Exceeded my expectations - outstanding work. We had a fallen tree plus other issues from a wind storm. Brad was quick to respond and performed the work asap. Brad and his team are highly skilled and the have the right equipment to remove trees without impact to the rest of the property. They have also done other work on our property with the same excellence. Also, their pricing is quite reasonable. I highly recommend Brad and his team.

Had a wonderful experience with Arbor Care. Professional, great work and very reasonable pricing. I asked for simple and easy to maintain and they delivered and then some. New Grass seed was also silt seeded into the lawn and need another week to 10 days to come in. What you see in the after is the crabgrass and weeds dying off as the new seeds germinate. I'll add a new picture after the grass comes in. HIGHLY recommend!

They were slow in setting up times, slow in communication, extremely difficult to reach. I work, I don't have days and days to keep calling them. The work was a lot more expensive than other's quotes but we had good recommendations. The work was good but the effort to reach them was too much. I need another tree trimmed this year and called twice now-no response. I am a busy person, I don't have a personal assistant to constantly call them. Hiring someone else.

Very prompt in responding to my request for quotes and get the job done. Everything is done within one week of my first email to them. They clean up the working area really well. I do not see any mulch on the lawn. They are better than the two companies that I have used before. Will definitely use them again.

First they came and gave us an estimate for the work we needed done. The guy was very knowledgeable about all of our trees and plants. He identified all the plants and trees in our yard as we had just moved into the house and are not experts. He provided us with a couple of very helpful tips to improve our landscaping and protect our trees and plants. He came approx. three days later after we accepted the estimate and removed the small pine tree and 4 Juniper bushes quickly and without doing any damage to our property or lawn. He provided us with written proof of insurance as he started the job. The estimate of $195.00 was very fair for the work completed. We will definitely call this company if we have any other yard issues. They provided excellent service and were friendly and on time.

Brad and his brother, who are the owners, worked with the crew. Thus, there was good supervision and maximum care was taken to be sure landscaping , etc. was not damaged. Everyone was busy and not standing around watching others work. The equipment is in top notch condition and there was a machine for every part of the job. The entire yard was cleaned up properly on completion of the job.

They also trimmed dead wood out of some honey locust trees and that looks a lot better. Cleanup was fine. Job was a bit more expensive than I would have liked but the tree did require climbing and careful topping so maybe I was unrealistic in my expectations.
Description of Work: They took down a very large tree that had fallen and was supported by another tree. This was in a thickly treed area with fence and house deck close by. They were able to get it down without damaging any of the surrounding vegetation. I told them that they could leave the logs there but had asked them to be cut up into smaller lengths. As it was they left one ~20ft truck that cannot be moved. This is not visible in the summer but is in the winter and I would have liked to be able to move sections. I did not call them back as I did not notice this until leaves fell.

The company did some tree trimming for me several years ago and I was pleased with the job they did, although it was hard to make phone contact. This time Brad stopped by and alerted me that the tree needed treatment for ash borer. He gave me an estimate and I said I would think it over and let him know. When I called and left a message that I wanted to go ahead with the treatment, the call was not returned. No appointment had been scheduled, but the crew showed up unannounced. I just happened to be home, so the work was done and took about half an hour. The service provided was fine, but communication was less than satisfactory. I appreciated Brad letting me know that the tree needed treatment and I would use Arbor Care again for follow-up to this treatment, but would probably not call on them for any new work.

Responded quickly with a written estimate and copy of insurance coverage. He was punctual on the appointment date and trees and stumps were removed, clean up was outstanding. I thought black spots on my house and porch were from spores from the crabapple tree but the tree specialist informed me they were artillery spores found in mulch. He supported this with information he provided from Perdue University When finished with my project my neighbor asked him to take a small tree down for him which he did .

I saw thier truck and equipment at a neighbor's property for several days and stopped to ask them for an estimate. They came at the time requested, gave us an appraisal and stuck with the price. I work in the insurance business and he supplied Evidence of insurance upon request. . The employees were hard workers and the owner right along side. They took down several large trees, removed some stumps and cleaned up the area when they left. I did hire them later for another project.

The company was very punctual and prompt to get the quote for the service. I was not home, but the quote was left in my mailbox. After receiving it, I tried to schedule the appointment, but the guy who did the scheduling was always out of the office. It took about a week for him to call back, saying that he could do the service the next day. I accepted, and she showed up about three hours after I had expected him. He was able to upsell me from having only limbs removed from near the power line (my major concern) to removing deadwood from the entire tree. There was much more deadwood than I had known about. The debris was put into their mulcher and removed from the site. One month later, I've had a few small branches fall, but less than had been falling, and the power line is happy. Overall, I'm happy with the service, but also frustrated about the delays in scheduling and responsiveness after I had gotten the quote.
Description of Work: I had deadwood removed and ash borer insecticide applied to a tree. The deadwood was removed by two guys who climbed into the tree (one using spikes on his shoes and the other not). They also used a cherry-picker to remove deadwood from the top of the tree. Quite a lot of dead wood was removed, including wood that was threatening to bring down my power line. The insecticide used was called Tree-age. It's quite expensive, but it's the only option available for injecting into large ash trees.

He just kept adding things on when I had him for the estimate. He wanted exorbitant amount of money just to trim the trees. He is very pricey. There aren't any good tree services in Kokomo. When I used him about three years ago I spent $1000 for three maples. The City had put in new curbing and new sewers and injured the trees, so he used some kind of liquid and crystal and then he went in and trimmed up my trees. He is very responsive. He was right out here. I don't think I will be using him unless it is a serious issue with the trees.

1) Above mentioned work was done Apr-18 (2011). 5 guys worked about 4-5 hours each; cost was ~$1350. 2) Immediately after work was completed, I noticed that front walnut had a limb that still seemed to droop too low in my opinion. I didn't think too much about it, nor did I study the other trees in detail. At time of work, leaves were just sprouting out (less so on the walnut). By early June, it become obvious that that the low-hanging walnut limb would have to be addressed, within weeks it was going to be a head knocker on the sidewalk. 3) So, ~mid-June I called Arbor Care back and left a message. I stated my case, that I felt, for the price that I paid (~$1350), that I should be able to go at least 1-year without having any limbs droop down to the sidewalk (to me this isn't asking too much). Since this walnut tree was so close to the street, I felt I was not asking too much for them to swing by sometime (for free) and whack off this low hanging limb. Granted it is a good size limb (15' long, 2and quot;diam), but they would be able to easily reach this from the street, and throw the limb in the back of their truck and be gone; a 10 minute job. I did not use disrespectful or overly aggressive language on the message. I felt I stated my case justly using the sort of language as described here. 4) Waited a couple days, no call back. I called again and left a message around Jun-22. Left the exact same sort of message. Did not get anymore aggressive, but I was holding back my feelings as I was upset (inside) that they had not, at least, returned my call. 5) Went on vacation between Jun-27 and Jul-4, out of town. 6) Then, after Jul-4, walnut nuts were growing on limb, and now it was, indeed, a head knocker (limb within inches of touching my 6'3and quot; head). Something truly had to be done with this limb. But, I don't have the tree trimming equipment for even a simple job like this. 7) So, I called again around Jul-10. This time it was busy, so I didn't leave a message. 8) Called again around Jul-15. Left another message. This time, I showed a little more feelings. But, I was more stammering and long-winded than mouthy. 9) Arbor Care never called back, and never left a message this whole time. I had left 3 messages by this time. 10) Jul-19, 2011 (at least 1-month since my first call). I called in the morning from work. This time I got a hold of Todd (one of the owners). This conversation turned out to be the shoddiest, poorest professional conversation I have ever had concerning any personal or business interaction in my life (I am an engineer with a local manufacturer company). I was so shocked and upset by Todd's unprofessionalism that I expressly decided I would join Angie's List specifically for the sole purpose of leaving this poor review, so that other people may be spared this guy's unprofessionalism. 11) The conversation started off with me asking for them to come back and cut this walnut limb. Todd said that he would; that he had planned on doing so “eventually”. Then, Todd expressed his feelings that I had insulted his business integrity with my 1st phone message. I thought his reaction was a bit overly sensitive. 12) In return, I then expressed my main issue for being upset, by this time, was that they never called me back. I would have been less frustrated with a call back that denied my request (I would have been upset), but the deal would have been over. As it was, since they never called me back, I was left hanging continuing to try to get them to respond to my request. That, to me, is a legitimate complaint by itself let alone fixing the low limb. 13) In reply, Todd started to get considerably louder, he re-iterated that he was going to do the work, gave a reason to explain the low limb (rainy spring), and said that no Tree company would ever come back for a request such as mine. Then, he threatened that he would not come back if I kept complaining on the phone. Note that all I had done, so far, was state my frustration that they never called back. He seemed to think it was fair to state his feelings, but I couldn't state mine. ... True, it had been a rainy spring, but, to me, it is unacceptable to have such a low hanging limb within 2 months after completing the job like this. 14) Then, I tried to state my case again about the primary issue being the no call backs, and that the limb appeared low immediately after the job was done, prior to the rainy spring weather. 15) Then, Todd got extremely loud. He never was vulgar, but he was nearly screaming into the phone. My blood pressure and heart beat jumped up quite a few notches. I tried to slip in a 'sorry' to calm him a bit, but he continued to press his point and anger. He started making his ultimatum very clear, that he would not do the work if I kept talking. 16) The thought then occurred to me that I didn't HAVE to deal with this guy ever again. I would rather pay money to another service company, then to allow this guy the opportunity to redeem himself to me. So, I said, and quot;I see what you are all about. I'll get someone else to take care of this. Goodbye!and quot; And, I hung up on him. I was never more glad to be free of an individual like that. 17) And, the really sad irony of this whole thing is that the only reason I picked this guy from the Yellow Pages is that he had a Christian Cross on his ad. Devoted Christian or not, this sort of unprofessional behavior was very rude and the extreme opposite of customer oriented service, especially considering how small my follow-up request amounted to. 18) So, tonite, I came home, paid the Angie's List membership fee and wrote this review. 19) Also (tonite), as I now survey all 7 trees in more detail, I see a lot more dead limbs than I would expect there to be. 20) All 4 front trees have about ~6 noticeable places EACH with dead limbs that were not trimmed (none of these are large branches, but still lots of places where dead limbs still exist, missed by Arbor Care), and 21) 1 of the back trees has TWO VERY LARGE dead branches (~4and quot; diameter, 10-15' long each) that were missed. Both of these dead limbs are no more than 20’ off the ground in clear PLANE sight with no other limbs around them! Not sure how they missed these! 22) So, now, I don't think they did that great of a job ANYWAY, regardless of this ridiculous behavior on the phone. 23) FOLLOW-UP #1: The above blown-up conversation occurred on Jul-19. Guess-what? On Jul-20, 2011 (the next day), Arbor Care showed up around 3pm and whacked away the low hanging walnut limb. My wife was home at the time; said it took them all of 10-15 minutes to cut it, put it in their grinder and be gone. 24) I’m glad they took care of this, but doesn’t it seem odd that it takes ridiculous behavior like this on the part of the owner (which I can only think invoked guilty feelings on his part involving poor business conduct) to get them to immediately change their priorities, when for a whole month prior, he must have rationalized to himself and felt justified that he didn’t have to return my calls and address my simple request? 25) This makes it hard to believe Todd’s statement that they were eventually going to address this. I believe that if I never caught Todd, live, on the phone, that nothing would have ever happened. Eventually, after several months of messages, I would have given up (figured out another way to fix the issue) and my request would have become a distant memory. In every way possible, Todd couldn’t have handled this simple request any worse! 26) FOLLOW-UP #2: Now early August (2011), one of the very large DEAD limbs off the back tree fully fell off. Wow! Dead wood scattered all over the back yard (4-6” diameter limb well over 15’ long). How could they have missed this! And, there is another LARGE limb still up there. Sloppy work! #1) Biggest issue was the lack of Follow-up Response (not responding to 3 messages over a 30 day time). This eventually festered to … #2) Extremely unprofessional behavior when I finally reached him on the phone. NOTE: He never initiated any of the follow-up communication. It was I who initiated all of the communication. #3) After surveying the work and (over time) seeing the extent of dead-wood still on the trees, their workmanship was clearly below average.
Description of Work: 1) Trimmed 4 large trees in front yard 2) Trimmed 3 large trees in back yard 3) Installed 3 cables on large shag-bark hickory to secure against wind storms 4) Trimmed part of neighbor's mulberry tree (portion that had grown onto my property) and neighbor's shrubbery in back (same) 5) Checked couple of trees for health

We had a lightning strike hit a tree and we wanted a real expert to look at it to see what if anything we should do. I found Todd, who is one of the few Certified Arborists in the area and he came out promptly and helped us understand our options and likely outcomes. He also took the time to walk around and provide advice on how to care for our other trees in great detail. Some of the advice he provided may very well save some of our trees that we didn't even know had pests! He found one tree that was rotten than needed to come down and I asked him to give me a quote for trimming some other trees. He came out with his crew the next morning and did an excellent job of doing the work we needed CAREFULLY. They have the right equipment for the job and will not recommend work that you don't need. If you want cheap tree service you might find someone a little cheaper (possibly), but if you value your trees and want someone who is professional, communicates well, will not damage your lawn, cleans up well, and knows how to manage the health of your trees rather than just coming in and hacking at them or topping them for no reason then you really should consider them. Arbor Care also mainatains proper insurance which is important for you as well. I will call them for all future work and I can recommend them without hesitation.
Description of Work: Removed large tree, removed medium sized tree, trimmed several trees around buildings, removed brush, cleaned up. Job was done fast and right with no damage to lawn or property due to their careful work.
