When our parents passed away we were left with a 1970's-built and decorated beachfront home. To get the best resale value, we decided to have the mod wallpaper removed and repaint the whole interior and exterior in neutral beachy colors. We contacted 3 local painters, but only A&L did not shy away from the wallpaper. They offered to do it for time and materials at a reasonable rate. It was very hard messy work, but the craftsmanship and end result was first class. Two years later there is still no evidence that wallpaper had ever been used. After the wallpaper was all down, all the painting was very straight-forward normal work based on a normal and quite competitive quote. The craftsmanship was equally as good as the wallpaper removal. All walls, ceilings, and painted architectural features are perfect. After some other remodeling work was done in the house, touch-up work was needed, and A&L did that perfectly as well. A&L is a small family of hard-working skilled painters. What they lack in professional appearance, they make up for in quality, execution, and customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone needing interior or exterior painting. Do not be surprised, however, if they refuse wallpaper removal work. They may have had enough of that. Their work area targets Michigan City, but extends to New Buffalo, MI, and LaPorte, Chesterton, and Valparaiso, IN.
