Dan was responsive, courteous, and professional from the moment I first contacted him about the sag in our recently replaced hardwood flooring in our kitchen. He first requested photos, but advised that he would probably need to perform a site visit to identify the cause of the sag. Dan did come to our home to inspect the sag. In less than 30 minutes he had diagnosed the problem: something my general contractor, the flooring subcontractor, and the variety of other contractors I'd had in and out of our house had been unable to do. Dan nailed all the culprits that contributed to the sag in our newly repaired kitchen floor: the original home builder had used an inferior grade of lumber for the joists, the location of the knots in the joists beneath our fridge reduced the load capacity of the joists, and those joists had been further weakened from getting wet and then dried from a fridge ice-maker leak. All of these factors together created the noticeable sag we were seeing beneath our fridge. After identifying the problems Dan described our treatment options and then offered his recommendation for repairing the sagging joist and preventing the conditions that caused it. Dan provided a concise report following his visit and gave us recommendations for contractors to do the repairs and other work in our house.
