+ -1 moreWe purchased this house last year and began the battle to renovate and restore the property, which had been neglected. One part of the job was painting the interior. Because the house is 75 years old, all the trim and built-ins were coated with lead paint. Mr. McGowan of Colonial Restorations advised us that the best way to proceed was to use a binding primer over the coated surfaces, followed by two coats of a high-quality oil-based paint. This approach worked beautifully. He also repaired dents and cuts in our walls to make smooth wall surfaces in all rooms. Patrick also repaired the glazing on our old windows, and painted them. A different contractor, whom Mr. McGowan helped us select, painted the clapboards. Patrick McGowan is a great guy and a fine painter. We were fortunate to discover him, and delighted with his work. We were also pleased with his prices.
Description of Work: Patrick McGowan, the company's owner, painted the trim in our house, walls, and ceiling. He did an excellent job, and also advised us on selecting a company to paint the exterior of our home. He was prompt, cheerful, efficient, and also helped us select colors when we were in doubt. This is an old house, and the interiors now look beautiful.
