The actual home selection and bid process went very well. Anna and Martha took us out several times to look at a wide variety of homes in a number of price ranges. I was not sure exactly how much I wanted to spend, but I did know I wanted to be in a very specific geographical area so I was concerned about how many options I would have, but Anna and Martha did an excellent job of being able to work within the strict geographical parameters. I had also done a lot of MLS searching and looking online for a home myself, but the house I ultimately purchased was one that I did not know about in a location of homes that I was unaware of until they found it for us. As a first time home buyer who is self employed the closing process was also long and tenuous as I had difficulty securing the final financing. I ultimately had to switch from my original mortgage lender to someone that the Detlefsen's recommended that was able to finally get everything done. This was a significant added benefit as I am sure I would have never been able to close had I gone with another real estate agent. I also thought they did a great job in the negotiation and sales process as we were able to secure an agreement for a final purchase price that I was very happy with as it was well below the sellers asking price and well below the appraisal we obtained for the home. Overall I was extremely pleased with the service we received throughout the entire process. We had all of our questions thoroughly answered, they were very responsive in getting back to us, never felt like they were hard to get ahold of or as if we were getting a run around. I was very pleased as noted above with the homes they were able to show us and how accommodating they were able to be with our schedule. I think there is a big added benefit in working with a team rather than an individual when purchasing real estate.
