I picked a certain color, the saleman wrote down the wrong one and they sent the wrong slabs. They then refused to correct the problem and forced me to take the incorrect counters or they would take them back, keep my money, and not cut and install the ones I picked. Then they offer $200 off to resolve this, I said $300 and they agreed. Got called back and said that they will only do $150 after the deal. The supervisor refused to talk to me and help the situation. DO NOT use them for your counters.

Response from Granite Masters
Thank you for your review. While we produce top notch services and strive to satisfy our customers in every way possible, opinions vary. We will continue to provide exceptional communication and service to our customers. In this instance, the customer chose a specific color, signed off on the color, and signed off on the contract, confirming said selection. After the counters were custom made and installed, per the contract, the customer complained that the installed color was not the color he chose and signed for, on the contract. Customer spoke with the owner and was told that this was the exact color he chose and signed off on, per the contract. Customer denied this fact. Owner told the customer that unfortunately, because this was a custom made, contractually requested countertop, it could not be replaced without a complete re-installation. Customer then went to the salesman to try to convince salesman that he incorrectly wrote down the color. Customer demanded a discount from the salesman in the whereabouts of $400+, to which the salesman told him he had no authority to approve such a discount and would have to obtain approval from the owner. Salesman then went to the owner with for the discount approval, and he was told 1) that no discount was warranted due to a signed contract approving the material color and terms of the contract, and 2) that the maximum discount would be $150, due to issue being no fault of the owner. The salesman relayed the terms to the customer, who reluctantly agreed and then went on to write a negative review, and report this transaction to the BBB, without merit.

The owner came to measure the kitchen and bath for countertops. A few days after the installation my contractor tried to install the sink in the bath vanity, but the opening was too small. Not only did the owner take measurements, I also sent him the specs from the sink manufacturer. When I called granite masters, I was directed to the owner. First he asked why we hadn't checked when they were there. This couldn't be done because the inside of the vanity had to be cut down to accomodate the sink ( off center installation) after the top was on. He then told me my contractor told him what size to make the opening(which he didn't, I was there the day he measured) I let him speak with my contractor and when he told him he had made a mistake that needed to be corrected the owner hung up on him.( This was a heated conversation, my contractor was very angry that he was blamed for something he did not do.) I then called back and he told me I would have to pay to have it fixed. I didn't think I should have to pay and when I nicely said this he also hung up on me. I waited a few hours to cool off and called back my sales person. I told her I was willing to pay although I didn't think I should have to. She told me she would talk to the owner and call back. She never did. We had another company fix it. I have never been treated this unprofessionally, even by a customer and I've worked in customer service for over 30 years! I don't think this person realizes how much business he has lost because of this. I have a coworker who is doing a renovation of a very large kitchen and he was going to use granite masters. My contractor also won't recommend them and neither will I.
Description of Work: We were very happy with the service by the sales person and the installation crew, the product was very nice. The owner of the company needs lessons in customer service.

The job went terrible from start to finish. They were late for both the estimate and the install, not just 10 minutes late..we are talking 40-60 minutes late! When they did the install my designer for the job specifically told them to be extra careful because everything in the bathroom was completely new. They told her "oh no worries, we have been doing this for many years". When they were done installing they came to me and told me they had made a "small" mistake. Ya, right...it was no "small" mistake the guy had gotten acetone all over the brand new wall paper!!! ruined it!!! This wallpaper was imported and cost 4x what their job cost so needless to say they really ended up owing me money in the end. So not only did it delay the whole job but was a nightmare to deal with all the way through. My advise is to stay far...far away from these people and this company!!! There are many other companies out there that will do a fine job when it comes to natural stone fabrication and install. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!!

Dear Member: We are sorry that you felt this way about your transaction with us. However, your contentions are false. With regards to lateness, this is a construction business. Although appointments are created and strictly adhered to, there are times when unforeseeable circumstances prevent timeliness and create a delay. That is why whenever we create appointments with our customers we give time frames in windows, ie. "in between 6:00 - 9:00 AM" versus at "6:00 AM," because we appreciate your time and want to make sure you understand it's not a specific time, but approximate, in case something unexpected or unusual occurs. Moreover even though we also make sure to do our due diligence and accommodate our clients' schedules, it is not always possible due to the nature of this business. With regards to the small mistake, yes, it was a small mistake. An installer tried wiping a drop of acetone and accidentally spread it on the paper that you mentioned. However, this was an accident and as soon as we were notified of the circumstances, we spoke to your designer and damages were calculated at approximately $141.00. In fact, we have records showing that the accident was remedied through reimbursement on December 29, 2009. And lastly, with regards to the accident costing more than the granite job itself, repairing the damages cost $140.88, compared to the $400 job, which we also have within our records. Therefore, if damage was done, it was promptly remedied by our company. We have a good relationship with your designer and continue to work together to provide our services successfully to our customers, which would not be the case if we did not conduct ourselves with professionalism, accuracy, efficiency, and overall satisfactory service.
