+ -1 moreMidwest Roofing replaced the roof on our house at the farm 16 months ago. I originally submitted a report and gave the company an "A" rating. This past winter we had a few shingles that were blown off the roof by high winds. We repeatedly tried to contact Midwest Roofing to come and repair the roof and was not able to contact them. We even went to their office in Richmond and could not find anyone. We had to hire a different roofing company to repair the missing shingles.
Description of Work: Tear off of old roofing shingles and reroofing with new shingles.

+ -1 moreIt was amazing to see all the guys working together to get my roof done over the weekend due to being open monday throug friday and in the child care bussines you are not permited to having construction crews working in the facility during hours of operation. thay also made sure there was no debre, nails or material left behind and cause injury to the children.
Description of Work: They met with my insurance company and got me a replacement roof for just my deductable saving me $20,000 from coming out of my pocket from some storm damage we had last sommer.

+ -1 moreRepresentative arrived promptly as scheduled . I explained that my roof was leaking, that I needed an estimate, and I was getting several. Soon, a second person arrived. Both people got up on my roof and were pointing out damaged areas for about 15 min. After getting off of my roof, and talking with these people, they admitted that the 2 of them had about 4 years experience between the 2 of them. They explained that they were confident that they could secure a complete new roof at no cost to me, and how they had accomplished the same thing for others in my neighborhood. They asked if I had insurance, and they felt that my insurance should pay for the roof. When told who my insurance company was, they knew my adjuster, and stated that they did not get along with them very well. That when the adjuster came to inspect, it was their job "to point out damage and do their (the adjustor's) job for them." and "get them off of the property" They repeated this several times. They pointed out dents in my gutter that they felt were hail damage. They told me that I could claim that damage, not repair gutters and pay off deductible. (I found out later that is illegal). They spent probably 40 min of the approximate hour they were at my house trying to get me to sign a letter of intent. 3 or 4 separate conversations, with them explaining why it is so important to have this form signed. They placed it in my hands several times. This caused me to seriously to question their ethics and integrity. I had explained to them that I could not make ANY decisions that day. They explained that this form designated them as my contractor. And if they were present during insurance inspection and I received a settlement and did NOT use their company, I would owe them 20% of the settlement. I ended the encounter with I would let them know if I wanted to use their company. They called a couple of times to follow up. I told them that I decided to go with another company. I was very happy with my decision.

+ -1 moreThis was the only roofing company that we requested estimates from that suggested that we contact our insurance company to see if they would pay some for the new roof due to some wind and hail damage notice when they inspected the old roof. Our insurance company did pay about half of the total cost. I'm not totally comfortable in judging the roofing job right now. I was not home when they put the new roof on. The representative called one day saying they planned to put the roof on the following day. I had a previous commitment and couldn't be home on that day and I told him I would prefer that they reschedule so I could be there. He called his contractor to see if they could change the work day but the contractor wanted to do the job on the following day. Therefore, I wasn't there to see the work being done. The roof looks good and I think they did a good job but only time will tell.
Description of Work: Complete tear off of old roofing on farm house and detached garage/workshop and replace with new 3 tab 25 year composition shingle roof.

Description of Work: The house had a water pipe that burst. They tore out drywall and replaced it. Cleaned up the areas where the water had left stains. They did an inspection of the flood areas to make sure there were no internal water damage.

+ -1 moreShortly after Thanksgiving 2012, my mother received a phone call from Mike saying that he and his crew had a cancellation and had a slot open to do the repair and replace her roof. This was a few weeks sooner than expected, but he was confident that he could do the work in the time slot that the cancellation had created in his work schedule. Happily, our mother's roof was repaired sooner than we had expected. I would highly recommend Midwest Roofing & Restoration, LLC; of Richmond, Indiana. Being in Pennsylvania and our mother residing in Richmond, Indiana; I have to confess that I was concerned. Based upon my brother's very positive assessment of Mike and Midwest Roofing & Restoration, LLC, along with my mother's experience with Mike, my concern was significantly assuaged. My mother reported that the men working for Midwest Roofing were respectful, "wirey" (small skinny guys but very strong), and very neat. The crew working for Midwest were very conscientious about cleaning up any and all materials, trash, and scraps. My mother was thrilled; my brother and I were very satisfied she was happy. I have a lot of experience in working with all sorts of contractors and craftsmen in the home construction business. Unfortunately, not all these experiences were positive. I also was feeling very protective for our mother. There are nightmare stories of elderly people being targeted by - and ripped-off - by shady dishonest construction companies. I am not sure that I can describe the relief I felt in hiring Midwest Roofing and Restoration to repair and replace my mom's roof. He and his crew were great to our mother, worked very hard, and accomplished the work quickly but carefully, as well. To hear our mother being "thrilled" with getting her roof replaced has given me a very good feeling for going with Midwest Roofing and Restoration. My only wish is that they are very needed in western Pennsylvania. I wonder if we can convince them to become Steeler's fans versus Colts fans? I would highly recommend Midwest Roofing & Restoration, LLC.
Description of Work: I am writing this review on behalf of my 76 year old mother who has an aversion to computers. I, along with another brother, were quite involved with Midwest Roofing & Restoration, LLC; Richmond, Indiana. Our mother was quite concerned with the leakage that was occurring in several of the rooms in her home every time there was a rainstorm. Our mother asked my brother and I to assist her in finding a competent, honest roofing company to give her a fair estimate and availability to fix her roof. My brother and I have extensive experience in rehabilitating homes and in the new construction of homes that are then sold to deserving low-income families. The only problem being that my brother and I live in Pennsylvania, and our mother resides in Indiana. My mother received some recommendations from several neighbors who have had their roofs re-done and repaired. Based upon these recommendations, my brother traveled to Indiana for a few days to assist our mother in contacting the roofing companies that were given positive references by her neighbors. Midwest Roofing & Restoration, LLC, were one of the two companies that my brother and mother contacted. Mike, the owner of Midwest Roofing, showed up promptly at the agreed upon time. He kindly introduced himself to my brother and mother. According to my brother, whom is an excellent judge of character (and experienced in dealing with contractors, roofers, plumbers, and electricians), Mike was the consummate professional and gentlemen. His inspection of the roof was done meticulously. After which, he shared his findings with my brother and mother. He told them that he would write up an estimate, and understanding that my brother was needing to return to Pennsylvania, promised to send the estimate to him via e-mail. Mike was true to his word and within a day of returning to Pennsylvania, my brother shared with me the estimate of what was needed to repair our mother's roof(s). Again, I have grown to trust my brother's assessment of people within the construction industry. He did tell me that he did meet with the other roofing company that he called while at our mom's house. This other company is very respected in the Richmond, Indiana, community. He was told that an estimate for repairs would be e-mailed to him, as well. He never did receive an estimate, even after several e-mails and leaving several phone messages at the other roofing company's office.. My brother and I reviewed the estimate that Midwest Roofing & Restoration emailed to us. The detail in the estimate was clearly and concisely written. The price quoted was, in my opinion and in the opinion of my brother, was very fair. Aside from some very minor questions (which Mike cleared up in just one phone call), we encouraged our mother to sign a contract with Midwest and to put down a deposit to ensure the work would be completed before the winter weather came to Indiana. A few days later, she did go to Midwest's office to sign the contract and was met by Mike. She called me afterwards and spoke glowingly of Mike and Midwest Roofing. The contract was signed, she left a deposit, and felt very good about her treatment while at Midwest Roofing's office. .

When he was finished he explained that my roof had suffered damage from the resent storms and he believed he could replace my roof at no cost to me. Well yes I was skeptical expecting like most companies I have dealt with in the past there would be hidden fees and cost to me but I agreed to allow him to proceed with the process. A couple days later he called and set an appointment to talk with me. To my amazement he indeed had the paperwork showing a full replacement of my roof and an added chimney cap which I didn’t have before and at no cost to me. Everything progressed exactly how they described it. First the materials arrived then the workers right on schedule; they completed my roof in one day. I was truly amazed; I have never had such a large project completed with no hassle or inconveniences to me. The crew at Midwest are true professionals and I recommend 100%

They finished the work in one day. I like the way they handles everything. They communicated with my insurance and got everything done.
