Jay's Construction, Lawn Care and Tree Service

In the beginning the price seemed reasonable. The job ended up taking them almost two weeks to complete. Other roofers estimated this easy roof at around three days to complete. I also use to work in construction so I know what I am looking for. I paid right around 50% before they started. Jay calls me around day 5 and says that he way underestimated the roof. I was like okay you found more work, Ill pay for that. The day of the roof being finished Jay hits me with another price increase. With no explanation as to why it was needed. We argued about it and he threatened to put a lien on my house if not paid in full that day. Now it gets even worse. Around day 10 it started to rain outside. They did not cover the roof and water got inside and tore up the ceilings in three rooms. Keep in mind up until day 10 the weather was beautiful. There work ethic is horrible. The owner lied straight to my face on the inside water damage. Jay says, "that water damage is not from us." So I called Serve Pro out to investigate all of the damage. The owner ended up agreeing to fix all of it after being shown up. It ended up taking them almost a month to fix the drywall. Even after It looked horrible and was unfinished. Not to mention they also stole roof tar and nails out of my garage. STAY COMPLETELY CLEAR OF JAY'S CONSTRUCTION AND TREE SERVICE!!!!! Go with somebody who is known and has a good reputation.
