Terrible! We had a 53 inch visible seam in the carpet! Terry the owner has no customer service skills! Terry was very rude when he came over to see the terrible visible seam. Terry ordered carpet to replace what his team had installed incorrectly. The color of the replacement carpet was a little different from the original carpet. When I questioned the color Terry was very upset that I questioned the color and said he was not ordering another replacement carpet. He already spent alot of money to replace the mistake his company had made! If I didnt like the carpet I would have to live with the visible seam! I dont know how he is still in business!

Very well! Only 10 days from day of estimate/purchase to installation. This was my second experience with Shillings, and definitely not my last. Everyone was friendly and courteous.

Everything went great. Shillings first removed all of our old carpet very quickly and took it with them. Then they installed new carpet over a two day period. Everything looks great and clean.

It was all done within 3 days. All the trash and scraps were cleaned up daily. The installer had been installing carpet for 30 years and it showed. A very good job. The salesman is the owner so if there are deals to be had, he knows about them
Description of Work: Removed 1500 square feet of carpet and pad and replaced same

Customer service was excellent at the store. Nice people, friendly, helpful in selecting products and very knowledgeable about all products. Even notified us of an upcoming sale so we could take advantage of better pricing. After purchase of carpet and bamboo flooring, we discovered a problem at our home which required us to delay installation of all flooring - owner of store was very understanding and stored our flooring for us for several months until installation could begin. That kind of customer service went above and beyond! Actual installers of carpet/bamboo were the problem: Not overly friendly, but that wasn't the big issue - it was the way the carpet installers dropped the carpet rolls and padding rolls onto the floor when they were brought into the home! It sounded/felt like they were dropped from shoulder height or they were set down upon their ends and allowed to just fall over onto the floor. I was sitting in the basement and heard/felt loud and quot;boomsand quot; when the rolls were dropped/fell over. No thought or care was taken to gently lay the rolls onto the floor and the result was nail pops within several walls and pictures in other rooms all over the house were askew from the vibrations!! Quality of installation was great although it was left up to us to vacuum the carpets when they were done. When Lowe's installed our basement carpeting, they vacuumed and left our basement spotless. The bamboo installers were 2 different guys from the carpet installers who were nice enough - much more friendly than the carpet installers, but upon arrival and inspection of the bamboo, one installer informed me that he did not know he was to install bamboo which is of a different thickness than typical hardwood flooring and that he did not have the proper nailer with him. He had to call another installer, leave a message and wait for him to call back. When that person called back, our installer was told that the particular nailer he needed had broken on a previous job! So our installer had to and quot;make doand quot; with the nailer he had with him. His assistant was in charge of making the cuts on the bamboo and must have been new to installing this type of flooring as the angled cuts were off by a couple millimeters and did not quite butt up against the end piece of bamboo correctly. I pointed this out to the installers and asked if there was anything I could do to fill the gap. I was told not to fill the gap as wood flooring will expand and contract and any fillers would not be a good idea. I also asked this question of the store owner upon making the final payment and got the same answer. We decided not to complain about the bamboo installation as it is a very minor flaw and not noticeable except to us. Pick your battles! But these types of details are what leave a bad or good taste in the mouth of the homeowner and what drive word-of-mouth advertising for companies. There should be some type of follow up inspection by this store owner to see what kind of job his installers are doing and how happy the customer is.
Description of Work: Installed carpet all thru main floor, including bedrooms, hallways, closets. Also installed bamboo flooring in entryway.

Shilling's subcontractor arrived on time, tore off existing flooring, installed new subflooring and vinyl flooring. During the process, subcontractor noticed part of floor had rotted (washing machine had overflowed a few times), showed us the problem, gave us the cost to replace the rotted portion of the flooring, and then replaced that portion of flooring. Later in the day after the subcontractor left, we noticed a corner of the flooring (where the stove would go) was slightly curled. We notified Shillings, and the subcontractor returned as promised by Shillings and fixed the curled flooring.
Description of Work: Vinyl flooring was installed in kitchen.
