Joe's Mechanical Heating

They were contracted through home warranty on January 19 and as of today March 21 I still have no heat. They replaced my nice white thermostat with an ugly yellow brown one that looked like something from the 1970s and tore up my wall in the process only to find out it was not the thermostat. I needed new baseboards. After numerous calls they kept telling me they had to order it. After complaining to home warranty they magically appeared in the shop an hour later. They came out today and refused to do the work because they don’t move furniture. I was at work at the time and someone here to let them in. I called and they said the same the same thing, you would think they would have mentioned this in the months they were waiting for the part. I checked Lowe’s and they have the baseboard heaters in stock for around 40.00 and will also ship in 2-3days so what took two months I still don’t know. Also when they came out the first time to put in the unneeded ugly thermostat they tracked mud in my house and left the outside fuse box door open in the rain. I would never recommend them!

Joe and his team were very professional and prompt. He provided a great warranty with his service as well.

They also did a routine check last month. I like everything; they're wonderful people. My insurance paid for this, I just had to pay for my deductible. I have nothing but good thing to say about them. They're mannerable, clean up their mess and everything. They won't walk in the house on your carpet unless they have covers on. They're just good.

They found that the air conditioner was not working. Insurance paid for all of it except the duct work. I paid a $75 deductible.

They are very good. They are very courteous and go above and beyond. They came to me after hours to help me.

Work was scheduled promptly and performed quickly. A considerable amount of work was accomplished within one day. Crew was pleasant, skilled and tidy. Owner was hands-on involved with providing an estimate and initiating the project, with several hours spent in-between and wrapping up with a quality inspection at completion.

The installers arrived at the agreed upon time and removed the old equipment. They then replaced all old equipment with new high efficiency equipment. Installers were friendly and left area clean when they were finished. We have been using the furnace for two months now and it seems to do a great job.

We called after hours and left a message; we received a call back the next morning. We were able to find a date that fit our schedule, however they quoted a 6 hour service appointment. We weren't able to be home the entire 6 hours and were left with deciding to leave the workers alone in our home. They arrived as scheduled and got to work. As it turned out, it only took a little over 3 hours to complete the job, maybe because our house is only 2000 sq ft. We were able to stay home while the work was performed but I would have felt comfortable leaving them alone if it had gone longer. We are very happy with the results. We had recently purchased our home from a heavy smoker and even after new paint and carpet cleaning the smell seemed to linger. After having the ducts cleaned, we can't smell the smoke anymore. We would definitely recommend their service.

I called Joe's Mechanical Heating because they were listed under the Air Duct Cleaning category, which is what I was needing. The phone operator was professional, friendly and also made extra efforts to fit me in for same day service, which was nice. However, over the phone, she informed me that the cost might be as high as $360 but before doing the work would need to have a technician come out to take a look at the ducts. I thought the price quote over the phone, without seeing any of the work that needed done, was too high. When the technician arrived, he was from a separate company. Apparently, they sometimes sub out work. He was also friendly at first, but mentioned he had only performed the service 5 times or so. I asked him to describe the service and he did and made it sound as though he would be done in under an hour, but then said no longer than 2 hours. The house I was having service was a one story ranch and was relatively small in size. I was puzzled as to why the fee was so high for a service that would be wrapped up in an hour but he said he didn't know because he didn't handle the pricing, he just did the work. I called the phone operator again, her tone had changed a bit now since I was asking about the cost of the service, and she said she was charging me for 4 hours of work. This service had SCAM and rip off written all over it. A greedy business was over charging for work that was being accomplished by one individual who had no overhead on the job except his labor in time. Essentially, I was being charged $360 for 1 hour of work. I told the technician that I wasn't going to move forward with the service and he said, as he was walking away, "Good luck trying to get your ducts clean" Not a very professional operation.

Our heatpump wasn't defrosting so I called Joe'smechanical. He ordered the parts it needed, and in a couple of days came over and installed them. Now it works great again.

See above, they came out more than once to replace parts when the first try failed made sure to fix it and didnt charge extra for after hours repair due to the fact it wasn't completely repaired the first visit. Very professional and prompt.

This was the second time I have used this company. Both times it was related to my air conditioner, last summer the entire unit went out and they went out of their way to repair it as it was under warranty (my husband and I were not aware of this) when another local company came out prior and said we were NOT under warranty and tried to sell us an entire new system costing thousands. Instead, Joe's came out and found the problem, stated we were under warranty, and fixed everything that needed fixed for much less money. This summer, the inside fan went out (not related to last year's repair), I called Joe's, and despite it being the hottest days of the summer and them being extremely busy, they had a man out that same day, overnighted the part we needed as they were sold out, and installed it the very next day. The workers have always been extremely professional, clean up after themselves, are punctual, and I would recommend their services to anyone who needs work on AC or heating systems.
