+ 0 moreI got an appointment first thing in the morning (8am), because otherwise there was no time frame for when to expect them - they were just going to call me sometime that day when they were on their way. I found that pretty frustrating. Otherwise, it went pretty well. They sent two guys, who were on time, called before they showed up, and seemed to have a good array of tools to deal with any situation. They were reasonably friendly and didn't take very long.

+ -1 moreMy First call was yesterday after calling another company that was booked. They recommended Bob Frame Plumbing Service. Bathroom sink faucets were leaking. Bob Frame Plumbing thought that they probably wouldn't be able to get to it yesterday, but would try. They promised today. Today: The office called to say the plumber was on his way, called again when he had been called to an emergency to assist one of his partners. The expected duration of the delay was given and we were called again when he was heading our way. He arrived, assessed the problem, had his tools and parts to repair the leaking faucets. He was done within the hour. Pleasant professional man. $125.
Description of Work: Repaired, replaced hot & cold valves of the bathroom sink.

+ -1 moreFirst I was told by the technician that "we don't do warranty work". I explained that this warranty allows me to select my contractor and all he will need to do is verify that the problem is and provide and estimate to the warranty company. He walked through the house and didn't turn on any water in any of the places where leakage was a problem. Just shined a flashlight and said, yep that needs replaced. Went through the whole house that way, everything that he looked at, said it needed replaced without testing anything. He mentioned items that didn't even have a problem, like the garbage disposal and said it was rusting and needs replaced. We had problems with our shutoffs being limed up and corroded, so turning them on caused them to leak. He couldn't replace these the same day, so we went without water except for two sinks (one which had a leak) for over a week while his office tried to come up with cost estimate. They sent me an estimate for $1700, but wouldn't break it down so we could choose not to replace items that we felt were fine such as the disposal. We finally had to give up since they were unable to provide us with 4 separate estimates that could be turned into the warranty company for reimbursement, and we called another plumber. My second opinion plumber looked at the garbage disposal and said it looks brand new, probably wasn't used much by the previous owner (who was in a wheel chair). He also looked at the toilet that supposedly needed to be "rebuilt" according to Bob Frame, and said it just needs to be re-set correctly so it doesn't leak. The Bob Frame plumber seemed to have an attitude and wasn't all that pleasant either.
Description of Work: I called to get a plumber out to fix several items that came up as we were preparing to move into our house. The only good thing was that Bob Frame was available within a couple days and most other plumbers were a week out. I pointed out all of the problem areas to the plumber for him to look at, and asked that we get an estimate broken down by each area (kitchen sink, master bath, toilet etc) because we were working to submit a claim to a warranty company for reimbursement.

I called them and Leslie immediately acknowledged the scheduling conflict and moved us to the top of the list. I would highly recommend them. However, understand that they might not be able to come on the same day depending on their work load.

+ -1 moreThe provider quickly arranged a visit with my tenant at this rental property, which was nice so I did not have to play the middleman. The provider came to house to repair the faucet, however could not fully complete the repair in one visit because they needed to turn off the main water valve from the City. After several days the City repaired their valve and the provider returned to complete the task. A new spray nozzle was to be installed but the provider did not have a drill on his truck to drill the sink hole bigger. They said an additional $100 service charge would be required for that. I declined to have this completed. The provider completed the rest of the job quickly. 18 days later the provider still has not called to collect credit card information for payment. A phone call was placed on 8/19, however they were closed at 4:25pm.
Description of Work: Installed a new kitchen faucet.

+ -1 moreOn the Saturday before Christmas, my wife was cleaning up after dinner and our kitchen drain became plugged and the garbage disposal stopped working. I did some basic plumbing but the clog was way down in the pipes. I called Bob Frame around 7:00 and got their answering service. A plumber called me in less than a half hour. He explained that they were on double overtime and that it would be $280 per hour, and suggested I might wait until Monday if cost was an issue. There was no way we could wait until then to use the kitchen so we just decided to bite the bullet. The plumber was at my house within the hour. He was very clean, even wearing special booties over his shoes. He quickly fixed the blockage and got the garbage disposal unblocked and working too. The whole job took about an hour and he did not charge us for travel time. He was very polite and professional. I will definitely call Bob Frame the next time I need a plumber. I gave the price a B just because it was double overtime! But it was a Saturday evening, so what can you do?

+ -1 moreThis company was referred to me by anther plumber who did not have the equipment to do the service. Initially everything went great. They performed the service as request, my tenant was very happy with the outcome. The company was unable to roto-root the house drain and referred me to the City to determine if there was a blockage in the sewer main. The problem with this company came in that they took nearly 1 month to send me a bill. I applaud them for taking the time to consider that they were not able to completely fix the problems at my property, but timeliness could have been much better.
Description of Work: This company re-fastened my shower plumbing to the inside of the wall and attempted to roto-root the main house drain.

+ -1 moreThe saddle valve had become stuck in the "on" position. My attempt at making a repair only made the problem worse. I originally called another company, but they were busy so they referred me to Bob Frame. They sent someone out within a couple of hours and he advised me to replace the saddle valve with a proper shut-off valve. (This was in accord with numerous internet articles that I had read -- professional plumbers consider saddle valves to be unreliable and won't install them.) The work was excellent and was done quickly.
Description of Work: A saddle valve controlling the feeder line to a humidifier was replaced by a shut-off valve.

+ 0 moreHad the main line to the sewer back up on me. A real emergency was on our hands. I called Bob Frame around 4:30 pm and the guys showed up around 10 pm that evening to clean out the drain. I had called a couple other companies and they wanted me to wait until the following afternoon. Not with Bob Frame they know how to take cake of their clients. It took them about an hour and a half to clear up the drain. Awesome job

+ -1 moreThe pilot light in my water heater went and after one successful attempt, would not relight. Then I smelled gas. The water heater was rusted out, and when I bought the house, the inspector told me I'd probably have to replace it soon. I called Monday morning and Bob Frame was ready to send someone out Tuesday morning, but that didn't work in my schedule, so they sent someone out at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The scheduler told me exactly how much it would cost and what the cost would include. I had to leave for work within an hour of his arriving (it was slightly later than I expected), but since the job was going to take three or four hours, and this was the fifth time I've used Bob Frame, I left Scott to do his work and returned at 12:15 to pay and wrap up the paperwork. He was ready to go, the area he worked in was clean, and I've had no problems.

+ 0 moreIt went great. This was my first time having to call someone to my house, and I was nervous about the experience. They were professional, quick and willing to explain everything they were doing When they arrived, they asked a few questions and got right to work. The drain specialists came up a few times to explain where they were in the process, asking permission to walk through the house and access the bathrooms as needed (for doing the work, not using). The plumber was friendly, making small talk but always with his focus on the task at hand. I had a few "extra" questions that I thought might be related, and he was quick to answer. I have had to call Bob Frame a few times since (for different problems) and had the same positive experience (though one time, I'm pretty sure that the plumber was just looking for things to do b/c he fixed the problem in about 20 minutes when he had expected two hours of work...this was annoying, since I was paying for the additional 1.6 hours, but he did give me some useful suggestions).
Description of Work: One plumber (Mark?) and two drain specialists showed up to address three problems: 1) The water pressure in my house. 2) My basement drain was backed up whenever anyone used the shower, toilet or washing machine, and 3) My kitchen sink had a really annoying (and constant) draining sound, as if the water was falling a hundred feet. Mark tested my water pressure in the house and determined the problem was outside the house (and I would need to call the city). He also determined that their was no trap (?) installed under my sink, and it would have to be rebuilt. At the same time, he noticed that I was planning on installing a new faucet. He offered to do this when he came back to build the trap (scheduled for two days later). He also saw that I was going to install a garbage disposal and offered to do that, too, but first recommended that maybe a mesh drain would work just as well (and be far cheaper with no future repairs). He said it was what he used in his own home. This suggestion saved me about $400 and I much prefer the mesh to having a disposal. The drain specialists determined that the roots of the large tree outside my house had broken through my drain, and they would have to cut them out, which they did. It took them about two or three hours. It is a long, noisy, house-shaking process, but completely worth it. I was given a one year warranty, which I had to use three months later when it began backing up again. They came right out the second time, worked for nearly two hours and did not charge me. That work has lasted at least nine months, but they warned that as long as I have the tree, i can count on having to address the roots every year or two.

+ 0 moreSince we live in the county we have a water pump and a septic system. When we have problems we contact a plumber immediately since we want to maintain a balanced working system. We noticed water accumulation in our lower level and called Bob Frame Plumbing. They worked to open our floor drain and then tested the flow by filling our washer and emptying it. As they filled our washer they noticed how slowly the water entered and how often the pump came on. When the workmen finished up they suggested we call the company which installed our pump and if they were unavailable, we were given the name of another company with which Bob Frame Plumbing works. Our pump was tested and reset and we are grateful to the Bob Frame workmen who recognized we had an additional problem.
Description of Work: Floor drain in lower level laundry/kitchen area was plugged and needed to be opened. Water was backing up.

The following morning at about 8:15 I called in and they had people here to repair the waterheater within 20 minutes. The repair was done in less than an hour. The guys were courteous and professional. The cost was half of what I expected and they even had advice as to how to keep it working longer and how to avoid possible expensive problems. I was very impressed with their speed and service. And I am not easy to please.
Description of Work: The thermocouple was replaced and a combustion test was performed.
