concrete repair

They showed up and started the work while we were out of town. They removed one load of the broken concrete, but left the rest of the concrete in the corner of our front yard. The weather was rather rainy and it took a while before they were able to pour the concrete. My husband ended up removing the forms used to contain the concrete. He also moved the product out of our backyard and stored it near our garage. It was several weeks before they came to pickup these items. We were told they would come back and remove the concrete, but they never did. We had to rent a dumpster and my husband and I had to move all of the remaining concrete from where it was located by wheel barrel to the dumpster. We also were told that we would be getting a truckload of topsoil to fill in the depressed areas in our front yard that were created by the concrete truck, but we waited for many weeks and heard nothing else from Backyard Designs, so we had to pay for two loads of topsoil, as well as grass seed and straw. We have some cracks in our concrete patio and the company never came back to clean off the concrete that had been splattered on our new siding. We have yet to remove the concrete from our siding--we have attempted to do it ourselves, but we have not had a lot of success in getting the concrete to come off of our siding.
Description of Work: We had our concrete patio that was directly off of our family room on our lower level removed and replaced and the patio continued around to the other door in our lower level. $700 addtl money out of our pocket to repair/cleanup what provider did not

Gordon came out to give me an estimate within a day or two and was able to fit me in at the end of the season a week later to reseal and patch my driveway. He brought two other guys. All were friendly and worked hard to get the job done. I was pleased and had him give me another estimate for some landscape work. He came up with some great ideas of how to enhance the area. Two weeks later he came out with the same two workers and began removing unwanted trees in the way of our project. He brought another man to do some backhoe work on one day. The three of them got everything done in three days and I am very pleased with the result. I had him give me an estimated on cutting down some dead trees on my property and splitting it up for firewood. His price was cheaper and more reasonable than others. I will definitely call him again.
Description of Work: Gordon gave me an estimate to reseal my long driveway and patch some cracks for a price of $1,200. This was less than another company I had previously used. He was able to come an do the job very soon before the weather turned cooler. I was very pleased with his work and contracted him to do some landscaping work as well. He gave me a price of $2,800 to grade and build up the ground on the side of my driveway. He did a beautiful job fixing the drainage using gravel and rif/raf rock. He had to remove several small trees and some larger cedar trees to make way to extend our driveway, build a retaining wall with treated timbers and spread crushed limestone to make a very attractive driveway apron extention. I am very pleased with the way it looks for the price he quoted. He even cut down a few other small dead trees for me as part of the job price. I plan on using him to cut down more dead trees and split the wood for firewood.

The price was great, the work was great, and the jobs were done on time and exactly as described and agreed to. The owner Gordon is an honest man who does what he says and more. after I got the quote for my driveway repair I remembered a large gap around my steps where they meet the driveway. Gordon said he should have extra hotpatch and he would see what he could do. When I got home from work they were still sealing the driveway and I looked to see if they had been able to fix the steps also. The step repair was done above and beyond anything I had expected, they had built up what used to be a gap so that it would drain rainwater away from my steps and garage. this was all done for the original quote for the driveway repair and seal. I have hired Backyard Designs three times this summer and will hire them again when I need work done.
Description of Work: The first time Backyard Designs (Gordon L. McIntosh jr.) performed work for me was in june when they removed two dead pine trees from my yard. The work was so good and quick, that I had him trim two giant blue spruce trees. Gordon also made time that day to trim a third tree. We made arrangements for Backyard Designs to return the next week and remove the stumps. Then we discussed the very large crack in my driveway. Actually it was a gap about two inches wide completely across my 25 ft. wide driveway. I called Backyard Designs in august too hotpatch the crack and seal the driveway.
