BUCHER CONSTRUCTION LTD

Description of Work: Purchased a home from Bucher Construction 1/2009. Bryan Bucher was living in the home, called it his home, it was actually a spec home that he was living in. The home is beautiful with good use of space. We were told we would be given a full new home warranty. BUYER BEWARE- they skimp and go very cheap on important things that don't show until later!!!!! I will list the problems we have had. The problems started immediately. 1.) We were assured by Bryan that there was no sulfur smell to the well water. We had to put a $3,000.00 system in to get rid of the sulfur odor that filled the house when water was used. 2.) The geothermal heating and cooling system flooded the finished basement twice and regularly had small slow leaks. It was too small for the home, and the ductwork was too small and not enough of it was run. We had to use space heaters in the winter and fans throughout the house in the summer. We are currently replacing it with a new Trane furnace/airconditioner at $12,000.00. 3.) We could not find the property line markings and asked Bryan twice to walk it with us. He would not. We found out later that when he built the house he did not follow the property line and actually poured the driveway over onto the neighbors lot! He had to cut part of the driveway off. I could not mow my back yard without crossing into the neighbors yard to get into my back yard! I have just purchased a small portion of the neighbors yard at $1,800.00 4). The dryer venting was not installed to code. I had a repairman out to see why my dryer wasn't working. It was because the venting was put together inside out and was therefore blocked! There was also too many feet of it and too many corners/angles. Bryan argued about replacing it but did eventually do so. 5). The tank split on the hot water heater, again flooding the finished basement. (There is a floor drain in the unfinished area but the floor was poured sloping away from it.) We had no waranty because Bryan had gotten it for free! That cost us $1,300.00 6). The laminate floor is ruined from all the flooding and must be replaced. Bryan has said he will do this but we have yet to see that done. 7). The picture window in the downstairs bedroom leaks. Bryan has said he will fix this but we have yet to see it done. 8). The dishwasher fell out of the cabinet island. My husband fixed it. 9). The two outside corners on the covered front porch have cracked. I showed this to Bryan right away and was assure it was nothing and would not change. Now a year later the crack is a gap of about 1/2 inch. Bryan refuses to fix it. 9). The pillars on the front porch are rotting! He made them out of a partical board material, did not seal them and laid them directly on the cement. They wick up moisture. Bryan has said he will replace the bottoms. I told him I would give him a date when the work could be done once I was sure that would work. I have been told that as long as the edges are sealed and the raised off the cement it would be ok. I was told by Bryan in his latest email that he used imperfect items, imperfect

Description of Work: We had our over 2000 square foot home completely re-done and they were the construction firm that built all the framing and skeleton. They took a total of one month setting down the entire frame and when they finished, all the used material as well as the waste was hauled off by them in dumpsters.
