Jeff Starn came across initially as a "professional" and assured us that there would be some challenges with the job that we hired him for, but all and all he would be able to complete the job that he was hired for. Mr. Starn was extremely difficult to work with and was condescending in his attitude. He wouldn't show up on the job site when he said he was going to. The system that he set up was completely inadequate to heat the home. Our washing machine froze and cracked in the laundry room. Mr. Starn stated that it isn't possible to set up a heating system in a home, in extreme weather conditions, that this wouldn't happen. Mr. Starn set up the majority of the heat to go upstairs into two bedrooms which we told him we didn't want him to. The bedrooms will not be used 97% of the time - only when guests were present (and also heat rises, dah). We asked Mr. Starn to install some type of closure to the duct system so that all the heat wasn't going upstairs. Only after our washer froze did he come in to install this "closure" which is now located in the basement and difficult to maneuver. The duct work was installed improperly to both the master bathroom and the kitchen which were both areas identified as problem areas that needed heat to ensure that water lines didn't freeze. Mr. Starn completely blew this off and stated that he makes no guarantees to the heating systems that he installs that freezing water lines is something that can't be prevented. I highly REGRET that we hired this contractor. He initially, as I stated, came across as professional - which completely reversed as the process of installation began and payment had been made. We have a "substandard" system installed in our home which we always have to worry about lines freezing. Considering the original agreements made and what our "requests" were in this system, and Jeff Starns working attitude, I would never recommend this contractor to anyone else.
