Fantastic. I called Dave midday Friday and he arrived Monday morning as arranged. After examining the damage, he provided and estimate and told me he could start immediately and would complete the work that week. He did a good job of explaining how things would work and what to expect as a result. 2 days into the job, I asked Dave to perform some additional drywall repairs in another room that I felt capable of but after seeing Dave work, I knew he'd do a much better job. I was not disappointed. Dave's finished work was outstanding, especially tying in the texturing on the ceilings in the damaged areas to match with the rest of the ceiling. In fact, one of things Dave did for us was redo the texture on a small section of our kitchen ceiling; the guy who repaired the ceiling drywall several years ago did a poor job with the texturing and it stuck out. Dave's work blended in very well and the repair is no longer obvious. Dave is very conscientious about his work and doesn't leave a mess. I believe his price was very reasonable and I WILL use him again.

Dave was friendly and I liked him from the moment I met him. I gave him a garage door opener and asked him how long it would take. He said about a week and it tood him 10 days. Not an issue at all, as you have to take time between various steps when replacing drywall, for elements to dry.

He presented promptly to our house on work days. On the first day he was here for several hours completing initial repairs. He cleaned up after himself and the work was quiet. He then returned several days later when the initial work had dried and put on another layer of plaster, which was done quickly, again with no left behind mess. (I was expecting to have dust everywhere and was pleasantly surprised.). On the third day he came back to do the texturing. It turned out beautifully and I am not certain once it has been painted it will be possible to see where the repairs were - which is the whole idea. We are very happy and will hire him again if we need to.

It's hard to get excited over drywall, but this job was exceptional. Working solo, Dave made a jagged hole in irregular old plaster/drywall disappear. He fit in new drywall so as to match perfectly the surfaces of the hole and blended it in smoothly. While working on that task, Dave identified other problems with the walls and ceiling. Then, with my approval, he repaired them also. Surprisingly, he was able to refinish everything without sanding, including working over curves in the plaster. This produced a very smooth result and no mess. He was careful, considerate, and prompt in his work. His many years of experience in drywall and other trade tasks was very evident. He also provided tips for my follow-up painting and texturing the surfaces. Amazingly, after the work was done and payment was made, he called me to point out that we had both forgotten about the Angie's List discount, which he sent to me as a refund!

He was an absolute joy to work with. We left a message telling him what we wanted and he called us back the same day. He gave us an estimate over the phone. He came out a few days later, measured the walls, went to the store and brought back the drywall cut and ready to go. He put it up and came back 2 more times to sand it. He never made a mess and did a wonderful job. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dave very quickly and efficiently completed the repair with a high degree of professionalism. His many years of experience enabled him to seamlessly blend the texture of the repaired area into the rest of the ceiling. I was surprised at how easy he made the process look. It was fun to watch him and talk with him as he worked. I will definitely hire him for future projects and recommend him to others.

Dave After reviewing Angies List we contacted Dave who was able to come by that same day for an estimate. We have had 2 previous ceiling repairs done on our home and had some concerns regarding mess and ceiling texturing - we did not want to have someone do the drywall repair and then hire someone else do the texturing, we also did not want someone inexperienced doing the texturing given our previous experiences. Dave's excellent reviews on Angies List and his detailed explanation of what he would be doing reassured us immediately. His pricing was very reasonable. He completed all the work quickly and efficiently while explaining everything along the way. We are thrilled with the results - you can't tell where the new repair is - and we didn't have to clean up a thing!

We had attempted to match the texture pattern in ceilings where we'd patched the drywall after having moved some light fixtures. After spending a couple of hours and countless tools and techniques, we gave up. I called Dave and he stopped by the same day. Once I agreed on what I considered a reasonable price, he set to work. It only took 2 trips and he returned the next day to finish up. He was a bit delayed on the second trip and called to let me know. He was happy to let me watch and even gave me a few tips. He did a terrific job and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

Dave did not seem to be serious about our job, leaving early on 2 days and taking a week to complete a job that should have taken 2-3 days. The job was not large, putting up 4 sections of wallboard (2 sections of 4'x2', 1 section 10'x2' and 1 section 10' x 1'). He treated our job as if it was part-time work to be scheduled at his convenience with no particular deadline, making phone calls and leaving early for long lunches. Once he was spoken to about how long the job was taking, he did speed up. Several areas of the drywall were not flat; the rippled areas were visible when we applied primer. We had to have these areas remudded and sanded before we could paint. Dave seems like a nice guy, but we would not work with him again. (The $200 charge was for the two 10' sections only. A local window company paid for the other 2 sections.)

Dave is a very nice and honest guy. He was able to provide a solution to my problem above my tub (my son had scraped-off big chunks of the textured ceiling material), consulted me immediately when he discovered the ceiling drywall was sagging to discuss options. He was very good about keeping me informed, giving me options, and letting me make the choice. He made several trips to sand and layer materials. He also removed a one foot section of textured ceiling material that was flaking off due to a previous leak, and then matched the texture to blend-in with the rest of the ceiling. The third item I had him do was two outside corners that I had started to repair myself. Once I realized it was too difficult for me to get a nice looking 90 degree corner on these highly visible areas, that is when I called him to correct my mistakes. The corners look great, and painted extremely smooth! Since I have not hired a drywaller before, I had no idea of what to expect as far as the price. He did make three separate trips to my home, so the price was probably reasonable.

Dave repaired nail pops in a two-story ceiling. He rented the appropriate equipment to do the job, when others told me they would simply "jerry-rig" something to reach the problem. That made me alot more comfortable. Dave also repaired some settling damage to ceilings in our master bath and a bedroom. He did a great job fixing the trouble spots and matching the texture. You can't even tell there was a problem!

Called Dave, told him the extent of damage and he gave us an estimate. Stated this was a firm estimate and it would't go up even it required more work than expected. He was true to his word even when the wall was more difficult than first expected. The work took about four days which is really good because with drywall repairs you have to wait for the mud to dry prior to going to the next step of repairs. He explained in detail how he was doing the repairs, what problems he had found, and also had me look at process at different times to ensure I was happy with it. What was remarkable was how little dust he created when taking down drywall, scaping off texture and the mudding process. Dave always used a drop cloth to collect the debris and cleaned up after each day. From watching him work, you can tell Dave tries to be a perfectionist, exceptional at his craft, and truely loves workng with drywall. After the project was complete, Dave called me the next day to ensure I was still satisfied with the quality of work and stated he would come back out if something was right ( I firmly believe he would come out several times if it was needed to ensure customer satisfaction).
Description of Work: 1. In living room area, the original owners had enclosed an area to create a computer room. However, on opposing side of wall in the living room, a section of the wall had a protrusion from it. When owners re-textured the new drywall, it didnt match the exisiting textured wall. Dave removed small sections of drywall to determine what was causing problem. Found out owners had not removed the metal corner piece. Dave removed metal piece, added some bracing, replaced the drywall, taped, mudded and re-textured wall. Dave also sanded down some of the old texture in other areas of wall which had been put on too thick so it would also match the existing wall. 2. In same general area (hallway), original owners during the remodel, had widened original entry way and moved back a room column. During this they had to then repair a section of the ceiling drywall and re-texture. However, you could see the seams of the patch work (found out they hadn't put tape on the seams of new drywall piece). Dave scrapped off the texture on ceiling, re-taped, mudded, & re-textured ceiling. 3. In same entry way, owners had moved location of overhead lighting and patched the ceiling area however, the put on the texture too thick and didn't match rest of ceiling. Daved scrapped off texture, mudded & re-textured ceiling. 4. In upstairs mechanical room, at some point there had been an ongoing leak which caused large sections of the ceiling drywall to peel away. It was an absolutely an eye soar. Dave removed/replaced all the damaged drywall and mud from ceiling. He did an exceptional job to ensure the mud and tape job was smooth. We can't believe how nice it looks now.
