+ -1 moreThe next day, Mike returned with an employee; and they not only fixed our furnace, but they also checked additional wiring in our basement to allay my concerns. They also fixed some loose duct work that we discovered while investigating a basement storage area. They did this at no extra cost whatsoever. They were professional, down-to-earth, earnest, friendly, and so incredibly helpful and honest that we will always use them for any HVAC contracting work in the future. This is the second time that both of these contractors have been in our home and fixed our furnace when I was prepared for them to say that we needed to replace it instead. These guys give you the straight scoop in a world filled with people who are happy to prey on the fear and ignorance of homeowners!
Description of Work: The owner of Accurate Heating and Cooling came to our house on a Sunday afternoon because we had a fire scare with our furnace (burning smell and smoke alarms activated), and we wanted a second opinion regarding our furnace and heat pumps. We had been told by another HVAC contractor in town earlier that day that our furnace was "unfixable" and "so antiquated that it was nearly obsolete" (only a 10-year-old home), and that one of our heat pumps additionally had to be replaced; he had given us an estimate of $6,500.00. Mike from Accurate came to assess the situation at my request and kept us informed of everything he discovered as he meticulously looked at and tested our furnace and heat pumps. His conclusion: our furnace needed an "easy" fix that required replacing all of the relays. When I looked at him incredulously, he asked, "What? You want me to tell you that you need a new furnace? You don't." Additionally, he informed us that both of our heat pumps were in fine working order and that they could not have been the cause of the burning smell, as they were entirely contained units (outside of the home, of course).

+ -1 moreMy old air conditioner and furnace were still in working order, but I had had some trouble with them during the heating season and just wanted new ones. Mike took a few calls ahead of mine because those poor folks air didn't work at all and it was really HOT outside. I understood. They were effeceint, got the furnace installed in a minimal amount of time. When I had questions about the whole process, they were glad to answer.
Description of Work: Replace exsisting furnace and central air conditioning unit with new.
