Description of Work: I used Drain Surgeon Inc. to fix a gas line to the fire place because it wasn't working.

Description of Work: I called Drain Surgeon because of a leaking 2nd floor shower drain that was starting to damage the first floor ceiling below the shower. An appointment was set for the following day. Within the scheduled time window, two technicians arrived which was somewhat surprising because I expected only one. They immediately assessed the condition and determined that the only way to access the leaking connection was to cut out a section of the first floor ceiling (which was as I had expected). They cut as small a piece from the ceiling as was possible while still allowing access to the leaking shower drain. Removal of the old drain line was very challenging due to the cramped location between the ceiling joists and location of nearby water supply piping. They tried several different method of unscrewing the old drain line but could not loosen it. They finally had to break apart the old drain line fitting to the shower floor. Once the fitting pieces were removed they determined which compenents had to be replaced. They left to get the needed components and returned a short time later. Installation of the new components was completed quickly and they ran the shower to assure that there was no more leakage. They also provided contact information for couple of dry wall technicians that could repair the ceiling cutout. Overall, the service was good for the following reasons: The appointment was scheduled for less that 24 hours after I called The technicians arrived within the promised time window. The technicians immediately and correctly assessed the condition and the needed steps to repair it. Two technicians were sent, which proved necessary to repair the leak. The technicians minimized the ceiling damage necessary to repair the leak.. The technicians minimized the spread of debris from the repair. The technicians dilligently worked to overcome the challenges presented by the cramped location, stuck fitting, and overhead work conditions. The repair was completed within the minimum amount of time necessary. The technicians kept me informed of their progress. The bill for their services was reasonable.

Description of Work: The father and son team arrived on time. My kitchen sink was clogged and drained within 15 minutes, using a professional declogging machine. Brief explanation of the problem and procedure was given in a courteous way. Service fee was appropriate. Would call them back and most certainly recommend the service to others.

Description of Work: I have an older small home that was built by a handyman in the 50's. Its pretty outdated and its got a small crawl space. After owning it for about 15 years, the toilet just was not working well. The fixture was ok, and the septic was deemed ok by the my long-term septic service. So I called The Drain Surgeon, and he came out to have a look. Well, first of all the toilet was not vented. This is a basic must, and he installed venting in less than a day. However, he discovered after some manual digging next to the house that the drainage to the septic was leaking out. He needed to get help to get a better look at more of the drain pipe. So he brought a Bobcat out the next day and went to work with some manual help from a younger fellow he brought that day. He showed me more of the problem as the digging progressed. It was obviously leeching out near the house. The pipe was just plain old and needed some replacement. For a thousand dollars, he replaced the broken part of the drain pipe, and installed the vent next to the house, without going thru the 'short' attic. I feel very certain that he was not only professional but definitely fair priced. I can only imagine how this problem could have cost 3 times as much and I would not have known the difference. Part of the drainage pipe runs under a small garage that was built after the septic was installed. Another drain service company could easily have tried to tell me the whole system was old and needed replacement. Based on what I saw, I would have been inclined to believe it. But instead, The Drain Surgeon did only what was needed, I have had no further problems, and its been at least 7 years since he did the work. In fact I think its more like 10 years. The area that was excavated was put back neatly, it was a shady area with limited foiliage. I was glad to have it done so quickly too. I continue see his truck(s) around from time to time, and my impression is that he does not have any problems finding jobs.. he is honest, fair and gets the job done quickly and without suprises. I can easily recommend him- strongly!

Description of Work: Very pleased with the responsiveness. He came the very next day. I particularly liked that when I called him, he walked me thru several things to check to make sure the sump pump was really broken. Most would not have tried to help me avoid a service visit. He was punctual and quick when he was here. So far the pump has worked great! Thank you!

Description of Work: Repair damaged copper pipe above the meter. We have used Drain Surgeon several times. I think we had them out for something since this June date but I could not find the receipt. So since I knew the exact date and cost for the pipe repair I am using that.. The people from Drain Surgeon do a good job and charge a fair price

Description of Work: Previously, we had a clogged drain taken care of and an estimate was given for the work that was done on this visit. A whole-house water filter was installed because when our new pump was installed at the first of this year, we kept getting sand clogging our outside hose timers and in from our sink faucet.

Description of Work: These guys are GREAT!! They helped me with an longstanding drain problem in my garage. Everyone else that I had look at it recommended expensive fixed when in fact it was a plugged pipe which they fixed quickly. I had them come back and install a new sink and toilet....another job well done. They were very thorough and did exactly what I asked them to do.
