I bought a vacant home last year with a yard that had been neglected. A nasty tangle of ivy, weeds, tree shoots, and other unwelcome vegetation had grown along the full length of the property line near the front of the house all the way to the property line at the back alley. I pulled at the ivy and weeds and even paid a neighborhood youth looking for work to hack at it. The effort proved to be a waste of time, energy, and money. After contacting several local landscapers, I settled on Precision Lawn. Though the owner, Ed, seemed to be a bit of a character, he showed up when he said he would and immediately got on board with what I had in mind. I told Ed that I wanted the jungle along the property line removed, the entire cleared area covered with dirt, and then seeded. I also wanted an application of weed and feed fertilizer for the entire front and back lawn as well as some other minor work done in the yard. I also told Ed that I wanted an application of weed and feed for my neighbors lawn, because I didn't want his weeds encroaching into my lawn too. Ed's estimate for the work was right in the middle of three estimates I received, but I chose Ed to do the work a.) because he showed up when he said he would, b.) he understood what I wanted, and c.) indicated to me in the affirmative that he wanted the job and could get it done. One landscaper acted as if he was doing me a favor by dropping by and giving me an estimate while the other one claimed I had to sod the area, because there was and quot;no wayand quot; grass seed would take on the side of the house. Not much longer after I contracted with Ed to do the work, he sent his crew headed up by Tammy. They arrived in the afternoon and quickly got to work pulling the vegetation out by the roots and digging up several good-sized stumps. By the time they called it quits for the day, they were nearly done. Shortly after noon the following day, the whole area had been thoroughly cleared, covered in dirt, and seeded. The remaining areas including my neighbor's lawn had been cleaned up and fertilized. Several neighbors said they were amazed at how quickly Precision completed the job and commented that the yard looked 10,000 times better. Six or seven weeks later, I have lush green grass growing where there used to be a nightmare. I was so happy with Precision that I had Tammy come back last week to install a retaining wall and flower garden in the front yard. The neighbors have been commenting they like what they see, and so do I. I will continue to use Precision and request Tammy for all my future lawn and landscaping projects. She is extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, and diligent.
