My well's pressure tank sprung a leak last night, I called around to get estimates on replacing the tank. The well was originally drilled by Van Gilder, long before I owned the home, and they came highly recommended by my coworkers. I left messages with several plumbers in the area asking for estimates, Van Gilder got back to me within the hour, I met them at my home and they gave me an estimate of $125 if I went and bought the water tank. I called them from the local home improvement store because the exact size we wanted wasn't available, and they told me that the smaller size would be fine. Once I got it home, I called them back again. They were on lunch, but they arrived at my house within 45 minutes, and fixed the tank in less than an hour. Then they charged me exactly what they said they would. They were very professional, and they didn't seem to mind that my basement was a wreck (I only clean out the basement once or twice a year). They charged me less than the one plumber I actually reached quoted me, and it was all around a better experience than I anticipated.
