Went very well. Very professional. Technician took his time and made various temperature and humidity measurement to check operation of A/C unit. Put plastic boots on so as not to soil carpets. Answered all my question with detailed knowledgeable answers. Even though I have a very old unit, I did not get any pressure or even hints that the A/C unit should be replaced. Setting up appointments not as easy as could be though. Had to do a little phone tag.

they came out and checked all the air conditioner and added Freon. no problems so far. I had an issue with the fan not running up to power after he left. and I called and he was right out here to check to see what the problem was.

A couple of weeks ago, our AC unit started blowing out warm air in the house. Of course, it was on a Saturday and I had called and a tech (Daniel) came out and diagnosed the problem. He stated that the unit was very old and needed to be replaced. Obviously, on a Saturday afternoon, I was not prepared to make that decision so I just had him repair the unit so that I could play the odds and try to get through until Fall. About three days later, it happened again. So I called and spoke with Ethan, the Sales Manager. Ethan jumped in his truck and came out to my house immediately since my schedule was filled later in the day. We agreed on a new unit and in the meantime another tech (Eric) came out and got the system to blow some cool air until my new unit could be installed. We received a call a couple of days later from Ed, the Installation Manager. He asked if we still had AC. We told him that we had some. He stated that he had other folks that did not have any and asked if it was okay if he took care of them first. We agree that would be fine since there were folks worse off than us. On Saturday night, July 28th, Ed calls our house at 8:50pm and asks if they can install our system on Monday morning. Obviously, we said that would be fine. Asked when they would be here and hung up the phone. On Monday morning at 9am sharp, Ed and Daniel showed up with everything they needed to get our new system installed. They were extremely professional and cleaned up after themselves! They took the time to answer all of my stupid questions. They made certain that I was happy with what was being done and the way they were doing it. Once they were finished for the day, they took the time to explain everything about the system to me, showed me where all of the Operating Manuals were located, and asked me again if I had any questions. I cannot express to you in words how professional and personable these guys were! Since they had to fit a new system into our existing system, there was some sheet metal work that needed to be constructed at their shop. They asked if it was okay if they came back in the morning. Again, I asked what time. The next morning they show up, right on time and completed the work in about an hour. Again, both Ed and Daniel were extremely professional and took great pride in their work! I would certainly recommend Paitson Brothers to you if you are looking to have a new AC unit or furnace installed!
Description of Work: A new condesing unit was installed along with a new evaporator coil and refrigeration lines. Wireless thermostat was also installed.

I called them and they sent someone to see if the problem could be fixed, as it was supposed to run for twenty years. They said that it could not be fixed. He told me that it would be $1000 more than the original price. I thought that I should have got a better deal from them as it ran out of time. So I went to someone else. He came out and saw that it was just few wires that had burnt out and that had to be replaced. They fixed it and instead of $3000 we just paid $300. They were very nice when they came. We wanted to get another opinion before we spent. I wouldn't be confident on them. They wouldn't be my first choice in future but I would certainly consider them.

Our records indicate that this customer had an Elite Series Lennox air conditioning system purchased and installed by Paitson Bros. on July 13, 2000 for $2,857 plus tax. However, our records also indicate that she did not renew her service contract on that air conditioner past the first year (first year free with all new equipment purchases). She had us out one other time to do a standard service on that unit on July 30, 2007. With annual preventive maintenance (which the manufacturer recommends), the average life-span of an air conditioner is 15-18 years. With little or no service, we expect that service life to be significantly reduced. Customer was quoted $4,513 plus tax (about a 4% yearly increase in cost over previous system) to replace her system with another Lennox Elite Series unit (at her request). Other less expensive models were available, including Lennox Merit Series and our Aire Flo economy line.

Description of Work: paitson & son have done several jobs for me. to list three : 1. new furnace +-2009 2. replace "a-frame ?" of central air. 3. service/maintenance twice a year (contract). new furnace great - cut heating bill in half or better. central air - no problem. maintenance contract - super. all replacement parts and hours covered . they always call ahaed to schedual visits (and are there when they say). service contract maybe a bit costly but well worth the money - keeps things up to snuff. no worries - mate.

They were very polite. They were conscientious. They were very professional. We did not go with them because of two reasons. The cost of the project was high. We had a certain amount of money that we wanted to spend. When we asked everyone to give us the bid on the project, we asked them not to go over the amount. They responded well. They were excellent on punctuality. They were a very professional incorporation. I would consider using their services again in the future.

My furnace went out in early February 2010. Having a four-month old baby in the home, my wife and I were completely at a loss for what to do. After meeting with several other companies, we selected Paitson Brothers because they did an excellent job of explaining our options, working with us to select financing, and moving us through the process. They kept us warm with electric space heaters overnight and installed the system the next day. The technicians that arrived to install the furnace were in crisp, clean uniforms and were incredibly polite and professional, going so far as to wear plastic booties when working in the house to keep the floors clean and tidy. The installation they did was VERY good, and aesthetically, looked much better than even our previous system did. Once the installation was complete, the technician took time to explain the goings on in the furnace and to teach me how to operate my programmable thermostat. The salesman met with me after the installation to go over all of the rebate paperwork (that Paitson Brothers even FILLED OUT FOR ME!), tax credit paperwork, and warranty information. As to price, we collected quotes from four companies. Paitson Bros was not the least expensive bid. They were also not the most expensive. However, based on the brand that they carry (Lennox), their long history in Terre Haute, the professionalism of their staff from sales to install, I BELIEVE THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY. I would (and have) recommend them to anyone who appreciates quality work at a reasonable price.

Technician who came said my furnace was so unsafe he would not do anything and did not charge for the service call because they could not put their name on it. He said parts would probably not be available for it because it is so old and I should just replace it. After speaking to 3 other companies, it was confirmed this was true, however I also learned this company's prices were much higher than their competitors. I believe they would have done a fine job, but all factors considered I'm glad I shopped around and ended up using Super Heating and Cooling instead because I got exactly what I needed for at least $1,000 less. This person has never had us out to their home before. They were responding to a low price furnace checkup special. When our technician arrived he discovered that the safety controls were missing off the furnace. They had been bypassed (wired around). We could not service the furnace under the circumstances. The customer was advised of the circumstances and chose not to proceed with repairs. We shut the furnace office at the SSU switch. This is standard operating procedure for us. We will not leave a furnace and unsafe condition. The customer knew how to turn the furnace back on. We did not charge the customer anything for the service call. The company this person chose to have their furnace installed does not have a city contractor’s license for Terre Haute. The company consists of one man. He is not insured nor is he bonded as is required. Who will this person call when he needs emergency service and this company’s owner is sick, or on vacation. Since he is not large enough to be considered by most major HVAC manufacturers as eligible to become a dealer, he must buy low grade builder model HVAC equipment from local wholesale stores. There is no comparison between this type of equipment and the Lennox equipment we provide. We have been in business since 1922. My grandfather started this business and my son represents the fourth generation to serve our customers. We are licensed, bonded and carry over 2 million dollars in insurance liability coverage. We pay payroll taxes, unemployment taxes and workers compensation insurance. We have attained Premier Dealer status with Lennox. Only a small percentage of the over 7000 Lennox dealers worldwide attain this level. We maintain a 97% satisfaction rating according to our satisfaction surveys sent to every installation and paid service call customer. All of our employees are background screened and randomly drug tested to assure our customers that the technician that enters their home is a quality person and can be trusted. To attract quality employees, we provide the highest pay of any residential HVAC contractor in this area. We also provide paid vacation, medical coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, uniforms and ongoing factory training. When you call our office you will always be greeted by a representative 24/7. We offer customer assured pricing which means you’ll know the cost up front before we do the work. No surprises. Our website is full of useful information. This helps you get answers to questions you have and give you insight without even having to call us. The company this person chose has none of that. This Persons only complaint was that our price was higher. We made a conscious decision early on in our business. We would rather have to explain why our prices are higher one time than to have to apologize for poor quality again and again and again. Quite frankly, we are surprised that we were only $1,000 higher considering the risk this person is taking. John Ruskin said it best. “There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey.”
