To make the insurance company and us happy about the job ahead, South Bend Roofing were nice enough to take pictures of the project before, during and after. From the pictures we saw of the roof which is about 32 feet up, they did a fantastic job. We spoke to a couple of them as they worked on the flat roof on the 2nd day as they had to replace some plywood and a few rafters and they were very courteous and explained what they had to do and why. Alot of places don't do that. The job was a two day job and they kept the place always picked up. We inspected the place after the first day and it was all cleaned up. No trash, nails nothing left to show they were even there. By that time the main roof was complete. When we came after the work was done the 2nd day, the same. You wouldn't even know they were there. My tenants said they were very courteous and careful not to damage anything or leave a mess. We were very impressed with their work.

They were good. The price was a little expensive but it was worth it. I was very satisfied all the way around. I would definitely use them again.

I spoke with Barry on the phone who was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Despite having a backed up schedule for full roofing jobs, they stopped by to give me a free estimate and worked in my small repair within several days after I called. I haven't received an invoice yet (the repair was made just yesterday), but the estimate was reasonable and the job appears to be well done. Already had some strong winds and a thunderstorm, and everything held up beautifully.

Our project is still in the initial stages of securing the needed funding, but by far this company has provided the best information and has helped our HOA to understand the products and materials available to us. The professional manner and excellent response time of this company is very impressive. I would highly recommend this company for any of the services they provide. Judy

I had very bad shingles on one valley of the garage roof. Barry was very up front and said it could be 8 weeks before he could get to this job. Toward the end of November, I got a call from Barry telling me they had done the job and that it was a little more involved than we had originally thought. The further up the valley they removed shingles, they found signs of leaking, so they repaired all the way up. The only complaint I had was that he didn't call me before he sent his crew to do the job, as we had discussed the fact that I had 5 bundles of matching shingles in my garage that could be used for the job. When I reminded him of this, he adjusted the repair price accordingly. Barry is very good to work with and I will most likely have this company re-roof the whole house this summer. He was very helpful in retrieving shingle samples and taking photos to support my defective materials claim with the shingle manufacturer.

They came for inspection and estimate right when they said they would. Were honest that it would be a several week wait, but that they would get to it before winter...and they did. First time they came, they fixed a dead zone I didn't know about on the front of the house and missed the one on the back they were asked to repair. The crew wasn't aware that they were to do the gutter as well. Came back the next week to repair the gutter and the correct zone at no charge. The gutter still leaks, so I will update this when I see how they respond to my new request. The estimator was a very nice guy and knew his business very well. I was surprised that he didn't write down my requests - that may be why his crew didn't repair the gutter the first time.

Called for estimate and talked to Barry. He said he would come in a couple of days and would call first. He then called and made arrangements as to when would be a good time for us and was here at that time. He walked both the house and garage roof to measure and take notes. There was only one layer of shingles on the roof so we agreed to have the new shingles laid on top of the existing. He said our turbines were good and they would re-install those after roofing. He left with his notes and said he would call to come out when he had the estimate. He called after a couple of days and we agreed on a time for him to come with the estimate. He went over the estimate/contract thoroughly and answered all of our questions. He also left several shingle samples for us to choose which we preferred. We were told it would be a couple of weeks because they had a full schedule but it should be the end of November or the first of December when they could do the job. Barry called a few days ahead to let us know they would be here on December 1st. They were here the entire 1st and 2nd day of December and the three men worked steadily, taking very few short breaks, if any. I will add that it was extremely cold on the 1st day of their job. The job was completed on the 2nd of December. All debris was cleaned up and loaded into their truck to be hauled away. When the men re-set the satellite, they couldn't get it adjusted right but Barry worked with it until we once again had our TV for our granddaughters to watch without having to call the company and having an additional expense for them to come out. It was a good experience and they did a wonderful job. The roofs look great! I wouldn't hesitate to call them in the future and would recommend them to all!

Overall an excellent experience. They arrived on time ready to work. They explained what they were doing and why and showed me what was happening with the pocket section of roofing and how their repair would not just fix the problem but prevent it from being a problem in the future. They cleaned up the area when completed and were very curtious and professional.

I was very satisfied with the work they did. I have had no problems after five years. They did a great job, the prices were fair, and they worked with me. I would recommend this company to others.

After we signed the contract (which was very detailed as to what they would do), we were on a waiting list with several jobs ahead of us. The April and May rains set things back even further. However, Barry kept in touch with us. We knew a few days ahead of time when they were coming out. They finished in two days and did a great job cleaning up. I would highly recommend them.

My neighbor's 70 foot tree bounced off my roof and onto my fence. The chimney had to have a complete rebuild (Chim-Tech of South Bend); and the roofing and flashing needed to be fixed as well. My boss, who also recommended Chim-Tech, had used South Bend Roofing several times in the past and highly recommended them. While I'm not always trusting to listen to my boss, I'm glad I did in both cases. I recently emailed and contacted Steve (owner) to see about getting an estimate. I had given him my address (via email); he called the next day to say he'd been to my house, looked at the roof (two story) and had sent his proposal to me. So often you can't even get an estimate without calling several people. The first company I had called didn't even bring a ladder! Needless to say, he was very professional and did a wonderful job fixing the roof. He very obligingly offered to coordinate efforts with the chimney company. Would highly recommend and will be happy to call them when my roof needs work again.
