 + 0 morewhen the repairman came out we explain that previous retirement and replace a thermostat twice but the problem persisted. I showed him pictures of how a pizza was being burned in the oven when cooked at the correct temperature for the correct amount of time. he tested the other looked at the pictures and said that the oven cannot be repaired and they would let the warranty company know that. The warranty company called me and said the repairman told them that we did not know how to use our stove. several calls the repair company to find out why the misinformation was provided to the warranty company have gone unanswered. even calls to the repairman are not returned.
Description of Work: Our top oven did not work.

 + -1 moreFridge stopped working Friday night before New Year's holiday. Home Warranty Company was useless, so I had to make calls on my own. Read reviews online and was satisfied enough to reach out for help. EXTREMELY GLAD I DID. By day 5 with no fridge and the warranty company not returning my calls, Fix it 1st was able to come to my home the following day and fixed the problem in MINUTES. Even explained how to fix it ourselves next time & advised we could order parts from them. Extremely professional, timely, punctual, NEAT (repair man wore booties to prevent snow from getting inside), informative and very pleasant to deal with- from initial call to final interaction. I've already told people at work about the company!!! Can't thank them enough!!!

 + -1 moreI used the company to repair a gasket on my Samsung refrigerator. Overall, I am pleased with the service. We had a little issue with the part delivery. No fault of Fis It First but of the parts company. Tim, the repair technician came out. He assessed the problem.immediately. Tim went above and beyond by assisting me to get the food out of the freezer because I had just had surgery. He even helped get it downstairs to the other freezer. He was a godsend. He was also very professional and very polite. Stellar technician. Just awesome. Thea, who was my point of contact with the company was was awesome.. I was quite upset about the freezer ordeal but she kept me informed all along the way. She even got me to laugh. She and I communicated so much about the project, I feel like I have a new friend. She was always professional and concerned. I would definitely want to work with both Tim and Thea if I need services again and I would definitely recommend the company to others. Ms. Young

Checked oven, confirmed he had part in his truck, called home base to confirm price before quoting me. Installed new part and cleaned oven while testing it. took less than 45minutes and got more service than expected.

 + -1 moreThree or four times they tried to fix the problem, but it went on coming out. Finally I called the certified dealer and they fixed it. 'Fix It First' put the new parts in but they did not fix the problem.They did not show up when they said they were going to.

 + -1 moreMy experience with them has been very positive over all. On the second call, to fix the refrigerator in my tenant's unit, a technician came out and did the repair. Two days later, my tenant informed me that the issue still persisted, so I called to inform them that the problem had not been corrected. My phone call was promptly returned, and they came out to fix the problem to my satisfaction, at no additional cost, of course. On the last visit to make this repair, I asked if the technician could also check out my front load washing machine. He quickly diagnosed the problem and completed the repair. This is the price reflected in this review. The only category that did not score an A from me was punctuality. I rated this a B because on each call, they did arrive on the later end of the time frame given...or even a bit late. To me this is not a very big deal since I am usually not in a hurry to go anywhere, but it is an area that they could improve a bit. I am very impressed with their service and their commitment to doing excellent work. The technician was not only knowledgable and capable of completing the work well, he also patiently and thoroughly explained the problem and the solutions to me. I have now added their number to my contacts on my phone, and they will certainly be my go-to repair service providers for all of our appliances!

Description of Work: Controller and water shutoff valve on washing machine needed replacing. They diagnosed and gave details on parts needed and what their cost would be and that the shutoff valve was no longer available and where we might search for a replacement. We ended up buying a new washer. They were very upfront and helpful and would definitely consider them for a future repair

 + -1 moreIt was fast and easy for a cheap part which is why I feel it was overpriced. I know a service call ranges from $60-90 just to show up and that cost gets rolled into the repair cost. The part is only a ~$30 part and the work took about 15min. $100-$120 would have been more reasonable. The repairman Tim was very courteous and nice. He was very clean with his work as well. The company was really good as I called the same day in the morning and they called me right back with a time range. Repairman showed up within the time range.

 + -1 moreI called two other providers, one was out of the area they worked on. The other one wouldn't come out because I had a front loader and I live in a condo. Fix It 1st came out the same day.The problem was that water was coming out under the washer. I washed clothes a couple of days before, that's when I noticed the problem. Nothing was wrong with my washer other than the water was still in the rubber part of the door. Timothy was very professional. I'm extremely happy that I didn't have to pay a lot of money for the repair.The service charge was reasonable. I will call them in the future for any repairs I need.

 + -1 moreI made an appointment with Fix It 1st Appliance Repair to fix two refrigerators (my family owns an 11 unit apartment building). They said they would be here between 8 and 10 am today. I told them I had a doctor's appointment and would have to leave no later than 12:15pm. I am a senior citizen; getting up early in the morning isn't easy for me, but I went to bed an hour early and pushed myself to be up and ready by 8am. At 10am I called to find out where they were and had to leave a message. At approximately 10:20 someone called me back and said the technician was and quot;enrouteand quot; to my home. At 10:45 am my plumber arrived and said the technician was sitting out in front, talking on the phone. I don't know how long he had been there. At 11:20 someone called and said he was on my porch. By that time, there wasn't time to complete the work before I had to leave, so I told them it was too late. If they had just communicated. If someone had called at 8am and said they wouldn't be there until 10...or 11... or whatever. They certainly lost a lot of business here. I'll never call them again.

Description of Work: Well my oven was not heating properly, actually it was almost 100 degrees off. So I called for service. The Tech came out, assessed the problems and did not have the right parts to complete the job, so he put in the paper work for what was needed, the company called me and gave me a price for the total job. There was a 59.99 service fee for coming out, however it was to be applied to the final cost. When the office called me they indicated the price and then indicated that the price minus the 59.99 which was 29.99 well this was the price I was quoted. There was a small discrepancy with the final total, however, the tech did not carry on about it and just received the amount which I was quoted. Despite the small issue, the work that was done was performed properly, (because my oven works now, heating to the correct temp) the tech was professional and knowledgeable, each time he came out. I will certainly call for more services on any of my appliance that's deemed necessary. I don't quite remember the techs name at this time, I don't have the service form in my hand, but he was a Man of God, I do know that. My recommendation to the company is to make sure that the very nice person quoting the price, quotes the correct price and repeat it as well as having the customer repeat it to avoid any and all misunderstanding and miscommunications. Highly recommend!

Description of Work: I called for a repair on the dryer at our tenant occupied condo at approximately 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily, they had an immediate opening and by 4:45pm, the dryer was repaired for a very reasonable price. While I wasn't expecting such immediate service, I am beyond impressed and will definitely use their repair services again! Also, all work comes with a 90 day warranty. Thanks for the quick and excellent work!

Technician diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes and provided an estimate which was reasonable. Machine was fixed and I completed my laundry that evening. The technician, Tim was professional, knowledgeable and fast.
Description of Work: Replaced the agitator pins and spin switch. The washing machine works fine now.

Description of Work: I called my warranty company, informed them of my oven failure. They gave me fix it 1st to contact for service along with a claim number. I contacted fix it 1st they gave me an appointment for the next day. That was a plus! On yesterday when the technician came he was professional & nice. I showed him where the stove was. He got down on the floor, pulled out the little pan thing in the oven and was doing something in the oven. 5 minutes later he said your all set. We was so happy. Now we can use our oven.
