Mr. Handyman of Northern St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties

Did not go well at all. We had to get someone else to do it.

i hired Mr. Handyman to vent microwave to out doors, finish tiling behind my range. Both jobs were repairs from a poor job Peacock company made. The service provider decided I did not need my wall tiled and he did not do the job. He suggested painting and caulking trim around my garage door. He did a poor job with that too and it costed several hundred dollars in labor, materials, and his time to shop for materials. He stayed at my house for 8 hours. I recently had my microwave replaced and ehen the service providers removed the microwave I discovered Mr. Handyman tore a big hole in the sheetrock. My microwave was not venting properly...venting was weak. I did not know he made the issues that needed repaired worst. I emailed Mr. Handyman and sent pictures and the only resolutions were to pay someone else to fix the issue and when I said I will not pay to have them repair it And to infirm them of how a service orovider if my choice repaired the problem. I do not recommend Mr. Handyman to do work. They lack intergrity. They are not to be trusted.

The tech worked hard to find the problem. Great job!

Jay was professional, efficient and genuinely concerned about the electrical issue I was having. He was responsive to my questions and more than willing to give a thorough explanation so I understood what he was doing!

Although they charge hourly, and some projects even though they seem small end up costing a lot because they end up taking time, they always do a great job.

Meh. They did a good job on one bathroom. In the second bathroom the gentlemen saw that there was slight molding and one fiberglass wall panel was bowed very slightly. He said he could not guarantee the wall was not moldy and would not guarantee his work. Seemed like an overabundance of caution in an old house where nothing is square. I ended up removing the caulk in the second bathroom myself and checking the wall for mold (via access panel). All mold was superficial and my caulking job turned out just as good. Since there was an initial, large 'show-up' fee and then an hourly rate, it worked out to a very expensive way to re-caulk one bathroom instead of a reasonable way to do two. I probably won't use them again for basic maintenance I can do myself; I thought this would be a good way to save time but it didn't, and it still cost a lot :( Lest you think it was all bad, the gentlemen who worked on our house was very professional and knew his stuff - he was just overly cautious. If you have a project you really can't or won't do, I think these guys would do just fine.

Excellent work. He was polite, courteous and bothered to wear booties over his shoes so not to track dirt into the house. The cost: $58 flat fee, plus $96/per hour for labor.

Marginal. The materials used were inferior for the purpose intended. This was to be a wheelchair ramp but hand railings had massive jagged edges which could lead to splinters. After two years the ramp is becoming unstable in that it is shaky. The business owner would not have built this for his own use but was happy to deliver as complete. It still stands but is destined to become fire wood. Upon completion my impression was favorable so I hired for additional work. Today I'm dealing with regret for not having taken the time to locate a better qualified and competent craftsman.

The work completed is beautiful and professional. Mr. Handyman arrived on time, measured, went to the store purchased the materials and then removed the old lattice and installed the new lattice. The lattice was reinforced below the soil line to make it difficult for critters to try to get under the deck. Looks wonderful! While on the job, also repaired our deadbolt lock.

There is a flat rate fee for them to come out and I think he got the project done in the allotted amount of time. It was a little expensive. He responded pretty good because he came out the first time but they didn't ship all the parts and then it took us likea couple of weeks to get the rest of the parts that we ordered. As soon as we got the parts we called him and he was there the next day. I was satisfied with their work.

The job was done quickly and professionally.

After letting Mr. Handyman management know that it didn't seem correct to pay for an hour of services when no services were rendered they agreed and have since corrected the situation. They were very professional to work with to resolve the issue.

It was raining and had a leaking window. They had a person in the area and he was able to come over within a couple hours. He was confident that it needed some caulking. Since it was raining and wet he could not do it at today. He was at my home for 15 minutes tops with the cost of $132! ($42 for coming out and $98 for an hour of service). Even though since it was raining and could not do the job still get billed for an hour of work! Ridiculous!!! Bottom line if you are going to have Mr. Handyman come out you better know exactly the issue and be sure they can work on it because their pricing model charges you for an hour of work even if they do nothing.

He had to return to fix a broken water tube on the Refrigerator caused when the the Refrigerator was moved back into place. My Bosch Dishwasher now works again! They also fix gas grills, but mine was "too far gone" to make it reasonable. I will use them to "tune up" my new gas grill as needed..

I purchased the door and door hardware at Lowes and brought it home. Mr. Handyman arrived on time. Once the tech inspected the existing door, he asked a few questions and than started. I was obvious to me that he knew what he was doing. He installed the door and all of the hardware. He did a great job. As a former Pella Window & Door sales rep, I was very impressed. I would recommend them on this type of project.

On-time and service performed like we needed.

Professional. On time. Finished job quicker than estimated time. Cleaned up after themselves. At my request, they walked through my house with me and answered questions about additional job I may have them do in the future.

Arrived on time, did an excellent job. Contractor worked around me having to touch up some paint on walls surrounding where replacement counter top was to be installed.

First of all, the whole process took about twice as long as I was told it would and then cost twice as much. It all seemed ok on the day of service, but just a few weeks after, my kitchen faucet began to leak and I called them out to fix it. They did but then wanted an additional $300 after the boss told me I would not be charged for labor, just parts. The parts were like $25. Now, just less than a year later, one of the toilets is leaking and because the tech sealed/caulked it at the bottom, I was not aware of the leak until it damaged the floor underneath/around it. They sent a tech out to check it out and it seemed fine when he was at my home--we started to make plans as to how/when this would be repaired--but when talking to him on the phone later, it was a different story. They are now saying my floor was bad to begin with when I had them install the other toilet and they are not responsible for any of this! Even after it was this tech himself that told me because the toilet was sealed at the bottom the water from the leak had nowhere to run but underneath hence damaging the floor around it. They will not guarantee their work!! I cannot even use this toilet now as I am afraid it might fall right through the floor! I have also contacted the better business bureau about this situation.

Was a little pricey. Contractor seemed a bit confused about what to do. He did not complete all of the things we discussed.

When I purchase this PLUMBING package I thought I was getting a professional plumber at least one with a professional snake. Please don't advertise under PLUMBING. Most people looking for plumbing services are doing just that looking for a plumber! The REAL plumber that I had to pay and come out after you left said 80% of his calls were for clogged drains which is what I told your company, that the washer drain was backing up! YOU should have stated that you don't fix drains.

Very professional employees. The job ended up taking loner than expected but handyman stuck with the original quote even though they could have charged more. Thanks again look forward to working with in the future.

They sent the plumber out, and they said that they couldn't do the work, they didn't have the right parts. They were polite and professional.

This was an unfortunate experience but Mr Handyman went out of their way to make it right.

Ok but it took way longer than it should have.
