After signing contract, over a week passed and no one called us after they got our down payment. I had to call cust. service and request they put me on schedule. Four weeks later, first crew is sent out. They replaced the rotten sill plate but left the rotten band board and inserted small blocks instead between the joist and screwed them to the rotten wood! Then they attached some new sisters joist, but they screwed them into the rotten joists instead of removing the rot first! I called and complained, after some run around, they sent out 2nd crew. 2nd crew said they were only told to fix the blocks and NOT replace the rotten band board. We spoke with our sales rep. and the owners son. They admitted they DONT replace rotten wood. They only do blocking. If my husband hadn't of gone down in the crawl space we would have never known they did not do all the work as the contract stated. Needless to say, I fired them and they had to refund us back some money. I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone! If you go ahead and do use them, be sure to inspect all their work after they are done BEFORE paying them. Will upload pictures.

Response from Acculevel Inc
First, we certainly apologize that a customer of ours is dissatisfied with the work. We have tried numerous times to contact the [Member Name Removed]' to discuss the situation. While we understand their dissatisfaction with the process and that there were some communication problems, we did feel that the situation was in a satisfactory place. As a company, we always strive to meet or exceed our client's expectations and we always regret when this is not accomplished. We acknowledge that there was some miscommunication on this particular project and we feel like we have learned from this experience in many areas and we always appreciate feedback from our clients to help make us better as a company. In this particular situation, we think that there are some facts that are important to note. Because the client was not satisfied, we did not charge them for the work that is complained about in this review. We only charged the client $788 and this amount was for the work that was completed according to their satisfaction. Secondly all the work that is noted as unsatisfactory in this review, the materials and labor was completed at absolutely no charge and yet this free work is the basis for this review. The price was reduced from $3,000 to $788, and the original installed materials were left in place. Since this review was posted we have tried to reach the client through multiple avenues and they have not responded to us. It would be our goal to resolve this issue even though we can't exactly see what the issue is since the customer was refunded the amount in question and we thought we have reached a satisfactory conclusion with our customer.

The inspector found an issue in my crawlspace that he told me I could easily fix. No charge for the inspection. I would not have thought to do the kind of inspection that he did. Very honest report. You have to respect that kind of integrity.

The repairs were completed in the summer of 2014. In 2016 I put the house up for sale. Cooper spent quite a bit of time with my buyer and her representatives to explain the work done, including making one trip to the house and providing a demonstration. For a company to go above and beyond 2 years after the work was done is exceptional service.

Acculevel showed up on time. They worked 12 hours per day for 2 days and completed the mechanical work as contracted and returned for 4 hours another day to complete the sealing. The worker's were polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. The work, including cleanup, was completed professionally. I am very satisfied with the work and am confident the work will last the life of the home.

Excellent customer service by phone. But... please read it all! Good on site explanation of the process involved, with some omissions. (Those of us who do not do this work for a living do not know everything to ask!) A hole is drilled into the concrete slab so a nozzle can be inserted and their material can be pumped under the slab, which will raise it to the proper level. The hole is about the size of your pinky. The tech who is doing the job will then add a little sand to conceal this small hole as much as possible. THIS IS TRUE. What is also true: The material pumped under the slab has a very sticky nature and the overspray sticks to the area around the pinky hole. This allows the sand to stick to the surface around the hole leaving a spot about the size of your palm. We're 'assuming' this will wear away in time. It is also true the slab being corrected can crack when it's being raised. It is also true the drill will pierce the concrete and can sever a wire under your sidewalk. Yes... it did. This knocked an electric post lantern out of service in our front yard. Certainly not life threatening, but c'mon. Once we had figured out what happened, I contacted Acculevel and was 'well treated' in the sense I was given the impression Acculevel would make it right. I had a professional electrician (all A's on Angie's List) inspect the situation and I was given a "repair" quote and a "perfection" quote. The repair quote was $260 and would restore the light to the way the builder had installed it. The perfection quote was around $900 and would get the electric line buried deeper and placed in conduit, rather than simple UF cable. I asked Acculevel to pay for the repair, and told them I would most likely pay the electrician to do the perfection version. Acculevel determined they should pay half of the repair quote. I do not know their formula for calculating how much of the severed electric line was my fault, but that's what they came up with. You decide. I also asked Acculevel why they did not have the area marked prior to the work. (Our work involved drilling through the slabs... the lantern was right next to the sidewalk... and our work involved digging a trench to extend a downspout further into our yard and under the sidewalk. So... there's a fair amount of digging involved in this job and plenty of reason to call before you dig. 811) Acculevel's response was: 'We don't do that.' So the "Slab-Jack" work they did was done well. But I can't give them an A because of the damage done. They were very responsive to me from the quoting stage all the way through the final disappointment. So, they get an A for that. I gave them a C for professionalism because C is average. I thought I was working with an above average company but I don't feel they handled the problems professionally. I feel the right thing to do would have been to pay the entire repair amount of $260 without protest. I feel they should always call 811 to have an area marked when they will be digging OR drilling. (It's free! And, it would have saved me $900.) IF YOU ARE WORKING WITH ACCULEVEL (OR ANY LANDSCAPER OR CONTRACTOR WHO IS GOING TO BE DIGGING OR DRILLING ON YOUR PROPERTY) ASK THEM IF THEY WILL HAVE YOUR PROPERTY MARKED IN ADVANCE OF THE JOB. IF THEY SAY NO, EITHER FIND ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER OR CALL 811 YOURSELF! It's just common sense! I actually WOULD hire Acculevel again, and I recommend them! BUT - ASK EVERY QUESTION YOU CAN THINK OF and BEWARE that somehow severed electrical lines... TV cables... invisible fences... gas lines... and more, are NOT their fault. To Acculevel: I would seriously recommend putting the 811 call into your standard procedure. It would give you a REAL disclaimer to stand on should a line be damaged and was NOT marked. Also - place some sort of protector sheet on the slab (maybe with a stick back) BEFORE you drill through it. The protector sheet will catch most of the overspray and leave a neater look behind. Rather than a sloppy finish.

From sales to installation, everyone was great. I chose Acculevel over 2 other companies that gave me quotes. The installers were very careful and neat. The work was excellent and the follow up was timely. They came back out to correct some minor issues. While they were there, they went above and beyond what they were responsible to do and I was very impressed with the guys professionalism and desire to make the customer happy. Thank you Luis and Rubin. Every guy that came out spoke very highly of the owners and said working there feels like they are a family. I highly recommend using Acculevel. No problems at all. I was very happy with the work that was done to help steady our house. It could have gone years more without the job, but the damage that could have been done in those years might have been way more expensive. The cost was just right for the job. The bid process was painless, and we would definitely do business with Acculevel again if necessary. Great JOB.
Description of Work: The work was done by two professionals that clearly knew what they were doing. The finished (what seemed to me) a very hard job in about 3 hours. They were courteous and explained what they were doing (not that I had any idea). The end result is a guarantee of 20 years for an old 1890 house that deserved the extra care to keep her standing and looking good.

Todd came out to look at our tri-level home which had water coming into basement from crawl space during heavy rains. He told me why water had started coming in after years of a dry basement and explained a solution involving a new sump pump pit and geo-channels to correct the problem. Jorge and Armando, the technicians, arrived when expected. They were very polite and after I showed them the opening to the crawl space they immediately put down drop clothes to protect my floors. They went straight to work digging and installing a new sump pump pit with a new sump pump, backup pump and battery backup. They consulted with me on placement of the pit and where I wanted the water to drain. They then installed a geo channel to channel water that had come in under the crawl space to the new pit. They completely cleaned up after the job. Both technicians were friendly, professional and exceptionally accepting of my puppy who, being a puppy, could be annoying. I am very happy with the procedures and look forward to a dry basement this year.

They came, looked at it and said they'd have to go back and talk to their engineers to see how they could do the job and I never heard from them again. My interaction with them was fine. The guy seemed to know what he was talking about. But, wasn't sure how they would do the job and had to go back and talk to his engineers and I never heard from him again. It was pretty much just a cursory inspection, not very detailed. A little bit of follow-up would be great.

We’re sorry to hear about your negative experience with Acculevel. There seems to have been significant miscommunication, as we have records of multiple and timely attempts at clearly communicating the parameters of our work. The final attempt was a voicemail left for the client explaining that we indeed did not have a solution to your home's problem. Please let us know if there are any further questions we can answer, preferably by email, to avoid the previous miscommunication issues via telephone, and in-person visits.

I was told they would be here between 8 a.m and 8:30 a.m. They were right on time. They first had to remove buses before they started which they had told me might have to be removed. One of the gentlemen had to come inside to check the craw space to find the water line. They installed 3 helical piers to stabilize the right side of the house which took 7 hours. When they left they took the bushes and they filled in all the cracks in the brick.

I was contacted promptly and given the price and what needed to be done. The piers were installed first and the crew was on time and worked quickly. The injection was done a few days later. Nolan did a thorough, professional evaluation of our entire foundation and identified the one problem which was causing several cracks. He quoted a very reasonable price compared to what I feared given the cracks that raised my initial concern. I liked that it is a well-established family business. The work was done by Raul and Miguel who were both very friendly and arrived on schedule on the appointed date. They did excellent work and left the area better than we expected, protecting and moving plants as needed. Based on our job I would recommend Acculevel without hesitation.

All went well. It is amazing how they level the patio by drilling into the concrete and then pumping hot poly...something into it. They also had to dig (by hand) a trench from the water down-spout on the house under a sidewalk and through part of the yard. They did everything exactly as was described by Nolan, the estimator. Concrete driveway leveling and crack repair work was performed to our satisfaction, by a 2 man crew, who arrived promptly at 8 am and completed the repairs in less than 4 hours. The work was expertly done. Almost half of the driveway had settled with resultant cracks and joint movement, caused by water intrusion into the substrate below the slab. The slab has now been raised back up to level by drilling small holes in the slab and filling below with light weight dense foam, pressure injected. Upon completion of the leveling process, all the crack joints were filled with sand cement topped off with a flowable epoxy, thus sealing the joints. Observing the work as it was done, I was impressed by the skill level shown and, especially, the judgement of how much injection can be done without causing further cracking to occur due to over filling, or uneven filling. It is important for potential customers to know that this is repair work. The intent is to make the driveway completely functional and safe. The evidence of it being repaired will be obvious but should, when finished properly, be acceptable. The only alternative, complete demolition, sub slab consolidation and new slab construction, would probably cost at least ten times as much and much longer to complete. The two men worked diligently, showed a high level of competence and were very courteous at all times. We were very impressed and would, following this experience, strongly recommend Acculevel, Inc. Steve was our contact and was kind of like the subcontractor. He came in through our crawlspace with an iPad, showed us all the damages and what it would look like after we got it all done. It was not cheap. It was just really good because we were seeing cracks in our walls and it just seemed like our house was sinking. They did a good job and it has lasted. They used quite a bit of technology. We live in a swamp and they made our property dry under there. This spring my yard has practically ponded itself and it keeps it underneath that encapsulation and keeps it dry.
Description of Work: They jacked up the house, jacked up the chimney. They put jack supports underneath the chimney, which were pilings to jack it up. They strengthened under the house with supports and then totally encapsulated the crawlspace. They put in a powerful sump pump and a dehumidifier.

I initially sought the help of a quality structural engineer to consult regarding this project. I contacted three providers that he recommended. Those companies were Americrawl, Indiana Foundation, and Acculevel. Tony Haight, of Acculevel was a true professional in every aspect of the Proposal/Contract process. He was timely, considerate, informative and honest in all regards. The estimates ranged greatly in both scope and cost. Tony's Acculevel quote was not the cheapest or the most expensive. It addressed all of the basement issues in a logical, well explained and illustrated fashion. The actual job was completed to our satisfaction in a four day period. The crew was incredible. They arrived when they said they would. They minimized mess and the communicated effectively. We are very happy with the completed work. For the first time in many years we have a dry and functional basement. I have been a Angie's List member for many years and can recommend Tony Haight and Acculevel for any foundation issue!
