In 2013 we undertook the remodeling of a house we purchased that will become our permanent home after we retire from full-time employment. We hired an architect/interior designer to help us create a comprehensive plan for the ground level work to be done. Once the plan was developed we requested competitive bids from 3 contractors that could perform all aspects of the remodel plan. United Builders, LLC. was awarded the contract. Throughout the project, we worked directly with Akram Halabi the owner. I will start by saying that we were very fortunate to have selected United Builders. Akram was extremely easy to work with. He regularly communicated with us throughout the project and answered our questions and concerns within a couple of business days. He is an experienced and highly organized general contractor who is at the job site every day that work is being performed. He has a very high quality orientation. The cleanliness of the worksite was excellent. Sub-contractors he uses (electrician, tile installer, carpet layer, etc.) all have a high regard for the way in which he manages projects. I also found Akram to be highly creative in solving technical project problems as they arose. In summary, we could not have been happier in the way he managed our 2013 remodel project. Examples of the remodel work performed by United Builders includes: Remove and roll carpet for donation pick-up Widen doorway between dining room and kitchen Create a unique visual pass-through between dining room and stairway Install LED light fixtures in each remodeled room and on exterior of house Install Smart Home automation including switches, sensors, receptacles, and cameras Install engineered oak floor in 3 rooms and hallway Repaint all ceilings, walls, and trim Remove kitchen cabinets/counter and use them to create a basement work area Remove all kitchen and laundry room appliances Relocate gas and water lines in kitchen and laundry room Relocate dryer and stove vents Install ceramic tile backsplash in kitchen and laundry room Remove and replace tub/shower, tile walls, vanity and toilet in guest bathroom Construct unique screen wall in master bedroom Reconfigure 3 large closets with floor to ceiling bi-fold doors Install whole house humidifier including duct work
