Very easy and flexible to deal with gave great recommendations and no sales or upselling pressure what so ever. The installer was the most friendly and professional installer we have ever experienced and the quality of the installation is beyond compare.

Description of Work: Value Flooring recently installed nearly 1,800 sq ft of 3/4 inch hand scrapped hardwood in our new home. We ordered the flooring on a Friday, they started and completed the tear out of our existing floor ($500) on Monday and began installing the following day. The floor and trim were completed on Saturday of that week. When the stair nose arrived from the manufacturer and was too dark to match our floor, they called us to discuss options. Later in the following week the installers came back with our wood vents and to putty the nail holes in the new trim. Total cost for everything was $15,500. We are very pleased with the results.

We dealt directly with the owner of Value Flooring as we purchased new flooring for the entire main floor of our house - 6 rooms. She was very helpful as we selected the flooring and gave us several different estimates to help us decide if we wanted to do all the rooms in hardwood or if we wanted to combine hardwood with other types of flooring. We decided to go with all hardwood, gave her over $2,000 for a deposit and she ordered the hardwood. We then proceeded to spend several weeks tearing out the tile, linoleum, and carpeting in these 6 rooms. This also included tearing out all the baseboards, moving all the furniture to the basement and garage, moving kitchen appliances, etc. Our entire house was completely torn up and all the old flooring discarded when the owner called us and said that she had made a $1500 mistake in her estimate and that it would cost us $1500 more to have the flooring installed. Initially she was insistent that we pay the entire new amount. When we were quite upset that she was demanding more money now that our entire house was torn up, she became angry at us and actually stated that we should have noticed the error in her estimate even though she didn't catch it until several weeks after the flooring was ordered. She kept wanting to come to our house and talk to us about this because she did not want potential new customers in her store to hear our discussions. She finally "discounted" the price a little, but basically we were left with the choice of paying the increased amount or starting all over with a new company which would have meant that we would have had to live in a torn up house walking on plywood over the holidays. Then to add insult to injury, she completely insulted us by saying that she was afraid that we would not pay her since we were upset with her and she wanted us to pay her in full before her installer even walked in the door with one piece of flooring. We refused to pay all in advance and she did agree to accept payment upon completion of the job. We paid her in full the same day that the job was completed. We initially selected Value Flooring because we wanted to support a local business rather than one of the big box home improvement stores, but that was a huge mistake. Her installer did a decent job but we had to call him to come back 3 times to fix problems. The company owner never called us after the installation to see if everything was ok. When we called her to let her know that we had to call the installer to come back three times, she simply said that she didn't usually call to check on jobs and that she assumed that people would call her if there was a problem. We spent over $8,000 with Value Flooring and she couldn't be bothered to call and check on the job.
