Tub cracked and chipped after only 4 months. Couldn't tell me why this happened without even looking at it in person and then claimed the warranty wouldn't cover it, with no explanation. Was told there would be no fumes which was a lie. Fumes strongly lingered for nearly two weeks afterword. Also, refused to wear a mask in my home. I was told, "no, we don't do that"! Receptionist is also rude.

Fine. Did what was expected.

When the tech arrived, I was fixing a water leak in the bathroom. He arrived on time. I answered the door, all wet and asked if he had any plumber's putty. He answered no. I explained about leak in the bathroom. He said he would only need one bucket of water. He also wanted to know if I needed to go somewhere. I asked why? He shrugged and said most people have to go to work or something and that I could write him a check ($450.00) for the job first. I said and quot;No, I am retired and not going anywhere, I am trying to finish remodeling this houseand quot;. The bath had 30 square foot of tile in it and new coat of paint on the walls. But, no tub surround or toilet. He opened the bedroom and bath windows to cross ventilate and got to scraping at the tub with a razor blade while he reiterated, to drive the point home, that and quot;theyand quot; like to have everything concerning and surrounding the tub finished, before glazing. He emphasized that the work and quot;is just a painted surfaceand quot; and generally it would take at least and quot;a monthand quot; before it completely cured. And even then, the paint could still be damaged by work done by a plumber or installer. I asked if I could replace the drain plate later. He said If I wanted him to do the job now, he might have to be called back for touch up, even after a month because the paint seals it. I assured him it would at least be a good month or more. He couldn't get the drain plate removed with a screwdriver and he broke the screws holding the over-flow plate. He said the and quot;screws brokeand quot; and I would have to get a plumber to and quot;extractand quot; them. He said he knew a plumber that works cheap. He waited while I called the plumber. After that, he told me , there was and quot;only a $40.00 service calland quot;. He asked me to let him know when the bath would be done before calling to paint the tub. I was upset over the fact that I had to call a plumber to fix the overflow plate in the first place. And secondly, he should not have charged me for the and quot;service calland quot; if he really wanted the work. After the plumber gets done, I don't know if I will be able to afford it.

Unlike a previous rater, I had no difficulty in getting in touch with him. He called back promptly, quoted me a price, and showed up on time and ready to work. The work was performed quickly and well. In spite of the fact that there were toxic stripping agents used to clean the sink prior to recoating, the venting that he used dealt really well with the odor. I could barely smell anything even while stripping was going on. He was very organized and very neat throughout. The job was expensive, but it was well done. I was very pleased with the result, would use him again, and would recommend him to others.

I called Pallidan and received a quote and a caution about what to ask future companies that I quote, questions to ask, etc. I called back and set an appointment with him since his price was almost half of the other quote I received. He showed up to our house early, took care to protect the area around the tub, vented the area through a different room and finished the service within a few hours. He gave us a few "care" guidelines.

I called Paladin Co., owner Richard Honchell and spoke with him on Sept. 19 2011. I got a long, arrogant sales speech, a price, Mr. Honchell said they don't do estimates, the price is $350. with an 8 year guarantee. I asked if he came to our area and he assured me he did but needed a 3 week lead time and that when my bathroom was complete he would come in for the re-glaze. I agreed to call him when finished. On October 17th, approximately 4 weeks later, i called again because my remodel was nearly complete. No answer. Called again several days in a row , left messages and no response. i finally said forget it and had to go buy a new bathtub. Nothing worse than planning on re-glazing a tub with a company that came with references to end up ripping up a new floor and wall to install a new product since he was a NO SHOW. Not sorry I can't get to you yet, or any other excuse. This is the poorest excuse for personcalling himself a professional If you can't do a job, tell me. no problem. But to lead me to believe that you could do services you quoated me on and gave me a price on, that means theres something seriously wrong here. So glad i just went out a bought a new bathtub. Here it;s the end of Decemer and still no word. i 'm glad i had the item replaced by someone else. i would never reommend him or his company . .

1. Requested an on-site quote when we made our call, but he refused, stating that he never makes on-site quotes. We told him that we had a "peeling paint" problem on the bottom of our bathtub from a previous tub refinishing be the former home owner in 2001. 2. We were quoted a fee of $350.00 and no additional fees were discussed during the original phone call. We were not informed of an extra fee to strip previous refinishing. 3. On the day the service was rendered, we were told that we needed to pay $75.00 to strip off the peeling paint from the previous tub refinishing. (We found the receipt from the previous home owner and it was by Pallidan Refinishing, same company as this one, but didn't know it when we called to discuss obtaining his services. All we had was a phone number given to us by Lowe's in Goshen when we inquired at Lowe's about knowledge of anyone who might refinish tubs in our area). 4. We had an issue with some "running of paint" along the side of our tub. We called the same night to inform him of this and never heard back from him, until we had to call him back. Now we have to wait 3 weeks before he comes back to fix it. He said that he is not willing to make any length trip if he has to drive a distance outside his current work radius and that he didn't have any jobs in our area until then. 5. Very poor customer service and he is very unwilling to listen to your complaint. He told us "That his customer service is not the issue, it's his customers that complain too much and that his work is professional". 6. When we made the phone call the same evening as the service date and never heard back from him, until we called him again. He stated that "he didn't feel making return phone calls wasn't necessary".
