Where do I begin...I wish I would have began with Angie's List first of all so I could have seen the poor job that was done to someone else. I too had almost similar experiences. There was an initial consultation about the work needed to be done. I was quoted $2000 for the project which was my budget for plumbing in a commercial building. I had to do everything with the city, file the permit, hire someone to do the drawings because his was insufficient for the inspector. He started the work back in July and was never there everyday all day. He would leave early and then might not come back for a couple days. He started complaining about needed some cash for the work he had done so far. I was not about to pay him for an uncompleted job that had to be inspected by the city. He poured concrete over plumbing work before inspection, which after many years in business that knowledge should have been known. Originally we thought we were going to have to put a pump under floor and pump up to a drain upstairs and cut into the wall to run lines. My husband is the one who found the crawl space and existing drain so that was no longer necessary to cut into walls with a pump. Which should have decreased my cost for less work right? ha. Then after he installed my water heater, another room adjacent to it lost all power to the outlets and was shorting out. He had another guy fix that problem but we were the ones that found the problem. Apparently he also thought it was okay to cut the water line going to the only spigot on the building so now we have no way of power washing the building or watering any landscaping. The inspectors came for final inspection and there were a few things he was to fix. He said he would get them fixed along with the cut water spigot. He never came back and I had to hire another plumber to finish the work in order to pass inspection and I still have a broken spigot! He always left coffee cups for me to throw away, wood shavings were left all over the finished floor, my freshly painted floors were scratched and mud left all over them. Then I received a total invoice for $4,000!!!! What happened to $2000 we had originally agreed upon that was actually supposed to be for more work than what ended up having to be done? So after all that he is still calling and asking for money. I had explained multiple times that I had to turn in his invoice to my landlord and they were giving me the money to pay him. He then had HIS WIFE call me and ask for money. I then explained to her that it has already been explained several times that I can't pay him until my landlord pays me and on top of that he wants money for an unfinished job that I had to hire other plumbers to come out to fix so I could pass inspection. Please people... save your time, energy and hard earned money and deal with a professional company that gets a job done quickly, neatly and completed thouroghly. We called Benjamin Franklin and what a difference that was. They were up front about the cost and didn't charge me a penny more, brought in a shop vac and cleaned up any mess they made and was done quickly. I usually try really hard to give my business to local or the "little man", but this time it bit me in the a**.

It was an over all horrible experience. 3 weeks to repair a leak and there days he could have been here and worked but had to wait on other people so it sat, not getting fixed. IN the meantime the water kept running and adding to the huge bill. See above for a more detailed description.
Description of Work: I called this plumber (Larry Sherrell) for a water line leak in Nov. It was the day after Thanksgiving 2011. He came out gave me a verbal quote of $400.00. From that date on to Dec 13 when he finaly completed the job it raised to "about 1500.00" So I gave him $1500.00 to pay the majority. He assured me it wouldnt be much more than that. He spent 3 weeks going from knowing exactly what was wrong and where the leak was to not knowing and having to bring in another contractor to dig the yard, because he had hand dug most of my side yard and couldnt find the line. They dug my yard from back to front onling the north side and then proceded to dig across the front of my yard when they had already uncovered a line (which he felt was the neighbors). Turns out, that the line was mine not the neighbors. This person was very unprofessional, used terrible launguage, about got into a fight with my neighbor and left my yard and my neighbors yard in a huge mess. Jan 15 I wake to find no water. After the water company came out and checked the meter he took a look inside the garage and was shocked to see how KJ Plumbing put the water line in. He suggested I place a heater near the base of the line coming up into the garage and it should thaw out. I am currently waiting for that to happen. KJ Plumbing told me he would be wrapping the line with heat tape, which he didnt do...instead he used a cheap wrap to wrap the line going from my cement floor up to the cieling. He assured me it would be good to way below zero. It was 17 degrees this morning and I have frozen pipes. In the meantime I had recieved a bill for a balance of another $2500.00. Please.....do not call this guy....you will regret every minute he is working on your plumbing. He walked into my house on more than one occassion leaving mud on everything. My garage was left with mud and cement all over my stored boxes...the yard was a mess and nothing he moved was ever put back.
