ADS installed my kitchen in 1995 through my custom home builder. I contacted them about replacing the doors and upgrading some features of my kitchen cabinets. They replied by email that new doors would run between 3000 and 5000 dollars. I guess that was to make sure I understood the size of the project and would not waste their time. I replied (by email) that I was interested and wanted an appointment. I also asked if they did counter-tops and installation of internal upgrades to my cabinets (like pull-outs for pots and pans). Instead of recognizing that I have a fairly large project in mind, they responded with their showroom hours and said I would need to bring in a door and a list of how many doors and drawer-fronts I needed. WHAT??!! I'm pretty shocked that my $10,000 budget is not worth their time. If they actually read my email, they would know that I'm not just replacing a few doors in a small kitchen. They might even be able to trace my original kitchen order from 1995 and see that it was a lot of cabinets. Maybe, they are just too swamped with clients at this time. But, I will be finding another vendor.

When the cabinets arrived and the cartons were opened we found that the paint job had been done poorly and that there were many indentations in the wood that looked like small gashes. The quality of what we were seeing was clearly not at the same level as the sample panel that we had used as the basis for our original decision to buy these particular cabinets. We contacted George immediately and the next morning he personally came to the house and inspected the cabinets and agreed with our assessment. He arranged for a more expensive, higher grade of cabinet to be manufactured as replacements, and did not charge us extra for the higher cost. The new cabinets arrived on a few weeks later without any defects.

We took a professional drawing of our kitchen counter top plan for which we wanted a quote. The gentleman said he would get 2-3 quotes and get back to us in 2-3 days. After 3 weeks I called and was told the salesman would call us. After 2 more weeks I called again and was told the same thing. Several weeks later, I called and asked to speak to the owner and was told he was out. A very nice lady said she would check into our request and get back with us "by the first of the week". It's been 2 weeks and we still haven't received a phone call. We WOULD NOT do business with them now, but since we have done business with them in the past, we are extremely disappointed with their lack of interest and service.

Designer was friendly but overall I was very disapointed with the lack of follow through. After the cabinets were ordered the designer failed to follow through as I had hoped and left all problem solving to the installer. I was especially disapointed because I made it clear that I was paying more for the cabinets than I would have from Lowes but in return I expected better service. Basically, I did not want to act as the contractor on the job and wanted her to oversee the installation. She assured me that the company provided excellent service and she would be involved through out the process. Actually though once she measured the room, she never visited the job site. Clearly she was only interested in selling the cabinets which would be fine had that been agreed to at the beginning.

Did not get to the service stage with this company because of poor follow-up and responsiveness to our query regarding defective cabinets that they had originally installed in our home before we purchased it. Offered to check on a discount but their estimate was $400 higher than two others we were able to obtain. We were given their name as a recommendation and after over 2 weeks of getting the runaround from their sales representative and an equally disinterested response from their supervisor we took our business to another company.

They were just great. Their prices were way better than that of anyone else. They were also more knowledgeable than anyone else. They helped us, when we had problems. We thought they were fabulous.

They where very friendly. They where very professional about the job. They where always easy to get a hold of when I tried to call them when I needed help.

John Gray with ADS was very professional and responsive. I didn't go with ADS this time, I have in the past for entire kitchen and mudroom. Their quote was simply higher than the company I chose to do business with, which I also had experience with as well so I was comfortable. I recommend ADS and John to anyone looking for cabinet or counter-top work or to include in the bidding process.
