It went well. I handled my own plumbing and my own electrician but they handled the rest of it. I chose them because they were a local company and I knew the money would stay completely local and that it wasn’t a big name company. We are contemplating on using them again for bathroom remodeling.
Description of Work: I used Roanoke Woodworking for kitchen remodeling. They did a complete gut of my kitchen and countertop and replacement.

My wife and I went to the showroom to talk specifics about the job and look at samples. The sales lady came to our home to measure the job before giving us a bid via email. The email listed options and prices for each. They provided larger samples of the countertops we were considering to give us a better idea of how the full job would look. After deciding on which countertop we wanted, we signed the contract and gave them a reasonable downpayment. We were told it would be 3 weeks or so before all the items were in and they'd be ready to do the job.The owner called and came over to measure for the pullouts so they could prebuild the supports. I could remove the old countertop or pay them $250 to do so, so I did the removal with the help of a friend. The sink and faucet removal and replacement were also up to me to do or subcontract, which was fine. About 4 weeks later, I get a call at 8 am and they said they have all in hand and wanted to come that day. I hadn't removed the sink or countertops yet and they said they'd help me. I declined the offer, we just weren't in a position to scramble like that and had plans for the day. They said it might be two weeks before they could get back to me, they were so booked up. About two hours later, the owner called back and said he'd moved some jobs around and how about Tuesday? (this was Thursday) I said that would be fine. So Tuesday comes and we're all ready, the countertops are loose and just need to be taken out in the garage as they were too heavy for me. They hauled them into the garage and even cut them down for me so my son can use the remnants for a workbench. They put the new countertops on and lo and behold, the backsplashes on the new countertops were shorter than the old ones by about an inch. Surprise! I debated having them taken back and replaced or refinishing the walls and hoping I could match the paint. After discussion with the owner, he elected to have his painter/drywaller come to fix the wallboard so I could paint it, on his dime. And by the way, we don't have the pullouts, the company sent the wrong order. So the countertops were installed but one left loose for the painter, and we waited for the painter to call and the pullouts to be shipped. After two painter visits, a paint match and paint session, and several times of expecting the pullouts to come and they didn't, the job was finally finished. I had expressed to the sales lady that all trim for the breakfast bar that was water damaged was to be replaced. One piece was reused, but corrected the following visit after I complained. The corner piece was supposed to cover both pieces of laminate, but didn't quite so another piece was added, which didn't look as nice. When it was all done, it looks quite nice and operates as expected. We used Roanoke Woodworking because they originally installed our kitchen when the house was built, and I wanted to match whatever we could without replacing. Several glitches I felt could have been avoided, but overall a nice job.
Description of Work: Installed new countertops, backing to the breakfast bar, and converted lower cabinets to full-width pullouts or pullouts and vertical dividers.

Tearout of existing cabinets went well, and installation of new cabinets went well. One cabinet damaged in shipping, wasn't their fault, manufacture replaced that cabinet and they reinstalled quickly. One of my request was to keep the same footprint of cabinets so I didn't have to re-tile the kitchen, and it worked out well. Only a couple of spots required some quarter round to cover things up. Service, communication, and follow up went very well. Great selection and customer service. I would definitely use them again, and probably will for bathroom remodels in the near future.

They did not do the actual granite installation, but they removed the old countertop and made sure that we were happy with the installation of the new countertop. Their advice was extremely helpful and they were great to work with.
Description of Work: Roanoke Woodworking assisted us with upgrades to our kitchen. They advised us on different types of countertop materials and worked with us as we selected the granite for our kitchen upgrade, putting us in touch with a supplier they recommended.

Roanoke Woodworking replaced our kitchen laminate with beautiful quartz. I loved the owners, who work in the showroom - they were very helpful and informative. I did a lot of shopping around, including the big box stores, before I selected Roanoke Woodworking. I selected them because the color I wanted was not available at the big stores, and because I wanted to support a local business. Their prices, which are slightly higher than at Lowes (and only because Lowe's had some colors on sale at the time), were well worth it because of the great service and also because we were able to receive a very high quality sink with the purchase (a much better sink than the big stores give away). FInancially, I think we actually came out even by going with Roanoke Woodworking - it just depends on the colors/options you choose. The men who did the install worked quickly - there was a slight problem because the hole they had cut for the stovetop was too small - they were able to enlarge it here at our house - so not a big deal! They did a beautiful job. No complaints. We would definitely go to them again!

It was a wonderful experience. They are fairly priced. They are available all the time and when they say they are going to do something they do it. I didn't feel like I had to follow up woth them. I like that they are a well-established family owned business.

This experience went very smoothly. Roanoke sent a man to give an estimate and look at the cabinet. When we were ready to have the work done they came out, removed the cabinet and told me they would return it in a day or two. Just as stated they returned two days later and put the cabinet in place. It looks perfect. No one would know that the cabinet had been cut down to enable us to have a taller frig. The stain is perfect. The cabinet looks perfect.

They are fairly small company, but they do quality work. They have even done work for other people I know. I get personalized service from them. So, I know that they will be around to look after the job. They are very friendly. Their prices are very competitive; they may be less expensive than few other companies. I’ll definitely use their services in the future.
Description of Work: I have used Roanoke Woodworking for countertops, eight months ago. They took out the old countertops and replaced them with new ones.
