About us

Alsip Home & Nursery has the LARGEST & Most Comprehensive Garden Centers in Northwest Indiana and Northeast Illinois as well as a full Pet Department, and Outdoor Living Department Founded in 1969 as a premier garden center in Frankfort, IL, Alsip Home & Nursery has evolved into a specialty retailer with a prestigious reputation in the market and is a tradition to many loyal customers. Today, we are still a complete garden center. We also carry a wide selection of patio furniture, fountains & statuary, ponds, grills, pets and supplies, wild bird feed/feeders, specialty toys, garden décor, and seasonal holiday. In addition, we have a silk floral department that rivals most wholesalers with a large staff of professional designers to fulfill your needs for that perfect accent that puts the finishing touches to your home. Our 10-acre facility in Frankfort is located approximately 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. In 1994 we opened a second location in St. John, IN on a 17-acre site, located approximately 30 miles southeast of downtown Chicago. In 2008 we purchased a wholesale greenhouse growing operation in Kingsbury, Indiana and re-opened it under the name Kingsbury Acres Greenhouse. Since that time we have been growing most of our own flowers, hanging baskets and vegetable plants providing our customers with even more locally sourced products. In 2010, we opened the first of a series of satellite garden centers in grocery store parking lots.Our goal is to open up more temporary satellite locations each spring season. All of our locations are enjoying a growing customer base that shows no signs of slowing down. We continue to build our repeat customer base by treating everybody like a friend and also constantly bringing in new, unique, quality merchandise that is hard to find anywhere else. We have products to please the whole family all year round, hence our slogan – “The Best of Every Season”.

Services we offer

Alsip Nursery is your one stop shop for green goods and can offer you the following services: Landscape Design, Tree Planting, Fountain Installation, and delivery of our landscaping supplies such a mulch, stone, soil, firewood and more. Alsip also offers fountain installation and delivery. Alsip Nursery is also a one stop shop for Pets and Pet Supplies. We offer quality custom cuts 7 days a week in our Groomingdales Pet Salon and will soon have a full service animal clinic.

Services we don't offer

While Alsip Nursery does do small plant jobs like tree planting, we do not perform large scale landscaping projects. Alsip Nursery works closely with NWILA, North West Indiana Landscapers Association and can pair you with the landscaper that will work for you.

Great. Staff is friendly, easy to schedule, and took very good care of my "babies"
Description of Work: Grooming for both a 15lb dog and a 40lb dog. The smaller dog got clipped and a blueberry facial (smells great) and the larger dog was groomed with a de-shedding treatment.
