerfully made several last-minute design changes. There was a double archway that we wanted to make into one. It was load bearing, and he might have installed a monstrous header. But he took beams that rested on the arch and nailed them into the arch, allowing the new arch to hang down less than the original! He took great care to salvage as much material as possible for reuse in the kitchen and elsewhere in the cottage. He also advised us of potential plumbing and electrical problems so that we could correct them while everything was still torn up. We gave him a less-than-perfect marks on responsiveness and punctuality because some days we thought he'd be working and he didn't tell us until he returned why he was unable to come. That wasn't an issue for us, though, and we hired Jerry to do another project after this one.

His first name is Jerry and he is a friend of ours also. He used to coach our daughter for soccer. He did really good work. We are married for 35 years and he did it for our 25th wedding anniversary. My mom and dad gave me money for that. The floor is still looking great. He and his dad worked together and got it done very quickly and did not leave a mess so that really stood out for me. I would use the company if I could ever get hold of him. I am sure now he has an official name for his company. Back then he was doing the work as a startup. Now that he has an official name, I think it will be easier to get hold of him.

Had an emergency with a water heater that died and started to leak. I shut off incoming water and drained it down. I then called around to plumbing companies for a 50 gal natural gas water heater with a good warranty. I also research on line. Quotes I received on a comparable water heater were for the same warranty of six years. I found a better water heater at Menard's with a 9 year warranty with 1st year for everything. Water heater + install = $725 compared to lowest bid with plumber at around $925.00. Some plumbing companies had no availability. Jerry Urbanus worked me in and he said it would be two to three hours and it was under two hours.

After some initial communication challenges, everything went very well. He was accepting and flexible when challenges arose and we ran out of floor tile (my fault). We also had some scheduling challenges that he was very flexible for. He laid tile on my very uneven basement bathroom floor and it looks gorgeous! Overall, the work was done satisfactorily and the price was right.

BE SPECIFIC ABOUT DATE & TIME EXPECTATIONS DURING PLANNING DISCUSSIONS. SINCE WE'VE HAD A ROLLING LIST OF SMALLER PROJECTS, WE DID NOT RECEIVE PRIORITIZED PLANNING. A VERY NICE PERSON TO WORK WITH. HE HAS HELPED PUT A LOT MORE CONVENIENCE AND USABILITY FACTOR INTO A 32YR OLD, ILL-MAINTAINED HOUSE WE BOUGHT JUST BEFORE WE HAD 2 CHILDREN!
