Modern installed the furnace when our home was built, provided service as needed (very little) and installed the replacement in 2009. For a supplier to provided good service over 40+ years identifies the type supplier we all like to deal with,

Three guys showed up, and looked around. They told me that they didn't know how to fix the problem, but charged me $70 for the diagnostic fee. I was outraged that I would be charged for something that they had no idea to fix. This is supposed to be their expertise. They didn't even offer to research the issue or consult with someone else to find the answer. What outraged me even more was that I showed them where the carbon monoxide was originating from. All they did was re-state what I already told them. Terrible customer service. .
Description of Work: I was experiencing a carbon monoxide issue and explained the situation and source to Modern. I called them because they installed the original heating appliances and vent work. I figured if anyone would understand the infrastructure of the building, they would.

I am sorry you were not happy with our service. We have been in business since 1963 and strive for customer satisfaction. We did come out to your house, we took a look at your flue, as far as we could tell the flue was clear and we did make a suggestion that you have your hot water heater checked out by a plumber, as we did not install your water heater. We also informed you that you had a combined flue with the apartment above and when your neighbor had work done the company that did the work removed the hot water heater and furnace from the combined flue and should have informed you. We charge you 59.95 which is our diagnostic fee and we did inform you of the diagnostic fee when you made the appointment. Thank you,

Our 17 year old air conditioner stopped working, and two days after Modern told us we needed a new one, they replaced it. They have done work for us before, and I trust them completely.

MODERN HEATING and COOLING GIVES GREAT SERVICE, AND THEY ARE REALLY PROMPT, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO AN EMERGENCY. ALL OF THE WORKERS ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND SMART.
