It went great!
Description of Work: Robert build a handicap accessible deck from the garage to our back door out of composite wood. He did a great job. The price was high but going with composite wood it is going to be high. He even gave ideas when we wasn't sure on what would be best way to do it and Robert had great ideas. We worked hard to make sure we where pleased with the work. We have had a lot of work done this year to finish the upstairs in the house and Robert was by far the best construction worker we dealt with. If I need anymore work done I will be calling Robert. I even asked for extra business cards to pass out to friends and family. Thanks Robert for your hard work!
We found Robert here on Angie's List. He was local and his company seemed perfect for all of the jobs we needed to complete. We had just bought a house here in Shelbyville, and definitely needed to update and add more storage. We contacted Robert initially to take away the old storage shed, break up the broken slab, pour the slab for the new barn, and to tear out the pantry in the kitchen, as we wanted a dining area. We also had a broken window in our son's room, and the back door was damaged. We had several companies give us estimates. They were all FAR and ABOVE what Robert quoted us, by a SERIOUSLY wide margin. Also, we liked Robert as soon as we met him. Even before the miracle quote. And Robert saved us from having to hire 4 different companies to do what he could do ALL in one perfectly priced package. Robert showed up bright and early the first day, as promised. The work was being done behind the house, and honestly I have NO idea what time he got there, because I wasn't awake. It's a very new experience to wake up and have everything you hate about your backyard gone. That was the best morning! We have hired other contractors to do "random stuff" in our house, and they've really let us down one way or another. I told my husband this morning, (after dealing with our cabinet maker and staining people) "Why can't everyone just be Robert?" Honestly, we have asked a LOT from Robert. He always comes through. Every SINGLE time. I have worried and freaked out and worried some more about the money, and the house.. But we always know we have Robert. And it makes me feel SO MUCH better. It sounds corny saying he's part of our family now, but he is. Since moving to this state, and meeting him, he has been so good to us. I will always ask him if he knows how to do a job before hiring anyone. He won't steer us wrong.
Description of Work: Pulled out the walls and doors of a utility closet and a pantry to expand the size of our kitchen and laundry room, and repaired the floors, walls, and ceilings, matching the exact texture and level throughout. Broke up and hauled away the storage shed and slab from the backyard. Poured a very large (and higher than usual) cement slab in the backyard for a new storage barn. Built a new deck in the backyard. Cut down a large tree on the side of the house. Removed 2 stumps from the backyard. Minor electric work in the kitchen. Replaced the back door, and repaired the frame. Replaced a broken storm window in our son's room. Installed additional shelving in the new barn. He also helped us with moving appliances and kitchen cabinets. Hauled away miscellaneous debris.
My husband was mobilize for the military to another state, and I needed a lot of work done to my house. Someone had suggested R.T. Construction to me, so I called them. I must say I got a lot more than I had expected from one company. I had asked Robert for a lot, at first it was just for siding and windows (his primary profession). Being so pleased with his work, we started discussing other things I wanted to do with my house but did not really have the time. My conversations with Robert were very professional, but very personal also. He had made suggestions after I had told him what I wanted, and I agreed skeptically, but it all worked out great. I have the upmost confidence in R.T. Construction and would suggest him to anyone else (as a matter of fact I did, and they were very happy too). And I'm sure I will be calling on him again. Robert was not only professional, but as he puts it; he put his "personal touch" into all the jobs he had done for me. His crew was very profeswsional and courteous also.
Description of Work: Robert Turner replaced all windows and siding- paying close attention to details around wiring and other things going into the house. He also built a deck on the front of my house, taking care to set the posts correctly and spacing the boards evenly. He also remodeled my master bathroom; adding a shower, plumbing, drywall and everything else it needed, (it didn't even have a bath tub) without having to change any dimensions to my bedroom. Its like he knew exactly which walls he could change and where he could find extra space without taring anything up. I also had a leak in my roof, and Robert was nice enough to patch it for me. He said it was a bad spot around my chemney, so he put flashing on and roofing tar to stop the leak. He had informed me that it should have been done when my roof was replaced. (I wish he was around when I had that done)
