Ace Plumbing & Drain Cleaning

I’ve used Ace Plumbing on 4 occasions. Each time, Travis responded very quickly, always alerted me if he was going to be delayed, and when he was on his way. In each case, he diagnosed the problem quickly and got it fixed and back in business within minutes. I am very pleased with the service I received from Ace.

During the polar vortex in late Jan 2019 we had an outside faucet line burst. This was on a Friday night at about 7 PM. I called Travis of Ace Plumbing, told him the issue, and he showed up by 8 PM. He installed 3 shut off valves as a safety measure for some other lines as well as the one that burst. Did it all in under 1 hour. Was the price expensive, yes, but I had water pouring out of an exterior wall on a Friday night and he arrived within the hour and fixed it late on a Friday night. Totally worth it.

Our faucet no longer drips, but this repair cost us $350 because the plumbers didn't know how to take our faucet apart and reassemble it properly! It took them about 5 hours (the last two hours, with two plumbers working on the faucet.) They couldn't even acknowledge that they didn't know how to fix the face properly. Instead they blame their difficulty on the manufacturer, even though our faucet is 20 years old. Travis proudly tells us the faucet had a "manufacturer's defect which we fixed for you." They also replaced the shutoff valve under the sink. I've checked with another plumber and with a contractor: both say that this job should have taken one hour to do (instead of five). They also say that they would have recommended replacing the faucet (for about $70 at Lowes) rather than devoting so much time to repairing our old one. Of the $350 cost, $120 was for parts ("1 Delta faucet cartridge; 1 shutoff valve") . These parts cost at most $24. at Lowes (probably lower). An almost 500% markup seems excessive. They did not overcharge us on labor--quite the contrary, given the 5 hours (or 7 man hours) that they were here and I do appreciate it. They charged us $210, or two hours, for all that hard work. The problem is--repairing a dripping faucet shouldn't be such hard, lengthy work. If you can't repair it for less than the cost of installing a new one, you shouldn't try! I don't know where all these "A" ratings come from; but I doubt they all came from actual customers. Take a look at Ace's rating at the Better Business Bureau. Companies start out at BBB with "A+" ratings, and then ratings go down as people file complaints that are not resolved. Ace has a rating of A- and 3 lengthy complaints that would curl your hair.

Arrived at house within 3 hours of calling them which is what I needed. I've used them 4-5 times in past 2 or 3 years. They are the only ones that can come out same day as calling them and usually within a few hours. Because of that their price is probably a little higher than others but when it's an emergency it's worth it. Just like the Emergency room is more than the walk in clinic.

Ace sent two guys on the same day I called. They did a great job at a reasonable price. Took time to explain controls and settings on the unit.

Initial call was prompt. Provider was somewhat rude on the phone but both workers were very pleasant. Work completed as requested.

The owner of the company was the plumber who came and he had an assistant. He did call to see if he could come earlier than scheduled and that was great since my plumbing was backed up and we have 7 kids. He initially told me that the base price was $135.00. I said that was fine. I explained when he got here that we have two lines and showed him where both were in the basement. He declined cleaning them from the basement so as not to make a mess, which I made clear I did not care about since it was already a mess. He also made it clear he didn't really want to do the second line because the pipe outside was too small. He cleaned out the first line outside and did not get many roots. He then let me know that to clean the second line would cost an extra $105.00. I knew that my husband wanted both done so I had to agree. He did the second line and also found very few roots. I then proceeded to point out that the section he wasn't getting because he didn't do it from the basement has an aged silver maple tree growing right over it and that another guy had gotten a ton of roots from there in the past. Then he lets me know that it will cost me $105.00 more to do it from there since every new section costs extra. I said that since that was where I had made it clear I wanted him to do it from in the first place that I wasn't sure why it should cost extra, and he said that regardless it would still cost extra. I let him know that if that was truly the case then I would never work with their company again and he still said that it would cost $105.00 more. He then proceeded to pack up and then bring me my bill. The bill states and quot;snaked main drain from 2 o.s.c.o. with 2 1/2and quot; and 4and quot; cuplutters (?) 100' pulled out some roots e. c.o. Offered to run cable through basement c.o. for additional $105 but homeowner/client did not approve.and quot; which I did not read until he walked out of the house. The price for all of this was broken down as: (2)main sewer $155+105 (260) and Estimate fee/ trip charge 20- This made the total $280.00. I thought that it was $135+$105!!!! I paid the money and then called the number provided and complained about the overcharging and the deceit on not doing it right from the start. I also will add that the way the boss treated the assistant was appalling and I let the lady who answered know that he deserved a huge raise for having to deal with a guy that is that demeaning all day. That is when I found out that he was actually the owner and the only thing that could be done is let him know I was upset. I said what's the point he already knows. ******to date (a month later) my family returned from an extended camping trip to pipes that were CALLAPSED and a letter from a debt collector from ACE plumbing. I never signed saying I would pay and my husband had me cancel the check for services not rendered. In his explanation ACE neglected to say he flat out refused to do the cleaning from where I asked and I asked for it to be done from the basement cleanout FIRST. I have learned that if I am refused in the services I am asking for then I ask the intimidating guy to leave instead of doing it his way.

Ace was Professional and on time. Replaced the valve with a warranty. They also made valid points about some other issues that were apparent to them without pressure to fix them, some welcome insight. They showed up one time, even a bit early, which was welcome due to the nature of the leak.

Arrived on time. Repaired the leak in 1 hour even while training a plumber apprentice. Great Service!

They arrived on time, cleaned up their mess and did a great job. They called to see if I was satisfied.

They do a good job and are prompt. If they aren't going to be there when they say, they will call. They are very reliable.

They were very professional, right on time, did not waste time and left. It was all good and I will use them again in the future.

Overall, this was as good an experience as I could have hoped for. It is important to ask lots of questions about their fee schedule and the various costs, like the ten dollar trip charge. After that first thirty minutes, there are more charges. You really do want to know what you are getting into. For me, though,this went wonderfully well!

We used them twice. We used them for our home as well as for our rental property. They were very good. I think Travis is the name of the person who came out. I called in the morning and he was out within four to five hours. He came in the afternoon and got things fixed within an hour. He was very prompt and professional. In our rental property he had to put a sediment trap on a gas pipe or something. He worked with us really well there. He was reasonably priced too. Our other bathtub faucet is leaking now, and we have to get him here again.

The experience was great. The guys from ACE (Travis and Logan) came out a few times to service our water heater to try and save us the expense of installing a new one and to make sure we needed a new one 100%. They came out right away, were always on time, and stayed as long as needed to make sure everything was done properly. They cleaned up after themselves, were extremely professional, and didn't hesitate to tell you the truth and their best opinion on how to have the best plumbing for the best price.

This was work on a rental unit. Ace was honest and seemed interested in helping keep the cost of repairs as low as possible. Ace showed up on the scheduled date and completed satisfactory work.

They removed the old cap and replaced it with a new cap and stopped the leak.
