+ -1 moreMitch was hired to consult and install a wood floor in a workshop loft space that we desired to make into a gym. After inspection of the proposed project space, he provided an estimate which included variations based on the wood options available to him. We selected Ash as we desired a lighter shade of wood and as a tribute to the tree's plight against the Ash Bore. The project was delivered on time and on budget. There were no surprises or variations from the scope and we could not be happier with the results. We received a very high quality product! Very cool to receive a floor constructed from a local tree that became victim of the bore. Mitch and his team are the very best at what they do!

Description of Work: Mitch replaced all the molding in our living room, dining room and entrance hallway. He also framed out a built in book shelf. Mitch was conscientious, on time, and professional. He kept to the original time table, and cleaned up after himself. We would hire him again for sure. Mitch is accommodating and very knowledgeable.

Mitch and his team did an outstanding job building this unit for us. He was very detail-oriented and worked like a thorough professional. We would say he went above and beyond what was agreed upon and we really appreciate his work. He could have rushed and finished the job within the deadline but he took an extra day to ensure the product was well made! + 0 moreMitch did a great job and we are so, so happy with the results. He provided professional results at a price much lower than his more corporate, higher-end competitors. The project did take a little longer than we had hoped (both my husband and I as well as Mitch) but it was all worth it in the end. Mitch also allowed us to do the painting ourselves to keep the costs down. This really helped us a lot and wasn't something other contractors were willing to do. He provided lots of tips and advice on how to paint them correctly for best results. We really appreciated that. We love our custom built-ins and I recommend Mitch to anyone else who may need similar work done in their home!

He came for an estimate to replace a patio double door and frame with a sliding door, and explained in great detail why the original install was failing, what needed to be done, several options to solve the problem, and that he is an advocate of "best practices". Due to his busy in-demand schedule, it was many weeks before he could actually complete the job. Once on the task, he was very careful to minimize impact to our existing structures, and to our own daily schedule. He was also careful to maintain an organized worksite with clean-up at the end of each day. The finished project looked as if it had never been any different ? it blended right in. His awareness of "green" issues and trying to minimize costs in general was important to us. He's very courteous and informative. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Mitch replaced a patio door that was original to the house, and was developing some rot in a lower corner.

+ 4 moreThe tile work. electrical, and drywall was in turn subcontracted to subs of his recommendation. The work he completed was professional grade, Mitch is a perfectionist, and a tool nut. He loves his tools and uses them to great advantage. He made new upper cabinets, raised panel, and an arch to connect, then put crown molding to top off everything. Both bathrooms turned out twice as nice as I expected, but also cost more than I had hoped, but that was not his fault, the tile work was 50% of the job, but was worth it in the end. I would definitely use him again, and plan to do so when the kitchen is remodeled. There are two thing I would ask him to do differently. The first is to manage the subs. Although he brought in great subs in, it was not clear if he was acting as a general contractor, or not, and left details of working with the subs to me (sometimes), which caused some confusion. The second is that he work from a fixed bid. He came in on a variable time and material bid, but when he went over his estimate, he agreed to change to a fixed bid for the remainder of the work so it was not an open ended job, that was very nice. He ended up eating some of the cost as things always happen that are not anticipated, then there has to be some negotiating as to who should cover those costs. Mitch was always honest and fair in those negotiations, and we are very happy with the final outcome.
Description of Work: I had a detailed list made for the job, here it is as submitted Guest bathroom 1. Remove a. stool, vanity, medicine cabinet, leave bath enclosure i. Save vanity cabinet, stool ii. Vanity to be refinished b. shower doors c. flooring (linoleum, and backer) d. trim e. drywall to studs, 4 walls, leave ceiling in tact 2. Install a. Walls i. proper backer boards and moisture protection to all surfaces as per manufacture recommendation, outside wall above shower stall to include vapor barrier ii. Install new light bar above mirror iii. new GFI in existing outlet iv. Tile 1. To height of 42" including crown detail 2. wall above shower enclosure using tumbled marble mosaic in 12"12 sheets 3. Tile consists of tumbled marble mosaic in 12"12 sheets 4. Crown consists of 2/4" travertine pencil molding, decorative 4"x21" middle, 2" tumbled marble crown molding 5. 4 walls, including behind vanity (will act a back splash) 6. Tile next to shower above 42" with crown detail to connect lower wall with upper wall 7. Grout with proper grout 8. Seal all tile and grout with proper sealer as per manufactures recommendations b. Floor i. proper backer boards as per manufacture recommendation ii. Tile floor with 6" tumbled marble tiles with 4" decorative inserts on the bias iii. Grout with proper grout iv. Seal all tile and grout with proper sealer as per manufactures recommendations c. Ceiling: Finish and paint area above chair rail with moisture and mold resistant paint d. Shower stall i. new fixtures in shower (head and handle) ii. modern bowed shower curtain rod iii. fill screws holes from old door with buttons or matching epoxy e. Refinish vanity cabinet (light sand and Danish or tung oil, wax) and reinstall f. granite counter top i. new fixtures ii. vessel bowl iii. connect plumbing g. Install new framed mirror above vanity h. stool i. storage cabinet above stool j. towel racks and tissue paper holders k. new wood trim around door

Description of Work: Removed rotten siding and backing from sun room, repaired material under old siding, and installed new siding. Sun room had significant water damage including a door and the floor. Mitch repaired or replaced everything as needed. Room measured about 25 feet by 12 feet. He also repaired damage to our garage caused by a trash truck. We highly recommend Mitch.

+ 1 moreThings went well considering the materials were mis-ordered by the box store twice. That delayed the final installation of the skylights for 3 weeks. However, Mitch worked with us and was flexible with his schedule to make sure the job was finished as soon as possible. Since the job required some outside roofing work as well, weather played a major role in the scheduling and completion of the project.
Description of Work: Mitch installed two tubular skylights for me in our house. His work was done in a very professional manner, and quality of work was excellent. He was easy to schedule with and very courteous. I definitely would hire him again for other jobs. We're very happy with the end result!

Description of Work: Mitch managed to fix my garage door that had come off its runners. It involved taking apart the door, attaching new hinges and bending it here and there. he also had the tools to glue some kitchen cabinet that had come apart.

He was on-time and worked efficiently removing the old door and replacing it with the new. When he finished, he disposed of the old door for us, and all that was left was a perfectly functioning storm door.
Description of Work: Two days ago, Mitch installed a storm door on the back entrance of our home. Mitch has worked with us before: he has refinished an antique chair; built and installed custom shelving; installed fencing; replaced sockets; and installed a light fixture. His gives attention to details and gets the job done properly in a timely fashion.`I especially like that Mitch is willing to talk over solutions to projects that you want done, but aren't sure about the best way to proceed. Description of Work: Mitch Jozefowski has worked for me for over two years. He has built shelves, refinished decks, built a fence, hauled various things, cleaned out dryer vents, installed light fixtures, repaired a gate, done small landscaping jobs, and built dog agility training equipment.
