FORRESTER BUILDERS

After delaying the beginning of the work for over3 weeks he finally began the work on my home. He had many excuses as to why he was delayed. Including the dying future mother in law from downstate that from the time of passing away to her funeral was 13 days! We met him on Saturday the 17th to go over the balance of work to be done, he had completed 30% and said he would complete the work by end of day on Monday. He wanted payment in full for the work, and promised he would finish. He said that since he started the job in "good faith" with no deposit that he wanted to be paid in full before he finished. He cashed the check which was full payment on Tuesday August 20,2013 but never returned to complete any of the work. When he did not return to complete the work I began try to contact him by phone ( should of know he was bad news when his mail box is always full) and text messages which was his preferred way to communicate. I never received any call or messages back from him. I even spoke with his father who informed me that he would make sure that John Forrester would retun my calls, still no response. His father told us he was on a job in South Bend, but has still failed to contact us. Here is the list of uncompleted work: A. Installation of new door hardware. Charged additional $70.00 for materials to retro fit new hardware. B. Rework all doors to close properly C. Relocate existing ceiling fan and install new ceiling electrical box D. Rewire and fix existing wiring in attic E. Finish drywall around fireplace and window to prepare for painter F. Finish and install cover plates on south wall and west wall as instructed, G. Finish and install cover plate on outside wall as instructed H. Clean up of waste construction materials left outside of jobsite When we arrived at the house when all work was suppose to be completed we were greeted with cigarette buds and debris on my from porch. drywall scraps on my lawn, old window tossed about. There was drywall dust everywhere in the inside of the house. He had to move our kitchen table to attempt to install a fixture ( left a bare wire in the ceiling hanging) over the table and he slid the table and left marks on our wood floor. He was gone no tools insight. He came in talking a big game and he got our money and left. DON'T TRUST HIM. We put our good faith in Mr. Forrester that he would honor his contract and complete the work. John Forrester is deceptive and fraudulent by promising to finish partially completed work. We look forward to working with the Indiana Attorney General's office on resolving this matter.
