I received a free inspection of foundation. Problems was spoken about and suggestions was given, however, Lance regretted to inform me that Acculevel wasn't able to fix my issues because of complications of craw space being confined. He admited that his company had same issues in past that has prevented them from performing their services. I asked Lance if they hire subcontractors for that. He suggested that I look for a closer company in area that would be willing to take on the challenge. So my burden is still mine and I'm left still in need of help!

Workmen were on time, friendly and professional. Explained and took pictures of their work and answered all my questions and concerns fully. Work was completed in a timely fashion and fully cleaned up. Window well had to be dug out to allow space for the I beam to be taken under house. It was restored and backfilled properly. Company rep. with whom I worked to plan the project was excellent. He also was on time for appointment, took pictures of crawl space to show me and answered all my questions.

The product and the process sounded great initially. The primary contact, Paul, was very helpful in explaining options and walking us through the steps involved. We had some outside features that we didn't want dug up in the process (a pergola and steps) and the crew did their best to work around these items without disturbing them. Though the job was completed in a timely manner, I can't say that it was done to my satisfaction. I expected some water to continue coming into the basement as the ground settled, but it's a year later and we still have MORE water coming in than before the wall was "fixed." I wish in the quoting process, they would have talked about options such as a external drainage system...that would have been the perfect time to install a french drain, but I didn't know about that option at the time and long term drainage issues were not discussed. I still literally have to put towels down after every storm. To top it off, we now have a large scale mold problem in the basement that will cost us additional thousands to remediate. I am not saying this is directly linked to AccuLevel's repair job, but again, when you pay 8000 to have a wall fixed, you don't really want to see more water in your basement than you did before the money was spent. Moisture and mold are friends and, sadly, our basement is no exception. As another customer stated, the company seemed to cut some corners on waterproofing...what they said they would do to make sure moisture didn't return to the site, doesn't seem to have been done, or if so, not done properly. I can't say I am real happy about the state of the interior basement wall either. The company's before and after pictures on their website are sure not reflective of what I see at my house. Finally, I tried calling the company a few times after the job was done to seek further assistance about the water issue. When I could get a hold of someone, I was told "it was just the ground settling." I finally gave up on the notion that anything else would be done by AccuLevel to solve the problem, so I gave up. After we get the mold remediated, we are either moving (!) or we our on to the next project of waterproofing and installing proper exterior drainage. ** UPDATE**: After my original posting on Angie's List (see above), Acculevel called me within 2 days to find out how they could rectify the situation. Speaks well to the power of Angie's List for those companies that really care about their ratings and customer satisfaction. The company was willing to install an interior perimeter basement drain on the wall they originally repaired and a sump pump for cost. I thought that was a very fair deal and I appreciated their quick response to my concerns. I inquired about the cost to do the whole basement, since we would already be tearing up a portion of the basement. We ended up working out a very reasonable deal (not for cost, but still some discount). The work men arrived on time every day and the work was completed in the time frame discussed. I don't yet know how the system will work, but I sure feel more confident. I do wish that the wall lining, which allows any moisture in the wall to be directed into the drain, had been installed more evenly. Some portions are up really high on the wall while others are barely above the floor. More a cosmetic complaint than anything. The work crew did a nice job of cleaning up.

We recently purchased a 100 year old home in Irvington and needed a few piers installed underneath our chimney, where the foundation was sinking. The foundation repairs were paid for by the sellers of our new home, and they made a check out to Acculevel at the closing of our house. We had a couple minor hiccups with the office, as they initially had said we STILL needed to give them a deposit even though the amount was paid in full already. Once we explained that we had a check in full, they were very effective with scheduling a time to have a two man crew come out and install the necessary piers. Everything went incredibly smooth. They inspected the foundation in our crawlspace to see if any work needed to be done on the inside as well. They had to dig up and replant a bush on the side of our house, and unfortunately that plant died about a month later. That wasn't a deal breaker for us though. The foundation of our home is way more important than any plant in our yard. There was a 25 year warranty with the piers, so hopefully it will prove to withstand the test of time! I was incredibly pleased with the service, communication and thoroughness of the job.

Chose a different outfit to do the work

I have had a good and positive experience with them and didn’t have any problem. They did a good job and communicated well as to what was going on. They guarantee their work. They put everything back just like the way it was as they had to rip off the concrete and bushes. They even replanted our bushes.

Everything was an A+. We have a basement but instead of a walk-out basement, we have a walk-out pit area in our basement. So evidently, the walls were poured to be basement walls instead of a retaining wall. I am not an engineer so I don't know but we did have an engineering company come out and do a study and stuff and that's what they determined and so Acculevel came out and installed 6 support braces that they drilled into through the walls and stuck these braces into the ground at an angle like some of them are 13 ft deep. And these supports that they installed are guaranteed for life and it's supposed to prevent our walls for ever caving in. And we hope that it will work.

They arrived on time for the inital appointment and gave me a proposal, answered my questions and explained the proceedure. On the day the work was scheduled they were on time and preformed the job with out leaving a mess. I was very please with the whole job and I thought the price was reasonable. At another time I had called Acculevel out to look at my foundation at another property and he told me there was nothing that was needed. It is a good contractor who will come out look at situation and say "you don't have a problem."

Kyle contacted me the morning of our appointment to let me know that they had a cancellation and could come earlier if it was convenient for me. It was so he arrived about 4 hours earlier which was great. Kyle asked what my concerns were then he inspected the house, inside and out, including the basement. As I pointed out things that I was concerned about, he explained to me why these things were occurring. Kyle was very patient and professionally answering all my questions. He used an electronic level on the exterior of our house after he visually inspected it. In the end, he said our foundation was completely level. He explained to me why I was seeing what I was seeing (cracks n some walls - due to drywall seam tape and normal house aging). Our foundation was fine and he didn't try to sell me any services that we didn't need! Also, Kyle also gave me some free advice about finishing our basement if there comes a time when we decide to do that.

The overall experience was very pleasant. I had two other companies bid for the job. The range of suggested fixes and the related cost was quite astounding. So I hired a structural engineer to evaluate the situation. His advice was much more sober. He suggested that I just need to install two piers to support the chimney. The other companies had been so far off that I decided to look at another company. I called Acculevel. The proposal was put together by a Steve Surette. He had started out with 3 piers, but he was fine with the structural engineer's evaluation. Considering how stressful the situation had become I was heartened by Steve's responsiveness and openness. Compared to the other two companies his proposal was quite competitive too. While we didn't hire a lawyer to go over the lifetime warranty, it seemed more clear and specific in comparison to the other two companies. We decided to go with Acculevel. The job went quite smoothly. Afterwards Steve confirmed that the structural engineer's evaluation had been correct and that the chimney was adequately supported. I waited a whole year to put in this review. So far the fix seems to be fine.

I was very pleased with the thoroughness of the original estimate, the degree to which the process was carefully explained in advance, and then, I was pleased with the professionalism and thoroughness of the work that was performed. Overall, this was a good experience for work that I hated to have done.... Very good.

Acculevel made it right for us in the long run.

When I called Acculevel, I thought maybe they didn't come to where I live, but the woman on the phone said they did- be sure to call them to see if they come to your area, because they serve a wider area than the Angie's List description indicated. The woman I spoke with was super pleasant. I explained the problem and asked if she thought I might have a foundation issue. She talked me through some things that might be causing the cracks, but said they'd be happy to come out and take a look and provide an estimate if we needed the work, and she scheduled me for an appointment the following week. Paul called to confirm and showed up on time. My husband was there and I was not, but according to my husband, Paul walked through the house with my husband, went into the crawlspace and checked the basement and said we didn't have a problem at all. He gave my husband some tips about solving the cracking problem and did discover some rotting boards under the back door that would be easily replaced. It is extremely rare to have someone come over to give you an estimate, only to tell you that they don't need to do any work, and that tells me that Paul is an honest person and it makes me thing that Acculevel is a reputable company. If I ever do need foundation repair, masonry work, or concrete work done, I'll definitely call them first. It's always nice to know when you can count on someone, and I think I'd feel pretty confident counting on them.

We had severe water issues and bowing walls in our 1940's home basement. We called Acculevel, they came out not too long after we had called them to give us an estimate. They let us know it would be a month or so out and we were ok with that. They performed all the work that was in estimate. After the work was completed we had a small issue but true to their word they came back and fixed the problem. All in all they did a good job and we would recommend them highly.

First estimate visit was great. Gave them a deposit. Changed my mind after salesman left and invoked the three day rule with no problem or argument on their side. Later we chose to go ahead and have them do the job. When the day for the work came two workers arrived who were hard working and friendly. The work was completed as described by the salesman. I was dissatisfied with the enlargement of the crawl space entry well. The salesman arranged for workers to come back and redo the work with an upgraded well housing at no additional cost. I was pleased that they were very willing to correct an error in a pleasant and prompt manner. I would use them again for any further problems in the future.

Went well, the workers were very nice and the office called to make sure we were "on" for the appointment.

After a home inspection on my potential first home turned up some concerns, I contacted Acculevel to come out and check out the foundation to see if there were any repairs that would need to be done to it based on a crack above a 2nd story bedroom door. Steve Surrette came out and met with me and my realtor and walked through the property, checking out the entire foundation. In the end, the foundation turned out to be just fine, which was good news for me. Even though the trip didn't create any business for Steve, I would certainly call Acculevel again and recommend them to all my friends who have any questions about foundations/basements. I was amazed that nothing was pushed on me and that I got an honest assessment of my potential first home!

They arrived at the scheduled time, dug around the foundation, installed the piers, and cleaned up the area. They worked efficiently and completed the job exactly as they indicated in their estimate.

Mr. Steve Surette, from Acculevel, came by the house today and performed a thorough inspection of the brick as well as the foundation. Discussing the situation with Mr. Surette was a wonderful experience. He described, in detail, everything that he was doing and his observations and conclusions. Somehow he was able to describe the situation in a manner that even I, with no experience in this area, was able to understand. Steve arrived on time, was incredibly professional, helpful and very pleasant. Without hesitation, I would absolutely recommend Steve Surette and Acculevel to anyone needing foundation repair or service.

The salesperson came out and looked at our situation. We have had water in our basement after extended rainfalls, and decided to have it looked at. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and suggest that we try a few remedies before we put a under slab drainage system in. We implemented several of those suggestions over the next few months, but continued to have water in the basement. We called them and another company again. The same Acculevel salesperson came out and gave us a quote for the system. He suggested only enough to fix the problem, and asked about exterior drainage, stating the pipe may be clogged or collapsed. After his suggestion I investigated that possibility and found our exterior drainage pipe buried in the Indiana clay. After digging it up and ensuring that there is free flow of drainage we have not had a problem with our basement since. His suggestion saved us a lot of money and headache. This company priced their system $4000 less than the other company that came out here. The salesperson was also very familiar with his product, and if we would ever need any foundation work or waterproofing done, we would call them.

My daughter just had this company come to her house to advise on the cracks in her basement foundation and I was not able to be there when the gentleman came and so I was a little concerned that they would try and take advantage of a young inexperienced homeowner. I just got off the phone with her and I was BLOWN AWAY how impressed she was with his advice and his explanations.I again, was not there but he really did explain everything to her and said he would not do anything...just monitor!!! Gentleman's name is Steve Surette! My daughter said he explained it so that she could understand and she thinks she wants to be an engineer now...just kidding...well maybe not? She is a educator by trade and this gentleman really did help to educate her! Thank you, thank you, AND thank you again... Mr.Surette!!! When and if the time ever comes that we or anyone in our family needs foundation repair...we will call Acculevel!!!
